World Aides Day? Now that’s a cause we can untie behind!

TV “chef” Sandra Lee meant well, but her semi-homemade spelling of “AIDS” didn’t escape the notice (or the mockery) of the Twitterverse.

Indeed. Perhaps Lee’s boyfriend, New York Gov. Cuomo, has an aide he could spare?

The tweet was deleted from Lee’s account, but Twitchy is forever.

Just so you know, Lee says she wasn’t hitting the sauce.

  • It’s just Debbie!

Two Words, KWANZA CAKE. Youtube it.

    • Belinda Henry

      haha gross

    • Lisa Dean

Them corn nuts made it extra special /sarc

    • RadicalRebelWhoMeToo
      • cgraham77

I like the idea of “semi-homemade” (being the avid microwaver that I am, lol), but damn, that cake looked nasty! The comments on the video are pretty hilarious though XD

      • digitalPimple

        Ohhh ouch..

      • gr82cu2

OMG that looks totally disgusting!!!! As a lover and baker of angel food cakes that are light as a feather I’m highly offended. :-)

      • Maria

I hate myself for saying this and I mean no offense to anyone, but I would eat that cake. Sorry, but I would. :-( I am a cake wh**e. Even though it looks like total shyt. Okay I just want the chocolate frosting.

  • medicinewomantwo

    She meant well.

    • KansasGirl

      I hope this is sarcasm.
If she meant well, she would expose the majority of behaviors that cause AIDS…then tell the “uniformed” “yugins” to avoid these lifestyles.

      • medicinewomantwo

So instead of a tweet you want a full page ad, a blog, what? Maybe she cares but doesn’t feel she is in the position to be an activist or educator. Damn, you have issues. You need to concentrate on yourself!

        • KansasGirl

“Maybe she doesn’t feel she’s in a position to be an activist”? LOL.
The woman lives with the Governor of New York, pal.
Furthermore, the only issues I have is with you and Sandra Lee.
          Don’t like it? Tough.

          • medicinewomantwo

Then you have issues. Because you don’t know either of us. oh, and FYI I am married to a 33 year retired military man and inspite of the rank he obtained, I didn’t give orders.

          • KansasGirl

          • Lisa Dean

I think she’s saying she’s not an OSMW (overly sensitive military wife) who wore her husband’s rank.

          • medicinewomantwo

            Exactly, thank you!

          • KansasGirl

            Oh really?
That’s what you got out of her rambling nonsense.?
Furthermore, I could care less about her or her husband’s rank or sensitivity.

          • Lisa Dean

Yes, that’s what I got. It’s a military thing not everyone understands.

      • mhojai

Precisely! Instead of supporting “coping mechanisms,” discouraging the behavior that accounts for it would be MUCH more helpful, and , actually “caring,” rather than sanctimonious pretense.

        • KansasGirl

Yet we have medicinewoman2 blathering about being married for 33 years to a military man, and in spite of his rank she doesn’t give orders.
          Whatever that means.

  • Jack Deth

    Poor Sandra Lee.

She had such potential fifteen years ago when she was an up and coming entrepreneur struggling to sell her wares and make a profit. Sandra was a shining example of Capitalism.

Then the Left got their hooks into her and sucked out her brains!

Curse you, heathen Leftist Brain Suckers!!!!

    • kch50428

Spot on. Her life story, and conquering life’s challenges… and now she consorts with Cuomo.

    • lainer51

so true… I read her bio and she grew up very poor but through hard work and perserverence, built an empire and became a very successful entrepreneur (although according to Barry, she DIDN’T build that). So sad to see her lose her way and go to the “other side”; one can surmise that’s probably due to dating a hardcore lib…

    • TundraThunder

And that nasty lack of spell check auto-change. Technology, like math and spelling, is hard.

  • Lisa Dean

I guess she’s more worried about the “uniformed” young than the uninformed young. Aunt Sandy might want to step away from the cocktail bar.

    • kate_middleton

Ha! I totally missed that typo. Ridiculous.

    • Rella

The uniformed young would be the liberal brownshirts. Or maybe the purple SEIU or whatever the color dejour for the union rabble – was it green at the massive (cough) Wal Mart rallies last week?

      • Lisa Dean

Yes, it was green last week. I remember seeing a video of a reporter trying to interview the green shirts. All they kept saying was “talk to someone in a green shirt”.

      • Mr. Grammar/SpellCkr

        That’s du jour.

  • KansasGirl

Where can I “get me” that uniform?
I bet one of Govenor Cuomo’s aides’ can help me.

  • stuckinIL4now

I wouldn’t necessarily call her a chef–she once concocted a “semi-home-made” lasagna using cottage cheese–ugh! And does she know that A-I-D-S is an acronym and what it stands for?

    • kate_middleton

My favorite (beside the famous Kwanzaa Cake of course) is when her cocktail was a glass of Hpnotiq liquer with some blueberries in it.

  • $23629333

Living with “aides” can be unhealthy, and even dangerous to your health. If you hire someone without properly and fully vetting that person, you could be sorry. We’ve all seen the stories of aides gone bad.

    • Lisa Dean

I did not have sexual relations….Oh wait, that was an intern….

  • JM_in_WASH
  • digitalPimple

I prefer to just throw my phone at aides.

    • CherDash

OK, so are you Naomi Campbell or Russell Crowe?

      • Lisa Dean

I think that was sarcasm from @digitalPimple:disqus

  • Hiraghm

It COULD be that the auto-speller got her.

    • mdtljt

That may very well be the case for the aides/AIDS fubar, but not the uniformed/uninformed issue. A quick proofread of the text before you send it out is ALWAYS a good idea…although, if everyone did that, we wouldn’t have the hysterical…

      • RightThinking1

As an aside (perhaps weirdly), Oldsmobile enthusiasts refer to large-block engines as LBO’s (Large Block Olds), and small blocks, as SBO’s. My spell checker inevitably changes every SBO reference to SOB.

  • louisiana_mom

Instead of a world AIDS day, can we have a World Spelling Day? Geeesh!

  • MB

No one should tweet while drinking a cocktail – and she surely had one in hand.

    • lillymckim

      Yup, TUI

  • kate_middleton

Ladies and gentlemen, the first lady of the great state of New York.

  • GerryMaine

I’ll bet that ‘World Aides” day is something President Clinton could get behind!

    • Lisa Dean

  • dmacleo

south park jared has aides episode comes to mind :)

    • Maria

I remember that from long ago! Hahaha.

    • Brian Roastbeef

      First thing I thought of…

And now it appears all South Park watchers are cats.

There are waaaay too many chefs on tv and in the bookstore. By the way, anyone remember the diet product called AIDS? They were popular in the 70’s and early 80’s.

    • TexSizzle

  • Dandapani

I like her sister, Sarah, better. Don’t you? Nobody doesn’t like Sarah Lee!

  • michael loehrer

I have never in my 67 years known anyone who had AIDS. For me it’s like someone having the bubonic plague. If 2% of the people are gay and three fourths of men get the disease what’s the big deal. It’s a personality responsibility to keep your pants zipped or do it to yourselfl.

    • Maria

It hits heteros too. Some innocent people unknowingly get it from even their spouses.

      • mhojai

So, again, rather than discourage adultery and encourage personal responsibility, millions of tax dollars should be spent for those who are irresponsible?

        • Maria

Adultery should always be discouraged and personal responsibility encouraged. Like that will ever happen, sadly. In the meantime, what about the innocent spouse or significant other who contracted it? Or even children who contracted it from their mother? Should they be set aside?

        • GTFOBigGovt

Adultery? In some of these places in Africa they don’t even have clocks, which is why the old cocktails weren’t effective.

    • GTFOBigGovt

Did you selectively miss the part about “WORLD” [AIDS day] ? Africa alone has 70% of the AIDS cases last time I heard.

It has nothing to do with gays – male or otherwise. While I am personally against my tax dollars being spent by DC on everything they can think including health crises in other countries…I also recognize that the AIDS disaster affecting women and children in places like AFRICA cannot be blamed on gay men.

I’m quite sure that if the women in Africa knew they could, they would avoid sex and AIDS and having babies and starving and not having drinking water or medical care, and but it doesn’t exactly work that way.

      • MissDiane47

Sorry, Ali … Gay men in the US were the first to contract AIDS back in the late 1970s. Do some homework on it.

  • Penny Robinson Fan Club

LOL, I read that as “Sara Lee” at first!

Ah yes, AYDS. Just read about ’em. When the epidemic hit; they went off the market.

  • JeffWRidge

I hear that Jared has aides.

  • TocksNedlog

    Actually, it denotes ‘egg salad’.

  • Lawrence Malcolm

Wonder if I’ll get this comment deleted too, but here goes:
My sympathy and support go to prevention and education for the innocent children and adults – not for the perpetual treatment of those who become infected because they engaged in immoral homosexual/straight behavior and then knowingly and maliciously pass on their malady to others. There, I said it.

  • Patricia Rhudy Cook

Perhaps the Governor of New York needs to approve funding for Assistant Awareness Week.

  • Patricia Rhudy Cook

  • TheOriginalDonald

    Bless her heart.

  • smb04d

    Semi-homemade with Sandra Lee…
