    Our prayers for the victims. Tragedy strikes yet again.

    Would it be insensitive, at this juncture, to point out that since Barack Mugabe refuses to build the KeystoneXL pipeline, crude oil has to be transported along that route by train? (To be more specific, trains owned by Obama-supporter Warren Buffett.)

      Yes. Leave public grave-dancing and using a crisis to further one’s political agenda to those other guys – or accept their moral ambiguity as your own.
      My thoughts are for the safety of the victims and first-responders.

      • V the K

        I quibble with the phrase “grave-dancing.” I view pointing this fact out as cautionary, not celebratory (as the left does) since it is a warning that people will be put at risk because of environmental extremism.

        • coreopsis has set in

          With little known about the actual cause of the crash, it seems premature to attach blame “at this juncture.” Suggesting the crash would not have occurred if the pipeline were approved is faulty cause-and-effect reasoning. My use of “grave-dancing” was figurative – and I hope it continues to be – but I would still question the compassion of your timing.

            Question all you wish, my friend, but the post was respectful and appropriate. You folks are losing with all your P.C. “squeamishness”.

          • coreopsis has set in

            The original question – however rhetorical – asked me to determine a level of sensitivity. Playing politics ten hours after the first explosion, with fires still raging and scores missing, struck me as insensitive. Time and a place, etc.
            I couldn’t help but smile at your easy characterization of me. My group affiliations are limited to Lifetime Memberships in a Police Association and the NRA – neither of which are noted for squeamishness or P.C. Neither are they noted for making political points – however valid – before the body-bags are in the morgue.

        And how has that worked out for our side? Just because you point out facts doesn’t mean you lack compassion. People’s attention span is short so if a tragedy like this can be an opportunity to explain to low info voters how the Buffet train deal with Obama has killed the pipeline and opened up towns to this type of potential danger then why not?

        • coreopsis has set in

          The other side does it, so it’s okay? You can go there if you want to, Ma’am, but I’ll pass. As a retired first-responder, I leave politicizing tragedy to other folks.

          • conservativemomma

            How is it “politicizing tragedy” to point out that a train carrying fuel through towns is more dangerous than a pipeline? Those are simple facts. The whole I am more pious than you is wearing a bit thin with me.

            I can’t let the daisy guy do this alone … “Never let a crisis go to waste” HAS to be the mantra of the OTHER guy. If it becomes your mantra, you’re just as much to blame for the dismal lack of intelligent debate in this country. For the sake of your soul and your children, JUST. DON’T. GO. THERE.

    • Joe W.

      Maybe a tad insensitive, I suppose, but it is, nonetheless, important to raise the issue while people are paying attention. Most folks don’t understand the incestuous relationship between Buffet and Barky. They will now.

      • v1cious

        Don’t forget gays! They must have caused this somehow.

        • Joe W.

          No. You gays are not politically inclined to do anything other than squeal about your gay agenda, Princess.

      Hmmm… Insensitive, not really possible, if they have a deal behind-the-scenes….. Jawamax 8<{D}

      My first thought was for the community. My second thought was this is better than a pipeline? While the envirowhacknuts were screaming about ground water they were putting lives at stake.

      • v1cious

        Ok let’s analyze this ridiculous idea that politics caused this. Even if the Keystone was approved, do you seriously believe it would’ve been up and running by now? We’re talking about laying pipe between here and Canada. That’s not even to talk about the paperwork, legal negotiations.

  • Conniption Fitz

    Is sabotage involved? There were plots not so long ago.

      NO!!! NOT…SNIDLEY WHIPLASH! XD (Sorry again..) Jawamax 8<{D}

    It would appear that there has been a rash of “accidents” involving trains as of late. I’m wondering if AQ is behind this craziness.It seems like it’s happening far more frequently.

    Only one word comes to mind: tragic.

    Conductor gets off train minutes before because his shift ended. Waiting for his replacement and the train ‘somehow got released’………..replacement knew not to be there?
    Terrorism?
    With the corrupt media and government we have, we will never know the truth.

    Praying for the people of Lac Megantic….
    But on the up-tick, a possible story line for “UNSTOPPABLE II?” (Sorry, I couldn’t resist….) Wl Colter and (Former Marine) Ryan Scott have to fix a screw-up caused by Oscar Galvin (In this movie, Imposed roles w/Rosario’s Connie), After screwing up right after getting demoted from UNS I… They fail but survive, And Connie $#!+-cans Oscar! Jawamax 8<{D} Just sayin'.. /Rant OFF
