If you’re viewing Twitchy in one of our mobile apps, you might not be able to see the tweets in this post.

No need to notify Super Booker. This week, Twitter rolled out a new feature that turned out to be more of a bug in our apps. We’re aware that tweets haven’t been loading properly and our app developer is working on an update.

Thanks for sticking with us. The update should be available to all of our app users soon.

Update, 1/30/13:

This happens when you hire right-winger software developers to make apps! Stick to unionized San Francisco liberal devs!

No, no, it is clearly a sign that Twitchy has gotten too powerful for the likes of those hollyweird lamestream media liberal elites and that marxist commie fascist kenyan usurper is personally hacking it!!!11111!!!!!

      Unionized software developers?

HAHAHA Can’t hang with real developers? Skills starting to slip and too lazy/entitled to keep them fresh? Join the Union of Liberal Developers!

No srsly…HAHAHA how pathetic of a developer do you have to be to need the “services” of a union to ensure you get good pay as a software developer?

      • GaryTheBrave

Union of Designers, Developers, Engineers, and Resource Servers (UDDERS).

    • GaryTheBrave

Yeah, all the left-wing software developers were still on vacation after hacking the voting machines.

Great. I was worried. I love using this app on my ipad.

FINALLY. But if it’s an issue with tweets this week due to the Twitter fix, then why has the Twitchy failure to load been an issue since at least the beginning of the year?

    • Trionic

There has been a series of issues that we’ve been dealing with. Tweets are stored locally at Twitchy (in two places), but the apps were pulling from the less reliable of the two. We finally added a fallback to twitter feature which helps some. – although that is subject to rate limits, which I’m hitting pretty regularly.

Bottom line is this: the apps get more tweets now than they used to, and the twitter fallback really helps. I know this latest issue looks like the same issue but it isn’t. I’ve got one more iteration so the apps render deleted tweets more consistently – am waiting for approval on a plugin update for that update.

Sorry it takes so long. We had a fix ready on day one, but it just takes time for these things to get through the App approval process. 7 to 10 days on average for the iOS App Store, and about 5 days for Amazon. Google app was out a few days ago, if anyone wants to send me feedback on that (how it is working with the changes), I would appreciate it.

Actually, I have the new app from Google play and am still having load issues. I cleared cache and data and same thing. Next I’m going to uninstall and reinstall.

Thanks for the info – I’ll go take a look and see if there is any remaining issue with that app. It definitely got the least attention since it seemed to fix pretty readily. If you wouldn’t mind letting me know the version of Android you are using and any issue specifics, that would be great.
