Side-splitting! That tweet wasn’t meant to be snarky, making it even funnier.

HealthCare.gov tried to kick off the Obamacare marketplace this morning … and failed miserably. The website is an error-ridden mess and users are being asked for their patience as the marketplace works out “known issues” with security. But never mind the pesky bugs preventing people from signing up — HealthCare.gov is psyched!

Get covered “now”? Really, guys?

https://twitter.com/RhondaH70/status/385035277179158528

After stewing in their own shame for a bit, the people behind the insurance marketplace Twitter account realized an apology was in order. But not for the security bugs. They’re just sorry you’re not more patient with the “longer than expected” wait times.

No security question snafu you’d like to address?

One lucky complainer got a reply about “technical difficulties.”

The frightening truth:

  • Moue La Moue

“Huzzah for @HealthCareGov” said no one ever as they navigate a site from the bowels of the nether world.

    • therantinggeek

      +1

  • Marvin Nelson

Damn, at least they could play some elevator music while I wait, and wait, and wait, and … ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

  • Fire and Adjust!

If this doesn’t serve as the most obvious “in your face” omen to the American Public of what a horrendous quagmire Obamacare is and what it has in store for us, then there is no hope for a large segment of this country’s intelligence and future generations………

  • Conservative First

No way! Tell me it aint true! Wait times on something related to the government will be long?! And it’s related to healthcare?! *surprise face*

  • Elaine

You mean they haven’t blamed the shut down yet? OH, that’s right, Obama said last night, we might not like it but it was going forward as planned and fully funded. HAHAHA Eating own words again and choking.

    • visceralrebellion

I hope there’s a hefty dose of karma sprinkled atop that crap sandwich.

  • grais

    Wait times???
    lol
They’re going to blame it on overload that they didn’t expect??
Didn’t they Know that so many people were so very enthused about it?
    lol
Obamacare is exposed for the clown show that it is.

  • Jack Deth

“We’re working to fix these issues as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience”

But… But.. But, if the Gubbmint’s shut down. Who’s gonna fix it?!!!

  • TocksNedlog

What WOULD we do without the government being here to fix things until they’re broken?

    • nc ✓s & balances

      Zing!

  • Lia Markham

So, let me get this straight. The government’s web site is full of bugs, and they want to be in charge of our healthcare? No thanks! I am disabled and have been for quite some time, and I already knew this. I’ve had to work with the government for years, and I already know how inefficient it is.

    • Jack Deth

      Hiya, Liah!

“Preventative Maintenance” and its execution is only held in significance and high regard by those who turn wrenches on military aircraft, trucks, tanks and ships.

On Capitol Hill and the higher level federal bureaucracy. Not so much.

  • John

So people can go through navigators, complete tons of forms, do research online and jump through hoop after hoop to TRY and sign up for Obamacare……..but they can’t take an hour to head to the DMV for an ID needed on election day?!?!?! Ya…..okay….now who’s trying to disenfranchise minorities?!

    • http://commentspammersmustdie.blogspot.com/ Kakarot

John – They don’t want to disenfranchise minority voters. In fact, they’re more than willing to vote for them, just to make sure their vote gets counted. (usually two or three times)

  • TocksNedlog

Wait in line, this window is closed, you’re at the wrong window, wait again until your number is called . . .
So, they’ve managed to create a virtual DMV.
    That’s just lovely.

  • TocksNedlog

President Obama said, and I quote, “Health insurance isn’t a privilege — it is your right.” And so, I now feel I must say
    HELP, HELP, I’M BEING REPRESSED!!!11!!

    • ObamaFail

      “HELP, HELP, I’M BEING REPESSED!!!”
You have effectively won the internet today sir.

    • visceralrebellion

      PERFECT!

  • Uncle Beal

C’mon folks, give’m a break. The govt. has only had four years to get their web site up, debugged, and running.

Part of the problem is all the really good IT people are working at OFA and NSA.

  • Canadian in USA ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

“I feel a disturbance in the Force, as if a million IT people suddenly cried out in agony over the HealthCare.gov site.”

    • visceralrebellion

Oh no, lots of us are laughing ourselves silly! We love watching what we predicted come to pass, and all the Obamabots suddenly realizing, “gee, government really IS incompetent. What do I do now?”

  • rambler

What sounds good in the libbie mind will turn into an epic fail on a national scale. Just wait till the gov starts to push for the single payer. The bigger the gov project, the bigger the the mess, the more expensive it is and the least effective it will be. The fed gov….. the giant wrecking ball going to destroy success, where ever it hides.

The funny part is that you CAN answer the Security Questions and proceed. You just don’t know what question you’re answering…a selection of a security question from the dropdown lists isn’t required

    • Just Another Guy

I never put a valid answer anyway. That ways lies insecurity.

Not the ones I use, but as an example
      Favorite color: Hello Security Question
      Favorite car: Hello Security Question
Street you live on: Hello Security Question

MUCH safer than a “real” answer

NB: I’m not going to the exchange site…I still have health insurance through my employer. Jealously won’t get you anywhere, Libbies.

  • drw

Wait for the spin about how this is all the fault of the GOP. Now THAT should be funny!

  • Gallatin

    @HealthCareGov
We’re working to fix these issues as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience (2/2)

Asking for our “PATIENCE” when you are forcing us to be your “PATIENT”, I can’t wait to be treated.

  • visceralrebellion

Someone has already claimed it’s The Great Right Wing Conspiracy 2013. I wanna go sign up on THAT website.

  • http://commentspammersmustdie.blogspot.com/ Kakarot

Maybe the HealthCare folks could just check with NSA and sign all of us up that way.

  • RedSoloCup

    I got this.

    • Moue La Moue

Zomg! Why can I not ‘like’ this a couple hundred times already!!! >.<

  • alanstorm

“You can’t even get your website to work but you’re gonna run health care.”

I find your lack of faith…completely appropriate.

Where are the buttons for my subsides and exemptions?
