Boom! The Republican-led House passed a continuing resolution Friday that aims to fund government operations through mid-December and — bam! — defund Obamacare. The OFA-run “Barack Obama” Twitter account went full-on petulant.

El. Oh. El. Schadenfreudelicious!

#EnoughAlready? Fixed it for you:

After the vote, the official White House account retweeted this:

Not to be sore winners (for now, at least), but …

  • Juanita Outlaw-Bedford

Hallelujah and Praise the Lord!!!! Today is a victory for the American people. We say no to Marxism, No to Fascism, No to Socialism. Today We the People said Yes to Freedom, Yes to Honor, Yes to Liberty. So there #ObamaCare what cha gonna do now???

    • E Quilibrate

Well yes, but now it goes to the senate where it does not
stand a snowballs’ chance in hell of surviving, sad to say.

      • Juanita Outlaw-Bedford

That’s OK, but it’s lets them know that there will be no retreat no surrender. That we would rather die standing on our feet than go on living down on our knees. Obama has his veto pen, let him use it , then let all of us see just how he and his elk wish to subjugate this country.

        • GrindingMills

There is a surrender. Cruz (and the Senate Republicans) said he wouldn’t filibuster.

          • Juanita Outlaw-Bedford

That’s Ok, Traitors need to found and weeded out. His true colors have been shown. You see, with cowards, they are like dull knives that just can’t cut, they always talk loud but end up saying nothing. Now we see that after all these months of him talking about being willing to join the fight on the front line, the first shot is fired and he runs to the rear with the gear. He’s sealed his own fate.

          • OLLPOH ~ ThePeonClass…

Juanita, he is going to filibuster. He is no traitor. There are trolls on here to cause angst.
            Harry Reid is “The” Traitor.

          • jeanal5dogs

Harry reid must go. He’s an enemy of Patriots and must be dealt with as such.

          • Rich

Dirty Harry plans to put it to an up or down vote in the Senate, so there can not be a filibuster except for a paltry 15 hours allowed for verbal argument. Then it still gets either an up or down vote and that’s that.

          • notpilgrims2

            That’s what democracy is…

          • Barbara’s Political Rantings

            We arent a democracy.

          • OLLPOH ~ ThePeonClass…

            Snap!
Natural Law, Natural Rights, Constitutionally Sovereign Free Republic.

          • KellyKAFIR

Check out article 4 section 4 – We are a republic. Look it up if ya don’t know the difference between a democracy and a republic! Sharpton doesn’t know the difference

          • Cobrarog

Right Barb. We are a Republic. Just like that abused term, the “Democratic’ party. It is the Democrat party. Not a damned thing democratic about that outfit!

          • notpilgrims2

We vote for our leaders. We are a Western style democracy. We don’t let dictators dictate us. We have Constitutional protections. The reason that Obamacare is law and remains law is because we democratically elected members of Congress (albeit from the wrong party, but that happens in democracies) and they voted democratically for the law.

          • Honeygirl49

Except that most people have swallowed the swill that is the Obamade, and have forgotten that we are NOT a democracy; we are a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC.
Even Benjamin Franklin, when asked, said, “We’ve given you a Republic, madam. IF you can keep it!”

          • Ken Alan Draper

we are not a democracy, this is a republic.

          • notpilgrims2

We are a Western style democracy. We love Western style democracy so much we even try to export it. President Bush tried to export it, and even Obama helped overthrow Gaddafi.

We vote for our politicians rather than letting them lord over us.

          • moi2u

Demonicrats up for re-election in 2014 would be smarter to pass the bill ‘as is’ and send it to BO for a veto instead of removing the defund part and sending it back to the House. But they are too arrogant for that.

          • kim

so if a man decides that one specific plan won’t work, he is automatically a traitor, before you even know if it is true?

          • Juanita Outlaw-Bedford

It’s one thing to observe, improvise, adapt and overcome, but to abdicate at the first sign of resistance is another.

          • notpilgrims2

The reason the plan won’t work is because Democrats control the Senate and the Presidency.

          • LeighLeigh

Red State Republicans can be turned. Call their offices. They can’t ignore 50,000 calls…

          • Guest

            Hear, hear!! Well said.

          • jenndee

He has already said he will filibuster, so I don’t think what GrindingMills said is accurate. We should not be so quick to throw our fighters in the Senate under the bus. Focus on the real Dem. in Rep. clothing like McCain and Graham.

          • Juanita Outlaw-Bedford

True that, but I really believe what Ms. Laura Ingall’s stated this morning:

.@RepSeanDuffy : @SenTedCruz completely rolled over on #Obamacare defund; Thank God he wasn't there fighting at the Alamo— Laura Ingraham (@IngrahamAngle) September 20, 2013

            and I believe her

          • mike_in_kosovo

Did LI say that before or AFTER Cruz’ interview?

If before, and you still believe LI over Cruz, then you’re guilty of being swayed by soundbites as much as Dems are.

          • LeighLeigh

He is a brilliant man….but he can’t do this by himself or with the other two conservatives in the Senate. His entire goal was to get the PEOPLE involved and it was the PEOPLE who got the GOP off their behinds to listen to us…..Man, you people are harsh against the THREE people doing their job against 550 other people!!! Good Lord. Defeatists don’t win, they LOSE…..no wonder the right sucks, because at the first RUMOR put out by those that don’t want to fight on OUR side, convinces you that the only ones FIGHTING are giving up is INSANE.. You people should go with the RINO’s, because you are a bunch of losers.

          • Barbara’s Political Rantings

Sen. Ted Cruz said on CNN’s “State of the Union” that he’s convinced that now is the time to defund Obamacare, but he says a “grassroots tsunami” is needed for that to take place. Where did Laura get he rolled over?

          • Dale Nye

Ted Cruz led this fight, he took all the criticism and name calling and you turn your back on him? What have YOU done lately for freedom. I know Laura Ingraham has done nothing but talk, so to hell with her

          • Vennoye

Strange, she is the only one saying that!

          • jeanal5dogs

That is so absolutely correct. Must get rid of RINOs…

          • moi2u

He would be smarter to NOT filibuster the Senate vote. Think about it.

          • jenndee

I am not screaming for a filibuster I am not going to pretend to know the intricacies of our Senate. I am just trying to point out that just because of one sound bite or a different approach by Cruz we should not be so quick to throw him under the bus. This man and his family our putting a lot on the line for our freedom unlike other RINO’s who only worry about the celebrity of it all.

          • Crystal Wright

            AMEN!!!

          • Dale Nye

Ted Cruz is anything but a coward. Whether he filibusters or not, he led this fight against all odds. What have you done lately?

          • LeighLeigh

You don’t know what you are talking about!! This is a PEOPLE DRIVEN DEFUND EFFORT, not Ted Cruz!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! Quit listening to Fox News Pundits and CNN Pundits because you should go straight to Cruz’ websites….YOU NEED TO GET OFF YOUR ASS AND CALL EVERY RED STATE SENATOR TO TELL THEM TO VOTE TO DEFUND OBAMACARE!! THEY CAN’T VOTE FOR IT, BECAUSE THEY WILL BE UNELECTED NEXT YEAR…..Please. IT IS UP TO AMERICAN INDIVIDUALS TO GET THIS DONE.

          • David A. Schiferl

Cruz said “I will use every parliamentary procedure available”. that would include the filibuster.

          • moi2u

Actually smarter to NOT filibuster the vote. Think about it.

          • David A. Schiferl

            But he can filibuster cloture.

          • MNWoman

Breitbart has something about Ted Cruz vowing to use whatever procedure available to stop the ACA.

          • ObamaFail

Yesterday Cruz said he was ready to fight to defund Obamacare.

          • foramerica

That would be great. Could you post the link for that. I would like to read it.

          • MNWoman

            Here you go :)

            http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-TV/2013/09/19/Ted-Cruz-Vows-Filibuster-To-Stop-Obamacare

I will add that I am deaf so I didn’t actually get to listen to the clip, but the headline and brief summary give a general idea of what was said.

          • foramerica

            Thanks!

          • LeighLeigh

Go to Breitbart.com…they are on target for the best reports.

          • reddarin

Um. Cruz promotes dontfundit. If he decided not to give the Senate (D) an excuse to demagogue the issue by not staging a filibuster it isn’t surrendering anything.

          • jeanal5dogs

            Amen.

          • NewWest 123

When did he say that? And if he won’t, there is a good reason for it!

          • MNWoman

Here is a link to Breitbart. It says he will do whatever he can to stop the ACA, including filibuster.

            http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-TV/2013/09/19/Ted-Cruz-Vows-Filibuster-To-Stop-Obamacare

          • Jason Pritchett

Cruz not filibustering is a GOOD thing. It needs to come up for a vote in the senate, before a conference committee can reconcile the House’s bill, and the Senate’s bill (presumably funding fully Gov. and Obamacare). I foresee that committee funding all of the Gov., and going halves on certain provisions of Obamacare. Maybe, funding most, but defunding all of those items that Obama keeps delaying and deferring. Then let Obama veto, and shut down ALL of the Gov., just for the items that he has essentially ALREADY taken out of the bill! I see that as the path to victory, both in the short term budget, and in the 2014 elections.

          • idalily

No, no, no! I want the House to stand firm, no surrender, no compromise. And blame Senate Dems for a shutdown. I want them to stand on principles. But since they don’t have any, your scenario is what will probably play out.

          • irishamrep

ha ha ha very sad but probably true

          • moi2u

You’re forgetting that the media will NEVER blame the Dems or Obama for a shutdown–it IS and will continue to blame Repubnicans, using BO’s ‘extortion’ and ‘blackmail’ language. Sometimes it’s best to show restraint and then beat them at their own game. Make the Senate dems & BO ‘own’ the train-wreck–they will be sealing their political fate by the 2014 election.

          • idalily

True, BUT it doesn’t matter. What matters is winning Indies. Indies are huge on cutting spending, and if the R’s make their case properly ( a big if, I know), Indies will side with R’s on this.

          • OLLPOH ~ ThePeonClass…

            No. Repeal.

          • moi2u

The best we can hope for is a year’s delay on the implementation of Obamacare…running the issue into the 2014 election. Making the Dems ‘own’ the train-wreck right now in the Senate may well be a good thing for 2014.

          • NewWest 123

I think Cruz knows what and what not to do. What he ends up doing will be well thought out and what ever he can do.

          • OLLPOH ~ ThePeonClass…

Not so. Cruz said he would.

          • moi2u

Harry Reid will simply avoid the filibuster by motioning for a straight up or down vote.

          • Unicorns and Rainbows

Doesn’t matter. That’s not the point.

          • Guest
          • LeighLeigh

I heard EVERY talk radio show Cruz was on today…he was NOT going to give Reid the knowledge of his filibuster….on local Houston’s and the National Michael Berry Show he was very specific about his plan and this is phase III….CALL THE RED STATE SENATORS AND LET THEM KNOW YOU WANT OCARE DEFUNDED!!!!! CRUZ said the ONLY way to peel off Democrats in the Senate is to BOMBARD the RED STATE DEMOCRATS, with phone calls….they can’t ignore 50,000 phone calls…..The filibuster will happen depending on What Reid does…..CBS news is the LAST place you should watch about Ted Cruz….you should listen to Talk Radio IN HIS OWN VOICE telling YOU what YOU need to do to help him go forward!!! Call the Red State SEnators.

          • kim

did you think a filibuster would do anything other than make him tired of standing there?

          • Elaine

Wouldn’t do any good. Just delay the inevitable progressive Socialists’ votes!

          • idalily

They really can’t. Per Senate rules, they get only a short amount of time. It isn’t worth it. But if it gets past Reid and Senate votes it down, those who voted yes and no will be on record. And then, if the Senate takes out the no-Obamacare part and sends it back, the House can vote it down (if they manage to keep a spine long enough)

          • moi2u

The House won’t vote it down, wouldn’t do any good once the Senate has removed the defunding part and sends it back…they will have to hash out the parts of Obamacare to change and/or get rid of, and will ask for delay of a year for implementation, which they are, likely, to get from the Demonicrats.

          • idalily

That could happen, I admit. I guess I’m hoping the House R’s will get a spine. I know, I’m such a dreamer.

          • kuhnkat

Now Cruz says he WILL filibuster if necessary.

My question is, filibuster is to STOP a bill. Why would he stop this CR that defunds Barrycare??

          • jeanal5dogs

I can assure you that those issues aren’t the only ones n that bill. There are probably alot of other sneaky sh#t in there like the Gay civil rights act or some sh#t.

          • mountaineer69

FOCUS!!!! The problem is not gay civil rights, or any other issue. If the government effectively takes over healthcare, they own you. Any subject that you care about can be addressed/controlled/manipulated under the banner of “healthcare.” Add to that the legions of new government workers/beneficiaries/crony capitalists and the country is OVER.

          • moi2u

You forgot to mention BO’s IRS Gestapo enforcers…

          • moi2u

Would amount to simply Grandstanding and Soapboxing on principle, but it’s smarter to NOT filibuster. Everyone knows the Senate will reject the bill and send it back to the House. That’s the best we can hope for, because the House will demand a delay of implementation of Obamacare for various obvious reasons. A delay of implementation for a year will work in their favor come 2014. Smarter to let the Senate Dems own it and do their thing…and then beat them at their own chess game.

          • Julie

Not what Cruz said on Cavuto a little over an hour ago.

          • Paul

            we shall see

maybe he’ll wear pink tennis shows like Abortion Barbie did when she stood up for every woman’s right to a free abortion at any time for any reason.

          • moi2u

It’s actually smarter to NOT filibuster the Senate vote. Think about it.

          • LeighLeigh

Not true!!!! He was on talk radio ALL DAY LONG….he gave the four steps needed to get this thing thru Senate….we are currently in Stage 3: Call the Red State Senators and tell them to DEFUND….Ted Cruz is NOT giving away his strategy of a Fillabuster AND on Houston’s Own Czar of Talk Radio, and one of his best friend’s, Michael Berry Show, He said that depending on what Reid does is what determines if he filabusters or not…it is not a done deal….The Key is phase 4: Holding the GOP in the House to have balls to Conference the Defund Legislation by sending CR’s separately to fund the different parts of gubment……we shall see…..Harry Reid doesn’t want a Filabuster because it will make him look the fool.

          • Cobrarog

Cruz didn’t say any such of a damn thing! Best be more careful about what what kind of Kool Aide your swallowing, GrindingMills. It could lead you into voting for people who are working against your own best interests. Just saying.

          • redpatriotmom

Cruz says he would filibuster to defund Obamacare

          • John Pryce

Actually, apparently they can’t, or so I’ve been told. Something about how Senate filibuster rules apply to bills like this one.

        • Michelle Houghtaling

I want Obamacare REPEALED so it can’t come shuffling back to steal the brains of our children.

        • tedlv

He and his “Elk”? Isn’t she a “moose”?

          • Juanita Outlaw-Bedford

“ilk” Thanks for the correction. Was typing fast.

        • Bill Gryan

I hope I am never subjugated by an elk. It sounds painful.

          • Juanita Outlaw-Bedford

Ok, Ok, my bad, was typing quickly, meant to type “ilk”. Stroked with my right hand and not with my left. Don’t worry I can still shoot straight, if I don’t have to shoot too far

          • Bill Gryan

I figured as much–was just being silly. I agree with the spirit of your comment. Glad to see you’re stroking with the better hand now.

          • Jim Tidwell

            Pelosi looks like an elk.

          • ceemack

            “Pelosi looks like an elk.”

More like a deer in the headlights.

        • Rightturn

No surrender, perhaps. But still a defeat.

        • jeanal5dogs

I believe we have BEEN seeing it for 5 years now…
must undo many things. Obamacare, DHS,EPA,Dept. of Ed. etc.

        • Dr. Tar

It forces the Congressional Democrats to embrace their Frankenstein Monster all by themselves. They created it, they’ve given it life now they can explain to the villagers why they shouldn’t destroy the monster that is causing havoc and mayhem around the countryside.

        • notpilgrims2

If Obama vetoes it, it won’t become law. Obamacare will remain law.

        • KellyKAFIR

Obama has an elk? (I think you were going for ilk) Two different things…

      • therantinggeek

Knowing Sen Reid, you’re probably right.

      • Joe

so the govt will shutdown and it will be the dems fault…

        • David A. Schiferl

…except the essential services. SS, military, etc.

          • radinsocal

It’s like, are they going to bring the ships and troppsd home because of a shutdown? No, so the bluster from the Left is to make people scared, it’s not the end of govt. operations. Might be a good thing too.

        • Joe

Sounds like a plan to me! Vast majority of them voted for this anyway.
Elections have consequences! My commute will be a piece of cake than!

        • Ed Richardson

Shut it down and keep it shut down until O’Bozo is out of office.Essential services still go on. DEFUND IT NOW !!!!!

        • ceemack

Yeah, THAT’S how the media will spin it!

      • Charlene Geren

Not so….God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we could think or ask….Pray God intervenes in the hearts of these men and women in the senate. To God be the Glory!

      • http://GonzoEcon.com Tony Lima

Point is to get Dem. senators votes on the record. This will be important in fall, 2014.

        • Elaine

Amen! Do you know who was the lone R who voted NO and why did 14 reps R & D not vote Obama style?

          • Ronald Green

            Scott Rigell (R) Va.

        • Billie Slash

          Yes!

      • w00nda_63

Yeah Just watch us! We do not want obama’s HELLthcare! It is destroying the job market further and it is 3rd rate at best and ruins the medical profession with many offices due to shut up shop..not to mention that they redefined a work week at 30 hours, which might work for govt workers but certainly not for JonQPublic whose resources would be challenged beyond belief! Especially with at less than 30 hours a week to drum up the payment for your family and did i mention idf you go sans Ins they could come in and remove your children!! SO Call Your Senators people ! It is time to pressure the above it all Senators on the left especially but even the progressive repubs need to get a big shocker SO call them email them and let them we will do what ever we can to stop this god-awful crammed down our throats legislation by a congress at that time turned a deaf ear to the people who loudly said they wanted them to drop it..but screw you was their response to us….Start now and do not quit until they finally hear us loud and clear DEFUND OBAMACARE!

      • wildchill

Yes , but know this ,
only the senate and or Obama himself can shut down the government now … Lets see how they spin this …

      • mmt

That doesn’t matter — when it leaves the senate — it goes back to the house for approval.

      • TREP

ONE THIRD OF THOSE SENATORS ARE UP FOR REELECTION NEXT YEAR, THEY BETTER LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE.

      • EdwdLny

Maybe, maybe not, but, every democrat in the house, save two, just revoted to force obamacare onto the American public. Obamacare that loses support on a daily basis, obamacare that is currently throwing multitudes of part time workers out of their current insurance plans, or out of their jobs.

        • Ronald Green

And keeping people from finding a job.

      • Laura Behnke

Least they stood for their convictions and didn’t back down. Wish more of them would listen to us.. the people and vote that way.. but they are too scared to stand up for whatever reason. The courage of a man is defined in how they act and do.. not so much in what they say.

      • David Myles

Then it will the Dems. who will shut it down…everything funded BUT ObarryCare!!!

      • David Myles

Then the Dems. will get credit for shutting it down…CR. funds everything else!!!

      • http://Paterzplace.blogspot.com/ DonM

So they shut down the government. All the bureaucrats cry. The rest of us don’t sell our children and grandchildren into slavery.

      • Lisa

No one thought it would make it in the house. Maybe the senate will actually listen to the people and listen to themselves. Not even they want Obamacare!

      • Connie Slocum

But now, assuming they vote it down, they will be responsible for shutting down the government. I sincerely hope it affects their pay!

      • Mike55_Mahoney

Obama says he refuses to negotiate. The counter is House adjournment; go home. When the lights go out in Washington, Boehner can rhetorically ask, why go back into a non-negotiable status situation? The power of the purse is the House’s, not the Executive’s. Time to play the trump card.

      • Ken Alan Draper

it goes into the pile of similar legislation on Harry Reid’s desk, he refuses to bring up for a vote in the senate because even with his majority there he still fears that enough dems will listen to their constituents that it could pass.

    • Armando

It’s going to go to the Senate where the defunding will be rejected, that is what.

    • joanstevenson55

McCain is retiring, and he is a liberals best friend…most likely he will vote as a Judas traitor he is, as well as the fact he is hinting at retirement (most likely because he knows he wouldn’t make it back in)…then Graham (who’s job is already threatened, will be shaking in his boots will have the weigh the risks….Should be interesting to see what Senate Dems (that are up for election soon will do)

Here is the list of those you’ll need to hammer:

      Max Baucus (Montana)*
      Mark Begich (Alaska)
      Chris Coons (Delaware)
      Richard Durbin (Illinois)
      Al Franken (Minnesota)
      Kay Hagan (North Carolina)
      Tom Harkin (Iowa)*
      Tim Johnson (South Dakota) *
      Mary Landrieu (Louisiana)
      Carl Levin (Michigan)*
      Edward Markey (Massachusetts)
      Jeff Merkley (Oregon)
      Mark Pryor (Arkansas)

      Brian Schatz (Hawaii)**
      Jeanne Shaheen (New Hampshire)
      Mark Udall (Colorado)

No, really Enough already. This is not fascism or Marxism. It isn’t even socialism. Liberals wanted a single-payer system and this isn’t even close. It’s closer to something Mitt Romney backed and the Heritage Foundation once thought up. You are the radical who doesn’t even understand the definitions of the words you use.

Now Juanita Outlaw- Bedford.. We tell that Crook Harry Reid ass traitor to shut up. Just say “NO” to Canada Like Medical Insce…… and KEEP SAYING NO!

Our wait times at litterally KILLING US!…

we ARE trying to instill some balls into our So-Called Conservative Gov’t to make at least 40% PRIVATE health Care…..

      Keep Saying NO!!!!!!

    • Tomy T

We also say yes to quality health care. Yes, to wider access. Yes, to reduced cost. This isn’t a choice between health care and no health care. It is a choice between quality, available health care as opposed to the government slop they want to feed us. Get the Government OUT of health care NOW. It has been a disaster. The more the government gets involved in health care, the more expensive, less accessable, and lower quality the health care will become. Most of the cost in health care today is because of the intrusion and regulation of health care.
Rockefeller lowered the price of Kerosene from 52 cents to 17 cents a gallon and standardized the quality. This did much more for the common man than the government could and has ever done. He drastically inmproved the lifes of millions of people.

  • Sakemoto

Matters not. The fix is in and the Senate will betray us. Business as usual.

    • Unicorns and Rainbows

Yes and they will have to defend that action next year at election time.

Then we get rid of all the ones that voted NO to defunding!

    • $39650924

They will betray us! The damned senate and its majority of Democrats! Betrayal!

    • Alastor

Sakemoto – we need to be more specific (and less like the MSM) …

The fix is in, and the Democrat Majority Party in the Senate will betray us … the Democrat Majority Party can use its Democrat votes to pass what the House has already passed – or it can use its Democrat votes to shut down the government … and the Democrat Majority members will have to go on the record with their votes … as will the Republican Minority members …

(It takes more typing, but it makes sure that we are specific about who can keep the government going or shut it down …

      • Jack Deth

Then those who are p.o’ed and don’t want Obamacare should start burning down the phone lines with angry calls into the Capitol.

        Right now!

  • PatriotRG

some battles just need to be fought – period

    • RagamuffinB

Exactly! Even if Reid strips out the defunding portion when it gets to the Senate, it passes and it goes back to the House (and, please God, fails at that time) and it becomes a volleying match, it needs to happen. If a shut down occurs every conservative needs to get a bull horn and shout that it has occurred because the Dems would not defund something nobody wants, that they themselves want exemptions from and that has had major portions already delayed. The fight needs to happen, even if it doesn’t ‘work’. Because the American people need to see some character and strength in DC for once. And if the damn thing gets funded, every hiccough can be greeted by conservatives with ‘we tried and you wanted it, it’s yours, you own it’

      • PatriotRG

the dems will own the train wreck fully – the pain and the agony that this law will inflict on the people will be on dems. They did that! The aim should be for a true conservative president – assuming Bobo hasn’t turned the WH in to a socialist workers collective

    • Guest

Yeah, now let’s just see if the Senate Republicans try. Sounds like they are going to lay down and let Reid pull the Obamacare language. They would be cowards if they don’t filibuster (Cruz, Lee and Paul included.)

Or if they do, will we really be able to tell the difference?

      • Stephen L. Hall

Last time it was painted as the Republicans shutting down government; but it takes two to tango; this time they have to point out that it is the Democrats shutting down government, as Republicans voted for funding.

        • http://blog.khelek.us Brian Johnson

You seem to forget how this works.

Democrats and their media bull horns (but I repeat myself) don’t ever have to be the bad guys. It will be spun to make it look like the GOP shut down the government and then personally ordered the kills on women, children, and the elderly.

The LIV will lap it up. And whatever spine that temporarily was injected into the GOP will quickly fade, and they’re been puddles on the floor….

          • Unicorns and Rainbows

That’s why we have to start gettin’ mean. I mean plum mad dog mean (as Josey Wales would say) and fight these a$$holes with everything we’ve got. The libs are out for our blood. We better start responding in kind or it’s over.

      • Unicorns and Rainbows

Oh, I think so. I think our lives will improve greatly.

  • Suzyqpie

Next up, a speech on not sending SS checks and not paying the military. There will money for Syria & Egypt. There is be money for 44,660 people in the Commerce Dept, money for rabbit reproduction research, but SS & military pay will be in jeopardy. Basically the same hysteria we had over sequestration.

    • Juanita Outlaw-Bedford

You know it, but that’s the same ole tripe they always sing. It’s like hearing a record over and over again. The senate GOP should then start giving them a list of things they would cut out to meet budget. Then we’ll see just how much they (the Dems) are willing to give up to keep the lights on

    • tarandfeatherthecrooks

The speech will be written with staff via private workshop aboard Airforce One and Two (gotta get the dog there, too) while en route to multi million dollar vacation destination for the Barbary President Obama, President Barbary Obama; hey it works both ways!!

    • Unicorns and Rainbows

You called it perfectly. Watch and see. Who cares though? It’s been said so many times surely people will see through that. It’s like being called a racist for the 187,412 time. Eventually you stop listening.

      • Bama59

The problem is, that I don’t put it past this assministration. Look at the sequestration, they have made it as painful as possible by cutting the most visible things possible. There was no need, as Suzyqpie points out, there is plenty of useless and wasteful spending that could be cut. Simply out of spite they will cut things like the military pay, SS and such. This is a hateful and vengeful pack of mongrels we are dealing with.

        • Unicorns and Rainbows

That’s our “Fearless leader” dude. ANYTHING to score political points. Even if it hurts regular Americans. Or anybody else for that matter. Obama would throw his own kids to the wolves if he thought it would help him politically.

    • artinthewild

That’s always the first thing he jumps on, no money for SS or the Military. I so agree – money for Syria & Egypt, Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan – and so many others. You have to rmember that Obama is delusional which is why his puppetmasters (the Brotherhood) can handle him so easily. Haven’t you noticed how he lies – and then lies again? He belives his own lies…. I’ve known people like that and so have you if you think about it… It’s a sickness. He’s mentally ill. Seriously.

ObamaCare is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democrat Party – which is soley responsible for its content!

  • Dexter Alarius

Don’t forget to loudly and repeatedly state that CRs are only necessary because of the Senate Democrats’ failure to perform their Constitutional duty to pass a budget for over 4 years!!!

    • David Anton

So on the mark with that piece of info Dexter! NOW Harry Reid is complaining about passing a balanced budget??? What a pile of rubbish!! The House should bring out the fact that the Senate has NOT passed a balanced budget in all these years, and that Harry-as leader, should be removed as one removes an obstacle from the path of progress. The democrats and the Senate have been blocking legislation for too long- only to “rubber stamp” items from Obama like Obamacare and sequestration which originated with him.

  • Stephen L. Hall

Democrats care more about Obamacare than children and the elderly.

    • Unicorns and Rainbows

      Excellent!

  • tarandfeatherthecrooks

    So very glad.

  • 0bamasnought

    Aahh jeez,

Am I the only one that wanted to see a spectacular Obamacare train wreck?

I have been reading so many stories about the lack of infrastructure behind this fraud, and all reports point to a massive melt down of the system come Oct 1.

Are we saving “The Won” from himself again?
Well, I have a copy of “The General”, I’ll go watch that.

    • Michael Anderson (WB)

The point of Obamacare is to fail. It’s in the failure that they plan to switch over to single payer so we can “be like all the other nations”.

      • Unicorns and Rainbows

You got it. A risk based business model does not work if you remove risk from the equation.

      • 0bamasnought

        Won’t work.

Failure is not a trait American normally embrace.

Obamacare is the ONLY Legacy that the Democrats were able to push through.

To have that fail, and to not be able to rahm another bill through, is going to hurt them.

        • Michael Anderson (WB)

We’ve taught a whole generation that failure is OK, as long as you feel good about yourself. And that generation is starting to vote.

          • MNWoman

This comment brilliantly sums up the problems of our society.

        • vetgal1970

That Obama’s legacy is a law that was intended to CAUSE pain is quite significant.
My family has already lost their health insurance and a portion of our income along with it. I can’t tell you how much it enrages me when POTUS says there will be ‘bumps in the road’. My family losing something that I worked very hard to provide is NOT a bump in the road.

          • 0bamasnought

            I got my Obamacare notice.

            114% increase in premiums.

          • vetgal1970

I’m not complying. I’m a single mom and a disabled veteran, I had insurance that I had earned and due to ‘changes’ when Obamacare passed, I became ineligible and so did my kids. I looked into CHAMPVA for the kids and it doesn’t even meet the requirements for Obamacare, also it is billed like Medicare which a lot of doctors are dropping. I’m sick and I don’t have the energy for it. Let them sue me.

          • 0bamasnought

I am glad women are speaking out in this manner.

They have annoyed my Princess to the point, that she used language I had not heard since I was in the service.

I am so glad that they found her limit, and not I.

            I enjoy sleeping indoors.

          • vetgal1970

LOL!! I can sympathize with your Princess. I was a sailor once upon a time. The swear jar funds paid for a college visit for my oldest and a swing through DC on the way home for my youngest.

I wish more women were speaking out, it ticks me off that something I worked to secure for my family was so casually signed away but then I am mandated to replace it to the detriment of anything else I was saving for like a college education for my kid. And they call it ‘helping’. I was a single mom that worked very hard and sacrificed a LOT in order to not be a statistic, and now everything I did to make sure my kids had what they needed no matter what happened to me is for naught. It’s too cruel.

        • http://blog.khelek.us Brian Johnson

Failure is not a trait American normally embrace.

That may’ve been true, once upon a time. But now we teach kids that there is no such thing as failure. Because FEELINGS! or something….

And then, of course, America reelected the Stuttering Charlie Foxtrot of a Miserable Failure (SCOAMF) in 2012. There’s your full-on embrace.

          • Markward

you read the anti-idiotarian rottweiler, don’t you?

          • 0bamasnought

My kids worked in the family store, just like I did, they saw the dichotomy of what they were being taught in school, and how the real world operated.

      • 0bamasnought

Broke and unstable, dependent on the hand-outs of others does not a great country make.

        That’s why I am peeved.

    • MNWoman

I would almost agree with you, but to let this train wreck happen, the American people would suffer.

      • 0bamasnought

It keeps it in the fore front of people’s minds.

Look at the way it is being used to beat back the Democrats gains, in other areas.

I have liberal friends, and they are getting the same increases as I am.

And since my liberal friends actually work, and have well paying jobs, they don’t get the subsidies either.

Most of them are talking about third party candidates now.

    • nc

Haven’t we had enough failure for these last several years? Better to stop it before it can do anymore damage. It’s done too much already.

      • 0bamasnought

And yet, they are destroying their own pet programs to fund it.

My Dearest Mother is beside herself over the five hundred billion that they are cutting from Medicare. She is even talking about, (gasp) voting Republican.

I was surprised to find out that she could say Republican.

I am still trying to find a way to pay for the $500 a month increase in my premiums.

        • nc

That’s what I’m talking about. Too many innocent people are getting whacked really hard for no reason. Kill the beast, and people will feel the burden lift.

      • 0bamasnought

I wish I had the ability to hug the world and make it better.

But the ideal I am striving for is too make this country better for future generations.

The system we have now is so broken, I feel that there is not much we can do but change just about everything.

My big worry is for the young and elderly, they are most at risk.

  • vetgal1970

Those are the people’s representatives, therefore the People have spoken. By Harry Reid’s own standards that should be enough for the Senate to pick it up and vote on it, without stripping the provision. Of course I know it will never happen. Even if it did, the power hungry pols like McCain who WANT the control that Obamacare assumes would cause it to fail.

    • Stephen L. Hall

hehehe . . . you said Harry Reid had standards.

      • vetgal1970

He does, they just vary day to day based on the memo he gets from Val. Just thought we could capitalize on his most recently stated one which was ‘the public has spoken’.

      Reid is an idiot.

      • alanstorm

Call me an optimistic pessimist. I’m simply giving HR the benefit of the doubt …for the 47th time or so.

Who knows? He might actually, you know, bring a bill before the Senate.

Hey, it’s theoretically possible. Maybe. In an alternate universe.

    • Juanita Outlaw-Bedford

It’s sad to say, but Cruz has bitched up and fallen on his knees. He will not fight in the Senate.

      • nc

WRONG! This happened because of him and Mike Lee. They know the People don’t want the trainwreck, and, like the “Syrian Involvement” that never happened because the People didn’t want that either, this will be stopped too. Get it?

        • Juanita Outlaw-Bedford

No I don’t because I have yet to see or hear Mike Lee stand up in front of crowds, on tv, fb, twitter, saying that he would do whatever it took to rally the Senate to defund this mess, then he states today; I won’t filibuster. What’s that. I get really tired of supposed to be men that walk around with more vagina in their hearts than I carry between my legs. Establish a perimeter and defend from that point.

          • nc

Why not get it first hand?
            http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/hannity/2013/09/19/are-republicans-closer-defunding-obamacare

HANNITY: You know what the critics are saying. And I have been arguing with conservatives because they keep coming back, “Hannity, we want it gone as bad as you do, but tactically it’s not smartest thing to do because you know that the Republicans will get blamed for the shutdown and the media will blame them.” How do you answer that?
CRUZ: Well, the answer is that we’ve got to win. We’ve got to respond to the American people. There’s a series of steps, the first step — and what Mike and I have devoted every waking moment for the past several months to doing — is motivating and energizing the American people. You know, we have seen in just a matter of weeks over 1.3 million Americans go to don’tfundit.com, sign a national petition, call their representatives, call their senators.
Look, today’s decision is a victory for the American people. Those 1.3 million Americans — and an awful lot of them came as a result of your show — that went and signed that petition and spoke out. Today the House of Representatives answered the call.
Now the ball is in Harry Reid’s hands. And Harry Reid needs to listen to the American people just like John Boehner did. And I can guarantee you one thing. Mike and I are going to fight with every breath in our body. As Churchill said, we will fight on the beaches, we will fight on the streets. We will fight at every step to stop the biggest job killer in America.
HANNITY: Going to talk about blood, toil, sweat and tears.
All right. Let’s talk about — all right, Boehner, I’m assuming now the House will go forward with the CR that defunds ObamaCare. Walk us. The House passes that. Goes to the Senate. What happens next?
LEE: OK. So, what happens next after it passes the House is that at that moment once the House passes this, the only people who can produce a government shutdown at that point are Harry Reid and the Senate Democrats and the president of the United States. If they are willing to say to the American people, “Look, because you want to defund ObamaCare even though you’re willing to fund everything else in government, we are going to shutdown the government”?
I don’t think they win that fight. I don’t think they can make a persuasive case to the American people that ObamaCare, this law’s that’s not ready to be implemented, this law that’s going to make health care unaffordable and is being unfairly implemented, not to mention unconstitutionally altered by the president. They cannot win the argument that they should fight this and that they should shut down the government simply because they want to stand behind this law that the American people fundamentally reject.

          • http://politicallyincorrectcanadian.blogspot.ca/ Reverend Ken

            …and out of context.

  • OLLPOH ~ ThePeonClass…

Yesss! Now, we’ll see if the Senate Loves We The People!?

  • Michelle

Hey OFA – THIS is what we put them in there for. THIS is why Democrats lost control of the House in 2010. YOU brought this on yourselves. You are too dense and stupid to realize that Obamacare is EXACTLY the reason Nancy no longer has that gavel and Republicans control the House with an overwhelming majority. Can you hear us now?

  • Kim Ski

The plan to defund Obamacare DOES NOT shut down the government. It’ keeps it open! It’s Obama that’s threatening to veto and shut down the government.

  • Cliff Nier

Today the Republicans just threw away that slim chance they had of a victory in 2016. Anyone objective can see that they have done nothing but waste the taxpayers time and money for 5 straight years stonewalling and tripping over themselves in an attempt to do any and everything to repeal anything proposed by any Democrat. The American people are fed up with no progress and that lies at the feet of the GOP. I am not a Dem, I am an Independent and I can assure you I will not be voting for anyone that puts their party line ahead of the American public.

    • gcole22

It’s about time they did something for the country and not for their political futures. Obamacare will ruin medicare and cost so much no one will benefit. It is Obama that would shut down the government.

    • Corey Dennison

      Keep telling yourself that, champ.

      • http://politicallyincorrectcanadian.blogspot.ca/ Reverend Ken

        It’s spelt chump.

  • Todd Zeigler

bout time they grew some balls

    • Unicorns and Rainbows

      Yeppers!

  • ObamaFail

How stupid does this guy think we are? They voted to fund EVERYTHING except Obamacare. If anyone is going to shut down the government, it’s the Democrats who want Obamacare to wreck the economy. The real question is, are the lemmings bright enough to pay attention to what’s actually happening? Morons are claiming that Obama’s right and the GOP want a shut down, but the GOP bill will keep the government running, but will stop Obamacare in it’s tracks. Reality is a tough bitch, and the Dems need a good smacking from her.

    • vetgal1970

They aren’t talking to us, they know we aren’t stupid. They are talking to their own constituents who they COUNT on for being stupid and motivated by envy and sloth. And hoping they will be able to keep enough of them that way.

  • O.G. Shocker

GOP Senators need to grow a set or the “party” should “Defund” their campaigns!

  • Axelgreaser

THE DEFUNDING OF O’CRAPCARE RISKS NOTHING…this is just a further measure of what a liar that ‘Tell us about your multiple sex partner’s’ O’Liar actually is. The Commicrat’s are so emboldened by the lawless President they follow his lead in every way and lie straight into camera’s, straight to one another.

  • 24601

Mark Levin should open the show with the Patton music tonight.

Now it goes to the Senate right? This is the part where Senate Republicans have to step up. They have to point out that any shutdown that occurs will be because the Democrats have caused it.

    • Unicorns and Rainbows

…and that they will LOUDLY publicize that fact!

  • Luke

If our government shuts down, please let it be permanent… we the people can do better and deserve better than the brood of vipers in washington.

  • Janson Smithers

The House voted, now the Senate will vote and then Obama will veto. That’s my understanding of how this works.

But I could be wrong…. so if I am, please go ahead and disagree with me! At times like this, being wrong ain’t so bad…

  • David A. Schiferl

Now tell your Senators what they need to do. If you don’t, stop bitchin’. I write my Senator and Rep. on a regular basis. Do you?

    • nc

If you write them once a week, or if you’ve never written them, DO IT NOW!

  • Diablo

The Heritage Foundation has an informative article on what happens ACCORDING TO LAW during a government shutdown. “non essential’ services such as museums, national parks, zoos (although animals are fed and tended) and White House tours are closed – oh – wait! obamao already closed WH tours!

  • leybaterry

Yes GOP …Americans got your back you did good, real good: -) :-)

  • Neely

It’s all well and good but Obama will never sign it.

    • Unicorns and Rainbows

That’s the point. This won’t stop Obamacare, but it will FORCE the libs and Obama to own it completely. Wait until tax time next year. This will have a huge effect. Plus it will let us know who to get rid of on the Right in the Senate. It’s a good thing!

      • Unicorns and Rainbows

HAHAHAHAHA! I LOVE the down votes. The libs are soooooooooo butt hurt today. So funny! Thank you sir may I have another? LOL! Here dude, it’s such a good day I’ll even help ya out and down vote myself.

  • Lord Whitehead

Shut down WHAT government??? The Vactioner Party Government?

  • ObamaFail

The sad thing is that the Dems are pushing Obamacare as hard as they can, but come the 2014 elections, once people are going nuts complaining about how bad it is, Obama and the Dems will blame it’s passing on Republicans, and the pathetic sheeple who vote for them will be dumb enough to believe it.

  • Thundergodfan

Oh NO………Obama is going to take his ball and go home now because no one wants to play his game. :( He’s going to veto it, but at least them when it destroys the economy the Republicans can say we did everything we could to protect you from this Bill!

  • http://politi-kitty.tumblr.com Miss Lee

Senator Mark Warner will be out of a job if he votes to reject the resolution. I sure as heck won’t vote for him.

    • MarcusFenix

Warner has been garbage from the moment he hit the political scene. I’m still embarrassed he came from VA.

      • http://politi-kitty.tumblr.com Miss Lee

I’m not exactly pleased with him, either. This will just be another reason to kick him out in 2014.

  • ObamaFail

Remember in 2009 when Obama was praising that hospital in Cleveland, saying it was the model of how all hospitals will be under Obamacare? Well that hospital is having to slash it’s budget, and might have to lay off a bunch of people. Guess why? OBAMACARE is hurting them. If that’s the model for how hospitals will be like under Obamacare, only a slack-jawed moron will want it.

    • Vitiosum

It certainly isn’t the only hospital being affected in that way. It is apparently the model being followed. All the jumping through hoops to prepare for this fiasco is already causing issues. I don’t even want to imagine what will happen when/if Obamstercare hits full force.

      • eeddggy

WhoDat should get his kneepads on and go “console” Obama.

      • NewWest 123

So what, why waste energy on Trolls… There is no hope for some and they will eventually see that Tyranny knows no difference between people. Most that support him are uninformed, low information, non tax paying freebee hunters and they can never be changed as long as they are on the government dole so I say let them Troll on!!! If you remember in 2010, Oass paid and sent out his minions to trash us and look what happened!?! 2014 is going to throw them way off course and this is why they are coming out in full force lying mode…. They are scared and this is what tyrannical Progressive Libs. do!!

  • MSM

You hear that screeching? That whining? That… oh wait that’s just the House GOP members like Peter King and Duffy.

Can someone please get them a rattle and a bib?

  • D7689

So defunding Obamacare is his new red line? So what if the House just crossed it.

  • Charlene Geren

Finally ” We the people” have representation!!! Woo hoo and much thanks to these great patriots!!!!

  • tops116

They actually did it: the House just listened to the will of the people. Too bad Democrats (who exempted themselves from this nonsense) won’t do the same.

  • artinthewild

Obamacare threatened jobs, necessary employment, benefits, hospitals, doctors, and still, some people are so stupid as to want it. Don’t they don’t understand that Obama doesn’t want it for himself and family, the Representatives opted out of it (we have to pay for their extra ins. even the Union that worked hard to get it in is trying to get out of it. Don’t you wonder why? Because it doesn’t work.

  • MarcusFenix

    I can’t help myself.

Hey Whodat….remember when you said this would never happen?

    Well……there ya go.

  • therain

Poor baby obama. Maybe next time he will think of the American people first.

    • ObamaFail

The American people? Obama has too many illegals and Al-Qaida backed Syrian rebels to worry about.

  • Greg Hoo

It’s about time they got a spine and challenged this job killing joke of a “law”. It’s so incomplete and unworkable that it will only work in the land of unicorns and rainbows.

  • NewWest 123

Now keep pounding Beohner and Cantor to not back down when it comes back!

  • Unicorns and Rainbows

Now understand, this won’t stop it. This train wreck will still go forward, but next year the libs, dems, Obama and all of them will be FORCED to defend a law that over half the country hates fiercely (and that number will be a whole lot more come tax time). Can you say Senate and House majority? How about lame duck? I knew that you could. Can I get down vote?

      Meh, indeed.

  • neoface

Is Obama having a melt down or a pissy fit???

  • Dick Fitzwell

Lets hope the dems in the Senate wise up, and listen to the American people. I doubt they will. They’re too arrogant. They know better than us what we really need. Let them not pass this bill. Then, the ENTIRE government shuts down, and that will be directly on the Democraps. Maybe, after that, people will see the light, and vote the dems out. We can only hope.

    • nc

We can do more than hope. Contact your Senators, even if you’re in a deep blue state. Let them know The People Mean Business!

  • helochappy

Everyone saying that the Senate won’t pass the CR, it doesn’t matter. Congress controls the finances. They didn’t vote to repeal Obamacare, they voted to eliminate funding for it. Senate can do what they want with it, but it’s still a dead horse.

  • Leila Matthews

PLEASE KEEP PRAYING FOR THE SENATE TO COMPLY with the House. It’s not over yet..let him have to stand alone on this.

    • Unicorns and Rainbows

They won’t. But that’s not the point. Wait until November 2014.

  • Hoosierdaddy

Still ranting… but not signing up himself….or having congress participate….

    Barack Obama @BarackObama

Let’s get this straight: Take the opportunity for affordable health care away from millions of people, #OrTheyShutDownTheGovernment?

  • Unicorns and Rainbows

Boy! The libs on Twichy are Butt Hurt as all get out today. My down vote proves it. LOL!

If you live in the district represented by the one Republican who voted no on defunding, get ready and field a primary challenger to oust immediately in 2014. NO FREE PASSES HERE. ANY REPUBLICAN WHO VOTES AGAINST DEFUNDING OBAMACARE GETS THEIR ASS KICKED OUT IN THE NEXT ELECTION.

  • Bama59

I just wish, though I doubt, that when the bill is stripped of the defunding part by the senate and sent back to the house that they will roll it up and shove it in the dem’s eye. I guess I mean I hope they’ll stand their ground come hell or high water. Over 70% of us don’t want the bill anyway, that means that it is a no lose situation for anyone willing to get rid of it by any means needed.

  • joeschmo8675309

We are the greatest nation on Earth. We do need better health care for our people but the current Obamacare does not cut it. It should not mean the end rather this should be the beginning of finding a solution so that all can have health care. For every sick person that we have, that is one less able to work to make this country greater. Push for our Representatives to find the solution but try reading the bill first.

  • David S

Could not think of a better end to a worthless piece of legislation.

    (To Barry) You salty, bro?

    • mike_in_kosovo

      Salty tears of rage, maybe

  • Clayton Doering

Way to go HOUSE!!! — Now Come on GOP Senators….time to dig in! There are more then just a couple of Dem Senators who realize that Obamacare is a “train wreck”. Work with them, reach out to them, plead with them, get them laid or get medieval on their ASSES if you have to……Do whatever it takes! This is too important to back off. You have momentum. Don’t lose it! –

The blowback from this is going massive from the left and the MSM. Do NOT BE AFRAID! And by God…..do not let the left keep pretending the GOP is shutting down the Government just to defund Obamacare.

  • Soul_Tones

His constituency talks that way; they identify with tantrums and consider it to be a show of strength; it even has some typical sophomoric liberal condescension thrown in for good measure.

  • Artie Gaskin

    High fives to the House

  • Johnny lood

its meaninglesss..wont go anywhere..will never be seen in the senate…so im confused as to what the big deal is..wheres the victory

    • Unicorns and Rainbows

That comes next year at election time. This isn’t about getting rid of it today. It’s about forcing Obama and the dems to defend it right before this train wreck is implemented. In 11 days no less. Come tax time next year, even libs will hate this thing once it starts costing them money they don’t have.

  • Unicorns and Rainbows

Libs are out to destroy conservatives. I mean look at the way Obama calls us, American citizens, the “enemy.” The libs don’t just want to win, they want to wipe Conservatism, and Conservatives, out of existence. If we want to get rid of this steaming pile of $hit, we better collectively start getting mean. I mean as mean as rattle snakes. Libs don’t play fair. They hate you and me for not licking Obama’s a$$ like they do. They hate us with a vengeance. If we want to stop the $hit we better start playing by their rules. Which means there are no rules. No mercy. We need to start hating libs as much as or more as they hate us. I already do.

  • Johnny lood

no retreat…from what…from nothing..a meaningless show of emptyness..might as well pass a bill for prayer in school, protection of religious and gun rights, stop gay marriage and abortion all together too..meaningless…a show to their hometown voters…thats it

    • Spinmamma

Yeah, it would be better if they just shut up and went along with the progressives, eh? Don’t even speak. I really liked the part about “protection of religious and gun rights” being a meaningless show of emptiness.

    • Unicorns and Rainbows

Got it Johnny: Lay down. Shut up. Do as you’re told. Don’t protest. Don’t complain. Just agree with the libs and everything will be fine. Ehh?
Either FIGHT or get off the FUKING battlefield.

  • Tony Gramps

yes wonderful will not get past the senate. reform reform reform now.

  • Bantherny

Lets count the many lies that this president told us about the new healthcare law. #1, if you like your insurance you can keep it. WRONG!. i GOT insurance after they passed the law and just got a letter the other day saying that DUE TO THE LAW, i was being dropped and had to get another health insurance plan AFTER the exchange comes out. #2 You can keep your doctor. yeah if you can find one. I had to get a new doctor which was the ONLY one in town accepting new patients. #3 Your rates will NOT go up. BULL$&#@! I already got a 60% rate hike on my plan. what was $168 is now almost $300 a month. That food out of our families mouth for freaking insurance. So many different workplaces are cutting hours of employees because of OBamaCare. So they STILL have to find insurance but now with LESS money. This vote today is a Victory for the people. We can NOT afford this mess nor do we need it right now.. Lets start with putting a cap on how much that doctors and pharmacys charge for their services. THAT would be REAL change. Then move to do a means testing system for cost of insurance. They do it for military, they do it for other things and it works just fine. Do it for Medicare, do it so that everyone has options and not just stuck with whatever the government throws there way.

    • bungopony

“…nor do we need it right now.”AND YOU NEVER WILL!!!

      • Bantherny

We should never need anything like that. It is sad to even think how badly this mess was shoved down our throats.

  • jfedwards

That is a start now kick his ass out of our White House.

  • dannoboy16

Today’s vote took some courage from many House Members. We should applaud their courage and reward them with our support. If it’s not good enough for Obama, its not good enough for the nation. He refuses to negotiate – who the hell does he think he is, Emperor Nero?

    • MadMoto

      Yes

  • bob210bob

The government shutting down is a bad thing? Take a vacation Obama….

  • iVillageIdiot

Wow. Didn’t Obama cancel a picnic or something when Congress refused to overwhelmingly support his Syria idiocy? Now that the House has voted to defund Obmacare–something the POTUS actually cares about–I suspect that House Republicans may find that their parking won’t be validated any more. Such are the scale of consequences in the age of Barrack “unbelievably small” Obama.

  • MarcusFenix

The question now is…are the Senate republicans going to pee their pants and run away…or are they going to follow suit? It’s already looking like they want to cave. Weaklings.

    • Spinmamma

The ranks of the Senate Republicans are full of self aggrandized RINOs

  • George Murrey

Did the pres actually understand what the House was doing, or is he that brain dead? They stopped funding for that stupid bill, but had a stop gap measure for 11 weeks to keep the gov’t working. That guy sure has either a reading problem or doesn’t understand how our gov’t works.

    • MadMoto

Our government isn’t working the way he wants it to… Temper tantrum…

  • Teressa BluesBabe Brewer

I’ll echo Juanita Outlaw-Bedford….HAllelujah and Praise the Lord! Today IS a victory for the American People! WE say NO to Marxism, NO to FASCISM, NO to Socialism. TODAY WE THE PEOPLE SAID YES TO FREEDOM, YES to HONOR, YES to LIBERTY. I can just see that dirty look on Obummer’s seething face now! No cha-ching for him! FAITH IN HUMANITY RESTORED….NEXT BARACK OBAMA OUTTA HERE!!!!!!!!

  • DownriverMichiganExposed

Jimmy Hoffa is partying..where ever he is

Dear Leader Reid and Leader Pelosi:

When you and the President sought our support for the Affordable Care
Act (ACA), you pledged that if we liked the health plans we have now,
we could keep them. Sadly, that promise is under threat. Right now,
unless you and the Obama Administration enact an equitable fix, the ACA
will shatter not only our hard-earned health benefits, but destroy the
foundation of the 40 hour work week that is the backbone of the American
    middle class.

Like millions of other Americans, our members are front-line workers
in the American economy. We have been strong supporters of the notion
that all Americans should have access to quality, affordable health
care. We have also been strong supporters of you. In campaign after
campaign we have put boots on the ground, gone door-to-door to get out
the vote, run phone banks and raised money to secure this vision.

Now this vision has come back to haunt us.

Since the ACA was enacted, we have been bringing our deep concerns to
the Administration, seeking reasonable regulatory interpretations to
the statute that would help prevent the destruction of non-profit health
plans. As you both know first-hand, our persuasive arguments have been
disregarded and met with a stone wall by the White House and the
pertinent agencies. This is especially stinging because other
stakeholders have repeatedly received successful interpretations for
their respective grievances. Most disconcerting of course is last
week’s huge accommodation for the employer community—extending the
statutorily mandated “December 31, 2013” deadline for the employer
    mandate and penalties.

Time is running out: Congress wrote this law; we voted for you. We
have a problem; you need to fix it. The unintended consequences of the
ACA are severe. Perverse incentives are already creating nightmare
    scenarios:

First, the law creates an incentive for employers to keep employees’
work hours below 30 hours a week. Numerous employers have begun to cut
workers’ hours to avoid this obligation, and many of them are doing so
openly. The impact is two-fold: fewer hours means less pay while also
    losing our current health benefits.

Second, millions of Americans are covered by non-profit health insurance
plans like the ones in which most of our members participate. These
non-profit plans are governed jointly by unions and companies under
the Taft-Hartley Act. Our health plans have been built over decades by
working men and women. Under the ACA as interpreted by the
Administration, our employees will treated differently and not be
eligible for subsidies afforded other citizens. As such, many employees
will be relegated to second-class status and shut out of the help the
law offers to for-profit insurance plans.

And finally, even though non-profit plans like ours won’t receive the
same subsidies as for-profit plans, they’ll be taxed to pay for those
subsidies. Taken together, these restrictions will make non-profit plans
like ours unsustainable, and will undermine the health-care market of
viable alternatives to the big health insurance companies.

On behalf of the millions of working men and women we represent and
the families they support, we can no longer stand silent in the face of
elements of the Affordable Care Act that will destroy the very health
and wellbeing of our members along with millions of other hardworking
    Americans.

We believe that there are common-sense corrections that can be made
within the existing statute that will allow our members to continue to
keep their current health plans and benefits just as you and the
President pledged. Unless changes are made, however, that promise is
    hollow.

We continue to stand behind real health care reform, but the law as
it stands will hurt millions of Americans including the members of our
    respective unions.

We are looking to you to make sure these changes are made.

I was listening to a talk radio show today. The host was saying that some European countries, even though they have national healthcare, do not like ObamaCare. I thought this was interesting. Even the World is commenting on what our president does. And he still won’t listen.

    • Rena

Why on earth would he? He thinks he is the Messiah… the Holy one…

      • Unicorns and Rainbows

His problem is he believes his own hype. There’s absolutely no humility there what so ever. Just pure unadulterated narcissism. As I said, he’d throw his own kids to the wolves if he thought it would help him politically.

  • Jean

President Obama can spin this anyway he wants to but he admitted that he pays attention to the polls with a majority of the public opposed to a strike on Syria so he
must be aware that a majority are against his train wreck.

Maybe he’ll get a free Obamaphone.

      • ELC

He’d probably make sure we pay for his phone calls.

    • ELC

Maybe he should then apply for welfare at his nearest Acorn office.

  • Larry Sills

It is about time. Obama Care was to bring down my health care cost. That was bull, lost my group plan 5 days before vote to approve this thing called O/Care. I was paying $739. Now I pay $1725 because we had to go to a Risk Pool through the state of Texas. What a bunch of crap Obama care turned out to be.

  • Bellyn

So, the teflon Don(key) is having a hissy fit? Finally, he just might have to accept some responsibility for his failed policies. Or, just blame it on Republicans. Again….and again….and again…

“Enough already?” Nah, I’ll save that for the radical Dem fringe and “More-important-than-thou” establishment con pundits. Oh, my God! Some members of Congress are actually doing two of the jobs they were elected to do: defending the Constitution, and passing a budget. They must be stopped at once!

    • minowe

Not quite. It’s not actually a budget, just a Continuing Resolution. But they can’t pass an actual budget when the Senate refuses!

  • Guest

Why does it have to be an “either-or” situation? Why can’t we shut down the government AND defund Obamacare? Let’s think BIG, people!

  • Michelle

What I’d like to know is – WHY does OFA get to continue a verified account as Obama on Twitter when it is NO LONGER used by Obama, but is instead used exclusively by a third party? That is so deceptive. Yes, I know they specify that tweets from Obama have “BO” in them, but that hasn’t happened since last year when he had access to the account during his campaign. The reality is, most people see only the account name (@BarackObama) and that it’s verified – and believe those tweets are coming from the president of the United States of America. What a total lie and absolute deception Twitter is allowing to continue.

  • GangstaBot3000

Oh dear, someone needs to explain to the president what the word “avert” means.

  • ELC

Love it…anything that gets under Odumbo’s skin is a plus. Mr. sensitivity can’t take it that his big disaster of a healthcare plan can be defunded. If we wait long enough barryboy will be tearing up. Seems to me there is nothing he has full control over. I’m so proud of the GOP. Stick it to Odumbo. He screwed us its about time we screwed him right back.

  • Henry Felter

It doesn’t risk a Government shut down only a defunding of bad legislation. The only one that will shut down the Government is B. H. Obama

    Who built that????? Boom!

  • Just Another Guy

And when they say “It’s the law” again….let’s point out that abortion was against the law; pot in Colorado was against the law; etc., etc, etc.

He should make the case and get it funded in a separate bill rather than shut down the government, if he thinks he can actually make the case it should be funded.

    • ked5

guess he’s not as dumb as some people think he is. He knows it’s doa if he tries to push funding on it through all by its lonesome.

Is Obamacare even legal as President Obama just cant delay parts of the law and have other parts of Obamacare implemented as schelduled plus he cant grant waivers to whatever groups that he wants to.

    • minowe

If I remember correctly, the law itself grants the waiver power to one of 0’s minions, which is the same as giving 0 himself the power. Doesn’t matter, who would object if the power didn’t exist? (Well, it’s starting to look like the Republicans actually might!! They’re not liking 0’s picking and choosing which parts of the law to postpone till… later, much later, at least after the next election….)

According to the Heritage Foundation, even in a government shutdown, “crucial services will continue without interruption” and that means “all services essential for national security and public safety” like the military and law enforcement, air traffic control, border and coastal protection, emergency and disaster assistance, the US money and banking system and, yikes, even tax collection. Also “mandatory government payments” like Social Security and veterans’ benefits will also continue which means that da’ gubmint workers that process them and provide all the other essential services will still be employed and get paid. It’s da’ gubmint fluff that’ll be furloughed. And dare I say, SNAP benefits will still get paid cuz those are administered through the states anyway.

So what’s to panic over? This shutting down da’ gubmint is another Obumuh libturd strawman.

  • right_on

    It’s really sad…people actually BELIEVE this president. Maybe they could make a simple analogy, like;

Dad: “Here son, there’s just enough money for you to buy all the stuff on the shopping list.”
Son: “Are you serious? There’s not enough money here for me to buy my cookies!”
Dad: “You don’t need cookies. Just buy what’s on the list.”
Son: “You want me to starve (pouts and shuffles away.)

  • tingle007

You have never seen in the history of the United States the debt ceiling
or the threat of not raising the debt ceiling being used to extort a
President or a governing party, and trying to force issues that have
nothing to do with the budget and have nothing to do with the debt.- Barack Obama 2013

Raising the debt ceiling is unpatriotic – Barack Obama 2006

He was using the debt ceiling in 2006 to attempt to defund the war in Iraq. Which he later took over, continued, and saw through to Bush’s appointed withdrawal date.

  • Unicorns and Rainbows

This is very significant. More so than any of the lib trolls here dare to acknowledge.

When will the MSM start to challenge Obama on his imaginary “people” who he claims tell others that “government is irrelevant”!?

  • Bill Phillips

We now know why Obama immediately had his educational records sealed after swindling the ignorant masses into voting for them! IT’s quite simple he FAILED American History 101 ….Our government IS NOT a Democracy!

  • Bill Phillips

The hypocritical Con Artist in Chief …aka Obama …seems to ignore his own false assertion “that America is a democracy” when it comes to Obamacare! IF …we are a democracy as he claims ….why is he ignoring the will of 70% of the American people who DO NOT WANT OBAMACARE!? You can’t have your cake and eat it to idiot!

  • http://www.facebook.com/tluisi1 Teresa Luisi

Finally Boehner and the GOP house leaders grew a pair…The phone lines were overloaded, the emails were in the 100’s of thousands, and donations were going south, so Boehner saw the handwriting on the wall and got some calliones…and did the right thing…They had to do something because the people of this country have had enough, but by the propaganda and the speeches you would not think so…but remember this, Obama is preaching to the choir now…and no one is listening and if the govt shuts down, all essential services will continue…

  • Bill Phillips

The American People rise up and tell Obama: “If you mess with us ….we’re gonna mess with you!”

  • Bill Phillips

    Check out Obama’s new t-shirt:

  • William Bartholomew

I’m ready to go along with the White House. They quote poll
numbers that show widespread disapproval of the plan to defund Obamacare as justification for not going forward with that plan. In that same vein, since there is widespread disapproval of Obamacare, shouldn’t we consider the will of the people and just repeal that law?

  • liberalssuck

Unfortunately Obozo the clown and friends will say tis will shut the government down. Now what we need to do is ask the dumorats how defunding a “train wreck” of a health care bill will shut down the government. Do it publically too.

  • Cobrarog

LOL What the hell did he expect?? He still doesn’t get it!!

Don’t get cocky. King Obama has repeatedly demonstrated contempt for the law and a willingness to engage in the impeachable behavior of ignoring inconvenient-to-his-master’s laws. This vote is just one step in many.

Brothers and sisters… don’t start partying. This is the 41st time then House passed a similar do-not-fund bill… they pass but never get to the senate with a heart beat. It’s just another dumb day in DC.
There’s only one way to get rid of obamacare… and that’s by getting rid of Obama. Impeach, push for resignation, or wait another three years. Those are your REAL choices.

    • Richard StJohn

It’s going to be an extended fight. And you are correct it isn’t over. But the guys in the Senate like Ted Cruz who see Obamacare for what it is are making it very difficult on the Rino’s like McCain for supporting it. Been reading corporate America is basically bypassing it. And let’s face it corporate America is where the money is. It’s where the real power is as well.

  • Gutz_Otoole

It’s interesting and revealing that the hashtag #EnoughAlready refers to criticism of Obama’s policies and not to 17 Gigabucks of debt.

  • rockhillcowboy

What is it with all the news organizations saying that defunding Obamacare is a bad thing??? It’s a government takeover of our healthcare system? And that’s OK?? I’m glad the GOP FINALLY had the guts to stand up!

  • Dru Stefan Stone

  • Coffey Kin

I wish someone above had made the point that the House was not risking a shutdown, but voted to avoid a shutdown, and it is the Senate and White House that risk the shutdown in order to fund the ACA.

  • Susann Rozell

They just did this til Dec cause they wanna be re-elected…then ita all go on as usual

  • Thucydides_of_Athens

    A good first step.

Now the House needs to start defunding duplicate programs (potentially saving the American taxpayer $85 billion/year), Departments that are not Constitutionally mandated (savings unknown, but probably in the 10’s of billions) and regulatory enforcement budgets for regulations that were not approved by the Congress (hundreds of billions, once you really start adding things up).

And force the Senate to either pass or propose a budget.
