There’s no contest. This is the best image to come out of Tuesday night’s State of the Union address.

ted-cruz-not-impressed

As Sen. Ted Cruz remained seated and entirely unimpressed with President Obama’s words on immigration reform, a slobbering John McCain jumped to his feet for what Twitchy CEO Michelle Malkin dubbed the “Shamnesty Shake.” We can’t stop watching!

Coming soon, the “Ted Cruz is not impressed” Tumblr?

Make it happen, Internet!

Lovin’ me some Ted Cruz! The look on his face is PRICELESS. >:^)

    • poljunkie♪

Thought bubble—I should of had the root canal!

      • Lady 12

        New meme!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Marcy-Cook/1001619613 Marcy Cook

Is there anyway we can get a reservation in the Hanoi Hilton for McCain?

    • http://twitter.com/die_mich_zwei Spatial Awareness

Even a Demmi “frienemy” of mine says McCain has lost his mind…. Now that’s saying something.

    • TEXANONLY

No crap, hero my asS. Guy is nothing but trash.

    • grais

      He’s been there; done that.

    • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

Even though I don’t agree with McCain’s politics, your comment is very uncouth, that man endured unspeakable treatment while serving his country.

      • TEXANONLY

She is telling it like it is. Enough with this lets feel sorry for the man. You do that, why the real Americans start fighting this war.

        • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

I don’t feel sorry for him. I respect what he endured while he was a POW. Learn the difference you ninny, and if you’ve ever read any of my posts on Twitchy you know I don’t just talk the talk.

          • TEXANONLY

Then you feel sorry for him, I am not going to feel sorry for his butt. I dont care what you do Lisa, I dont have to respect anybody especially one that is a trader to this nation. You respect him for his service years ago and I will hate him for what he has done since. Ok you ninny.

          • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

Reading comprehension must be hard for you.

        • Lady 12

My opinion of McCain is this: he should be respected for his honor, his courage, and his love for America, and stop shooting himself in the foot with his politics. Good soldier, good man, mediocre politician. That said, I’d rather he was president than the sleaze in the White House.

          • David Atherton

Well said. I don’t have to agree with someone to admire and respect them.

      • HalleysFifth

He’s played that card to death for 40 years while backstabbing those who are trying to keep this country from sliding down the statist rathole.

        • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

I don’t care how he “played that card” and I don’t care for his politics. I respect what he endured as a POW, that’s what I’m referring too and his service to the US. Wanting to send a man back to a place where he was held as a POW is still uncouth.

          • HalleysFifth

The “Hanoi Hilton” comment was obviously a joke – and McCain is one too. Lighten up, Frances.

          • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

I’m sorry but when most people are being sarcastic or joking they end the sentence with /sarc or joke. I’m into saying what I mean and not needing someone else to explain what was meant. That’s a liberal habit.

          • Abiss

Me too. Blow it out your ass you hectoring phucking scold.

          • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

Well aren’t you just a ray of sunshine. And maybe you should think about those big words your trying to use as you read through my posts again.

          • aliwilcox

I don’t agree with Lisa’s politics OR it seems, John McCain’s anymore. But I agree that some things just aren’t funny. I know Vietnam era POWs. If you did, you would get the point.

          • Lady 12

If it was a joke, it was not funny.

          • lainer51

            agreed.

      • lainer51

yes, he did and Our Prez LOVED to use that during their 2008 campaign, all the while he was degrading and ridiculing him. Did anyone speak up against that disgusting display? No, too busy drinking the Kool-Aid.. McCain is a war hero but his politics SUCK… nothing more, nothing less.

    • JeremiahPJohnson

Boooooo! Bad form Marcy Cook! You are better than that.

    • Dwayne Jackson

You must be very uninformed Marcy. That man went through hell why held there. Show some respect.

  • LadyMacKeltar

Texans, thank you for sending Senator Cruz to DC. What a class act!!

    • poljunkie♪

What ever they put in the water in Texas….they need to bottle it, and ship it to all 50 states!!!!

      • lcky9

At the very least D.C. their water SUCKS

    • Scott Carroll

Ironic that it’s the white people cheering this sham while the Hispanic sits on his hands. Something tells me he knows something they don’t.

      • AdoEdem

Because white leftists have to continuously prove their “authenticity” and “compassion” by showing off how “not racist” they are and projecting their racism onto anyone who doesn’t parrot the talking points. It’s basically a procession.

    • $41341954

I’m loving Ted Cruz so far. Lets see what happens to him in 2 years. Once we pump him up as a possible POTUS candidate, watch him move to the center (ie Rubio & amnesty).

      • Billie Slash

He was actually born in Canada–not eligible for POTUS.

        • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001527331179 Scott Erskine

And where was this sham were saddled with now born?

        • $41341954

Born to American parents. McCain was born in Panama. Considering it seems that no one has come up with a definition of natural born citizen (ie. born in the US, parents born in US, military child abroad, father as citizen), I would imagine that Cruz could get by.

You’re welcome! He can hold his own and then some!

  • V the K

It’s amusing how the left derides Ted Cruz as a “grandstanding showboater.” Compared to Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin, he’s a wallflower.

    • lainer51

      HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HARP2

McCain should have retired years ago……his brain did.

    • lainer51

      For sure

    • abbyroad

We tried during the last election. He was too well funded and he looked like a sprinter with the speed he moved to the right with his ads.

    • L R

Still have lots of respect for McCain and his distinguished military service, including POW. In the old days, reaching across the aisle was admirable and successful to get things done. Now, it’s just a sham because the dems expect the reps to reach the whole way!

  • Charm4sure

If only we had a stage with a trap door for the politicians that we would like to get rid of. We could have dispensed with 3 of them right there.

  • QWYS (Hydralisk of the Swarm)

With appreciation for his past service to this country and the utmost respect for what he endured at the hands of the North Vietnamese …
This is why the state of Arizona needs to replace Sen. McCain. The need to find their own “Ted Cruz”.

    • David Atherton

He’s earned a long, happy retirement. The sooner he gets started, the better.

      • BeautifulAmerica

Consider his voting record before wishing him a happy retirement at your expense. He’s responsible for damage to our country, Vet or not.

      • Lady 12

I could not have put it better myself.

There’s something wrong with how the GIF displays on this site (on Firefox anyway). One of the frames is about half as big as the others, and flashes by near the upper left-hand corner once per second (roughly). Or is it just me?

Edit: Looks like it’s been fixed! 2/16/13

    • lainer51

      just you I think

      • R0nin

Weird, because it looks normal on other sites, just not here (it’s even broken when clicking on “view image”).

    • Lady 12

I’m seeing the flashes in the upper left-hand corner too. I think that’s when it starts over?

    • David Atherton

That’s the subliminal message that the Administration put in. It only works on brain dead Obama zombies. It gives them detailed instructions on what to think. Normal, thinking, rational people just see an annoying flash.

  • TomJB

I skipped the ponies and just watched the dog show on USA.

    • lainer51

Me too, they were adorable, unlike anything seen at the slob-fest SOTU..

  • alinskythis

I swear they look just like a bunch of performing seals.

They’re happy because they know they are getting a sardine once “the world isn’t watching.”

    • AdoEdem

      That’s precisely what’s going on.

  • alinskythis

Someone put The Hook to these geezers, already.

  • BorderLine Guy

Geez, if they made this a bit longer you’d see Lindsey Graham bow.

  • Patsplacepp

    GO CANADA!

  • poljunkie♪

John Mc Cain doin’ that happy dance is disgusting.
Where was that energy when he was running against Obama?

    Ted Cruz! You rock!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000806411470 Cotha Prior

I am surprised that Graham is applauding. Why? Good for Ted Cruz

    • StopThisMadness

Don’t be surprised, Cotha. At today’s amnesty hearing, Graham declared the border was secure and it was time to move on. He’s the ultimate lying traitor, along with his amnesty pushing clown posse.

      • Lady 12

I think Obama’s the ultimate lying traitor. Graham’s just deluded.

  • BillBissenas

McCain next Shumer, dancing like a loon. Vomit.

  • Lulubi2012

Senator Ted Cruz, you’re my hero!!! Can we clone you?

    • MohammedTheTeddyBear

Indeed! One good one in the whole bunch, 99 more to…..

I can’t stop watching this, it’s like the bongo monkey and grumpy cat went to congress.

  • Cruz2016!!!

We need more Ted Cruz and Rand Paul’s and it’s about time to be rid of McCain and other establishment RINO republicans…this gif says it all!

  • vsdgrandma

did not watch but this is priceless.

  • RevDrEBuzz

    wow, mccains behavior is bizarre.

why the hell is he so happy?

  • http://www.facebook.com/brett.mcmicken Brett McMicken

first, schumer looks like a three-year old clapping and, second, what is graham looking at?

    • lainer51

He is awed by the size of Schumer’s feet..

  • BeautifulAmerica

What is Wrong with these idiots?

Cruz is the only one with a brain and common sense. The others make my skin crawl. Vote them out.

Ted Cruz, please come to Kalifornia, we desperately need the likes of you!

  • poljunkie♪

I’ve looked at this gif at least a half dozen times today and it still makes me laugh.

  • Raye09

I nominate Ted Cruz for best “cut the BS” moment ever. The McCain sake is creepy BTW.

  • proudhispanicconservative

How much longer are we going to have to put up witn MCain, this old turd should retire already.

  • http://www.facebook.com/raporrazzo Robert Anthony

In my first posting here on Twitchy, from the People’s Republic of CT-Stan, where this Yankee fan still shows the New England Yankee spirit taken away by big banks, morally bankrupt politicians and welfare whores all I have to say about Ted Cruz is this….

    CRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUZ!

  • Linda Diaz

I beg to differ. Ted Cruz is another Rand Paul. Totally extreme and wrong for America. I am from Texas and he squeaked by the Democratic candidate whose campaign was underfunded. Too bad the Dems didn’t have a big enough war chest against the Tea Party extremist narcicist. It’s gonna be fun to watch this 2nd rate nasty excuse for a human in the 2016 primaries running against Rand Paul and Marco Rubio. Can’t wait for that circus to begin.
