Jase and Missy Robertson’s daughter Mia is recovering from what her mom called “a major bone graft procedure for her cleft.”

The official Duck Commander Twitter account shared this Facebook message from Missy:

Great news! All went well. “Textbook” is the word the surgeon used. We are praising God and waiting to go see our baby girl. Thank you for all the prayers!!!!

Missy captioned this photo “Thumbs up!

Go Mia!

Missy explains that Mia’s “long road to healing” will include three months of a liquid diet.

‘Get better, Mia!’: Well wishes for ‘Duck Dynasty’ daughter Mia Robertson, sick on Christmas

That story is a good counterweight to the idiocy that’s been going on lately.

    • Clete Torres

Want idiocy? WhoShat is posting his nonsense again.

      • NRPax

        Oh dear. Where?

        • Clete Torres

          Below. Now shows as ‘Guest.’

Guess the gutless wonder couldn’t stand the heat of being called out so he tried to delete his own post. And down voted me, above.

  • Kaya Hund

As in the case of little Trick Shot Titus, I’m surprised there haven’t been some negative tweets from liberals about this heartwarming story. Way to go, Mia!

    • MagPie

Don’t worry there will be just wait.

  • Clete Torres

Excellent news. Get well soon, Mia, you have a loving family and far-flung network of friends that you’ve never met pulling for you.

  • Paige Jackson

God be with her and her family. Even for relatively minor surgeries, having a child in the hospital is stressful and upsetting. I can’t imagine what it would be like for something serious. I’m thankful Mia has the family she has. <3

After the Jahi McMath story– yeah, I went there, so sue me– you realize that NO surgery is EVER routine, and that it is ALWAYS a blessing when your child comes through it all right and makes a full recovery. (Cf. Bret Baier’s son.)

Hang in there, kid. Much love, and wishes for a speedy recovery and a quick trip home to be with all your family.

I can see what kind of family the Robertsons are. I can see America needs more of them not less. Heaven forbid though if one fails their faith what the msm will do to them and to us by association.

  • Maxx

Count me in as one of those who believe whatever they pay these surgeons who perform these gifts from their craft, well, it probably isn’t enough. Happy news indeed!

Damn there is “HOPE” in America. No need for change. The Robertson Family is a fine example of how families should be. Standing together in stormy and calm weather. Always standing and always standing together. THAT is why their ratings are so high. Thank you team twitchy for the update.

    • cochise1

I agree. A nice family of old-fashioned decent people. You get the feeling that they would help anybody out…gay, black, whatever and do it anonymously.

  • TXKracker

Prayers and blessings to the Robertson’s and little Mia for quick healing!
God will use this for his glory, so she can let others know about cleft issues and possible solutions in both young and old. You have many people praying for you.

    • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Roma Downey, the “Angel,” has been on this mission for years.

One could be unkind and observe that Ms Downey has certainly seen plastic surgeons herself in her life, and certainly would know some she could ask who would be willing to perform this wondrous work for children in other countries. But at least it wouldn’t be ALL about her, and her vanity, even if she did so. It is noble work in any event as it allows children to live and thrive in a way that would be otherwise out of reach for them. There are ancillary problems related to cleft conditions that make life miserable for some children, and even contribute to a 10% sub-age-1 mortality rate.

Okay, nobody has asked the most important question here, I see…

If she’s gonna be on a liquid diet for three months, how do you liquefy a duck? I’m just afraid Uncle Si will try to build such a device, and heaven help us all if he succeeds…

    • Clete Torres

Duck Paté. Just make it a bit thinner.

    • Corey Dennison

      One word: Osterizer!

      • Catchance

Yup. I broke my jaw some 50 years ago and was on a liquid diet (or mashed potatoes) for 2 months. My sister-in-law gave me an Osterizer… made a huge difference.

“Good heart, but crazy as they come.”

Silas Robertson was an Army “lifer” (ret. E-7). Might explain a lot of things.

What a sweet girl! God bless her and her entire family!

  • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

    Awww..She’s still got that smile that could light up half of the south (and a good chunk of the frozen North, too!)… Don’t forget to include plenty of Milk (i recommend Whole) in Mia’s Liquid Diet…It’ll help those bones heal fast! Jawamax 8<{D}

I hate when little ones have to endure the big stuff so early in their lives. Doesn’t seem very fair.
