A Democrat blaming the victims? Impossible! Put on your shocked face.

Same as it ever was at Tuesday’s IRS hearing held by the House Committee on Ways and Means. Dems always have a way to excuse the targeting law-abiding Americans.

Hey, Rep. Jim McDermott, how does it feel to be trending for your sleazy asshattery?

Video via the NRCC:

Conservatives were ready and willing to give McDermott the business.

Rep. Paul Ryan took McDermott to task right away.

How did a corrupt partisan douche come to that conclusion? It’s kinda how he rolls.

Well, they were ‘flourishing’: David Plouffe excuses IRS targeting of conservative groups

  • Raymond Gaddis

im afraid Ryan to McDermott is very close to OVERREACH lol

    • ObamaFail

If McDermott was a Republican, then it would be overreach. But seeing as how he’s a Democrat, he could accuse the Tea Party of conspiring to aid terrorism and not be accused of overreaching.

  • Steve_J

Didn’t McDermott have to step down from the Ethics Panel for lack of ethics and end up paying Boehner a million dollars for attorney’s fee’s. Why I believe he did.

    • Grandma HeadInjury

Yeah, but according to McDerpott, Boehner actually kinda had it coming…

  • Texan357

How downright Islamic of him. “You say you were raped, young woman? Very well; your execution is tomorrow.”

    • Stephen L. Hall

Or, in the case of one Pakistani family, the brother was murdered for not murdering his rape victim sister.

  • 24fan

so wanting to be free is a crime? hey gang add another title to the list, we’re criminals as wells as racists.

  • Red Fred

    Enormous @ss cavern.

    • Clayton Grant

His head is stored in his ass cavern.

  • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

Shut up, you Islamist butt-kisser! You deserve to be in a federal pen for your treasonous acts over the last couple of decades!

    • Clayton Grant

What we have here is the total metamorphosis of some in the Democratic party into full, in-your-face, tyrannic suppression of the 1st amendment.

  • Clayton Grant

Rep. McDermott gives a whole new meaning to the phrase, counter-intelligence. Ryan nailed him to the wall and RBPundit was spot on: “Everything that is wrong with DC on full display.”

  • EricBrodin

    What a douchebag!

  • ClinkinKY

    Thanks Seattle.

  • Stephen L. Hall

If you listen to McDermott, it is worse than just blaming the victims.

He is actually saying that Conservative activists should be taxed while Liberal activists should be subsidized.

    • Dana Loraine Cauthen

Not only that but if you follow his logic all money belongs to the government. And they are only letting you keep it temporarily and as much as they see fit. He is a complete disgrace.

  • http://youhavetobethistalltogoonthisride.blogspot.com/ keyboard jockey

McDermott is employing the rapist defense for the IRS? Drawing people to conclude that the conservative groups were metaphorically raped by the IRS. Yeah that’s not exactly a pretty optic to present in defense of the IRS corruption.

I can name numerous Progressive orgs that have gotten tax exemptions. They aren’t controversial ?? The leftist lunatic fringe in the form of McDermott has gone off their “Collective” rockers.

I will remember in November 2014. The wannbe socialists, need to get another shellacking like they received in 2010.

    • Stephen L. Hall

Well, that is the case with collectivists . . . they all go off their rockers together.

      • http://youhavetobethistalltogoonthisride.blogspot.com/ keyboard jockey

McDermott says they should have been expecting this treatment from the IRS, because they were “controversial”. Controversial is in the eye of the beholder. It’s subjective.

I find McDermott’s far left loony position controversial.

I certainly find him employing the rape defense for the IRS corrupt behavior controversial. All McDermott has shown by his statement’s is he can’t be impartial or objective. He’s pure partisan through, and through. Our government (Self Governing) is representative of all citizens not just the ones that hold his creepy lefty viewpoint.

      • Spinmamma

        LOL Good one!

  • capisce

I guess Rosen had it coming too – with his provocative, high-faluting investigative reporting.

    • Jay Stevens

Yes, indeed. Rosen clearly forgot his responsibility to the BOPA (Barack O‘Bama Propaganda Arm.

  • Okie_pastor

If I was one of those Tea Party representatives I would have said at the next opportunity: “let’s let it be known that mr. McDermott is a liberal democrat whose ideology is contrary to the Tea Party, and so it makes perfect sense why he defends the IRS’ efforts to silence them. I wouldn’t say anything about Mr. Gingrich or George W Bush since neither are here to defend themselves. But I would like to know what your interpretation of the first amendment to the constitution of the United States of America is? (silence) I will give your aides ten minutes to prepare your response.”

  • $22639970

Isn’t McDermott the same tower of virtue that violated federal eavesdropping laws against Newt Gingrich? Why isn’t this filthy prick in prison where he belongs?

    • toddm123

Walla Walla would be perfect for this moron.

      • nc

Hey! What did the good people of Walla Walla ever do to deserve that?

        • toddm123

You’re right. I’d hate to pollute the east side of the mountains with garbage like McDermott.

      • $22639970

I was thinking more along the lines of Leavenworth, KS.

        • IBXNJ

          Supermax in Florence CO!!

          • $22639970

I’ll defer to your superior knowledge of Federal penitentiaries. Wait…that didn’t come out quite right.

  • jwmiller

Taking a moment to thank voters in Washington State who elected this hateful moron.

  • IHN

this is the same presumed defense that this sphincter had in mind for his son when he beat up his girlfriend

  • Jack Deth

As if another reason to despise Democrats is needed?

My douche canoe, ass backwards ass hattery!
Let Jim “The Plumber” McDermott show his to you!!!

  • Karl Winrich

What a hypocrite….These are the same people who are absolutely screaming for equal protection for LGBT under the laws but political rivals need not apply?

  • gracepmc

About this ethically challenged McDermott’s response to IRS targeted citizens like the impassioned Karen Kinney– what say you CBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC — will you inform your audience of both sides?

  • HansonBro

    Over-reach faster.

    • toddm123

Overreach HOW? In liberal terms, Republican’s overreaching = bringing it up at all.

      • robcrawford2

To a leftist, exposing their crimes is “overreach”.

        • toddm123

To the Statist left that Elmer belongs to, Republican’s should be seen, not heard. In fact those like Elmer probably feel that Republican’s shouldn’t even be seen.

    • King Leer

      Memo to Blue Team:

      Stop the reach-around.

    • Spinmamma

      We intend to.

    • nc

      Over-reach: Word of the Day

Good Job! You’ve been paying attention!

  • OldmanRick

Don’t blame McDermott for his asininity. However, do blame the useful idiots, sheeple, and gimmedat crowd in Washington state for electing this dustbin to represent that once great state.

  • toddm123

Jim McDermott (C) Washington. We apologize for repeatedly electing our representative of the Communist coalition.

  • cscape

i guess McDermott must be a RACIST…… with his comments he has in effect called the President a LIAR….. after all, two weeks ago Obama told us that what the IRS did was OUTRAGEOUS

  • ClinkinKY

McDermott: “If you hadn’t dressed like that, you wouldn’t have been raped”.

  • LtColO

It’s McDermott’s modus. Harassing conservative folk, whether it be “accidentally” (you know, like via telephone call interceptions and such http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/04/01/boehner.call/index.html) or using the IRS is just second nature to him.

  • Blargette

Evil Sick F&*(. Calling him a douche is a smear against douche kind.

McDermott: If you were not so busy acting conservative and challenging government decisions (for your own good by the way), we would not have been forced to screw you. And besides it didn’t hurt anyway – in fact I think you enjoyed it.

  • tjp77

That could ALMOST be a valid point, if this level of scrutiny had been EQUAL amongst ALL applicants for exemption.

But it was not. It deliberately focused on conservatives AND THAT IS THE ENTIRE POINT OF THESE HEARINGS YOU GODDAMN MORON.

  • tops116

I’ll be sure to remember what McDermott said when Election Night 2014 rolls around.

Wait, this just in: McDermott has released a statement that Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyrone S. Woods were asking for it.

  • DrSamHerman

It curdles my blood knowing that Baghdad Jim is a fellow psychiatrist, albeit one who should know better than to ever blame the victim.

Hey Jim…remember narcissistic personality disorder patients and what you never say in agreement with them?

    Get some CE dude.

  • http://discus.com yourmamatoo

Audit McDermott, and all of his associations.

  • Brother Cavil

The only ‘overreach’ should be to reach over and feed the fool his teeth. This is beyond the pale.

  • Brett the Brit

The left wing, “Better put some ice on that”, school of compassion.

  • CynicOwl

Shorter McDermott: If the Tea Party had just pissed down it’s leg, the IRS would have lost interest.

Once again a Democrat becomes famous for saying something idiotic and pathetic.

  • ernst1776

Where is Democrat and liberal outrage against these idiots?

  • Im_Done

I was watching this morning. I had to turn off the television. I can’t remember being this angry in a very long time.

What a complete and utter douche.

  • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

    It’s what douchebags like Mc DOH! and others do…I’ve been there and done that, several times in my life… Had a legit complaint, but was treated like the problem…. YOU OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED, JIMMY! #RightWard Jawamax 8<{D}

  • vetgal1970

The saddest part? Those witnesses walked in there KNOWING that it would happen. It is part of the Progressives DNA and they just can’t help it. Even when the IRS has already admitted that they were improperly targeting these groups. Is he unaware of the number of and the ideologies of other groups that receive the same tax status that these Americans were seeking? To my knowledge, the only expectation that these groups had was to be treated in the same way as the other groups. You know, Equally.

To me the most frightening part of his statement was to say that these groups were advocating ‘controversial issues’. I NEVER would have thought that advocating for a government that functions in it’s Constitutional box would be considered to be controversial.

    Can we say Constitutional Crisis?

  • marxskeptic

I’m sick as this crap!! It states on the IRS.gov site 501(c)4’s all get approved. And they are allowed to lobby, They are allowed to influence politics. After approval are they then subject to prove where the profits went. Why isn’t anybody in Congress bringing this up? All this is about is getting names of Conservatives to be used to ration healthcare. Or even worse to audit and collect more taxes.

  • Sandy

    Its America Dick head.

  • David J Michel Jr.

    what a dem.

  • HARP2

Sounds like the dems have a war on women.

  • Allan Hamilton

Just when is someone going to point out to these morons in Washington that the pendulum can easily swing against them in the future. No, it’s not a plank in a conservative platform to use the IRS, but it could happen. Do these mental midgets think that weakening the precedent of an apolitical IRS can’t possibly affect them when the tables are turned?

  • BAW

Glad to read he’s trending. But I don’t tweet. When I heard what he said, I set off to find a Washington news source where I could post a comment asking the people of Washington whether they agreed with this idiot. That “we the people” can not be political but it’s okay for the IRS to be political! Still looking for his email address, to tell him what I think. Seriously this man swore to uphold the constitution?

  • tsluf273

    Throw the bum out.

  • Bill Board

I thought Jim McDermott’s comments to the witnesses were uncalled for
and absolutely disgraceful. He, like so many democraps, seems to forgotten who he
works for. The arrogance was astounding.

  • kim

wonder if he says the same thing to rape victims in his district who want guns instead of whistles

  • OLLPOH # UnBanHana!!!!!!!

McDermott was really Advocating the U.S. Constitution and The Bill of Rights wasn’t he…he doesn’t have a care in the world, nor does he have a care in the world about the citizens of the U.S., nor the 70, 000 pages or more of tax code. Yet, it benefits them and only them, for their Posterity, trains, planes, gains, houses, tax breaks, free healthcare for life….just got to stick it out for 3 years and smooooooth sailing on Senator Manchin’s Black Tie Yacht Party-ville awaiting them.

  • http://drawandstrike.blogspot.com/ Brian Cates

I’d like to ask Rep. McDermott: How did all the Liberal/Progressive groups manage to avoid ‘asking’ for it?

  • Michael Wilfong

I would not recommend McDermott as a lawyer for a rape victime. Given his mentality, he would start out assuming she deserved what she got.

  • Dana Loraine Cauthen

From now on this absolute disgrace of a human will be Rep McDbag from WA. Absolutely disgusting every democrat in the country should be ashamed of their party for what took place today in this hearing.

  • Pilgrim9320

I wonder if Rep. McDermott is familiar with the (abbreviated) phrase, “You and the horse?”

  • Ellis Reyes

Sickeningly, McDermott runs largely unopposed in Seattle. His typical margin of victory is 50 points or more. Welcome to my ugly world.

  • James Neal

    Is McDermott senile?
These organizations don’t get a tax break. Their status request is for an
EXEMPTION to avoid double taxation. This was one of the all time stupidest
comments I have ever heard from a government official. Thank you, Paul Ryan for
rebutting this outrageous liberal left looney.

  • James Neal

In a perverse way, McDermott actually made the valid point that these groups were all targeted because they opposed Obama’s agenda. First time we’ve heard a Democrat say who ordered the targeting and illegal discrimination. Who knew that Obama would be outed by a stupid old senile Democrat?

  • jebjr

Even had there been a “flood” of applications, say even ten-fold, that’s no excuse for targeting. In Fed speak, a “flood” of applications means they would have had to get off of the conference gravy train, sit their butts down and actually do their jobs. And there should be no need for additional staff, increased funding nor increased turn-around times. To paraphrase: Poor planning on their part should not equate to emergencies on the taxpayer’s part.

  • Bill Meagher

McDermott needs to be locked up in a nursing home and the key to his room thrown away!

  • Suz Butrad

To McDermott: I had a friend who got raped while walking on a dark street…oh well, her bad, huh
