Obligatory Petraeus punning from the New York Post following the CIA director’s admission of an extramarital affair.

The Daily News also got in on the action, but there’s really no competing with the Post.

Sorry, Daily News, the New York Post wins this round.

Has to be an expat British tabloid writer. Americans don’t quite do the crude yet hilarious as outrageously as the British press.

    • colliemum

      True, dat!

  • Steve_J

    I’m sorry, but that’s funny.

    I LIKE it!!

It’s funny, and he’s deserving, but was there anything with Obama after Benghazi like:

    “4 Dead, Obama in Bed”

    “POTUS Played Wii During Benghazi”

“He Watched Them Die With WiFi”

    • http://twitter.com/kimpriestap Kim Priestap

      Those are all excellent.

  • Elizabeth

Every one says that General Petraeus is honorable, well, where is the honor for his wife??? He used his man parts instead of his man smarts!!!

    • http://twitter.com/kimpriestap Kim Priestap

My husband, a divorce attorney of almost 20 years, suspects this was just the first time Petraeus got caught. Granted my husband is very jaded after all this time, but he’s usually right about things like this.

      • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

It’s the same with most scandals, whether it’s booze, drugs or sex. When they get “caught” it wasn’t because they just started that behavior.

        • SpinMeNot

You can tell the quality of a man by the company he keeps. Anybody that Obama wants in a spot as critical to his ability to rule by fiat, well, that should tell you “We the People” don’t want that guy in that position.

    • cgraham77

Not just the honor for his wife, but also for his country. He KNOWS that something like this opens him up to the potential for blackmail…and this compromises National Security! It also compromises National Security in that she had access to sensitive information. Really? How sloppy can you get! How can you be so stupid as to allow your “lover” to have access to emails and whatnot containing classified info?!

And basically now this is what’s happening…the FBI had this info all along, and anyone who thinks otherwise is naive. Now, the WH found an opportune moment to USE the info against him. Great timing, isn’t it?! Now he won’t be testifying in Benghazi incident. How convenient! The WH wants him as far away from the testimony as possible, because it will implicate Obama. So, don’t expect there to be any subpoenas!

This “honorable” man made a horrible judgment that goes far beyond ruining the sanctity of his own marriage.

Krauthammer was right! Now that there’s a sex scandal, the MSM will start covering (someone RELATED to) the Benghazi murders!

    • http://twitter.com/yahneverknowCB yahneverknow

Krauthammer is pretty much always right. It’s disturbing.

Chris Matthews will be all over this since it involves sex and he’s still a virgin.his vagina must be tingling somethin awful.

Only if there is an electrical short in the Ben-Wa balls.

I love you people sooooo much.

Watch how the liberal media conveniently forgets that adultery is a private matter and not subject to public ridicule and discourse and tattoos a big red letter A on Petraeus’ forehead. This had been what they suggested during the Klinton impeachment.

    • redheadgrl

Yes. “It’s only sex, what’s the big deal?”

    • SpinMeNot

Here’s the rest of the story — I believe Jezebel is still a reserve/guard officer. Adultery is still a punishable offense under the UCMJ.

      just sayin…

  • Maria Seeger

Oh Snap, Tabloids! You couldn’t get this one on your own? I’m sadly disappointed in you. Can’t imagine you’re so lazy you can’t sniff out a government scandal on your own, but have to rely on the WH to give it to you.
Note to the Obama administration: Next time you want to create a REAL: distraction, leak the affair to the tabloids first, then wait for the media coverage to start so that he can be forced to resign in disgrace. By the time the media gets through with him, Benghazi will be completely forgotten. Who does your PR anyhow? He or she should be fired. No subtlety at all.

    • http://twitter.com/yahneverknowCB yahneverknow

This is why I think Petraeus decided to do this himself. He screwed up their game plan by taking the scandal out of play.

  • http://twitter.com/yahneverknowCB yahneverknow

Honestly, I think he scandalized himself to get out from under Obama’s finger. Considering this affair was probably ended before he was to be the CIA head, there’s really no reason for anyone except Petraeus himself to bring it up.

I think he wanted to be free to say whatever he wanted to.

(Yes, I know I’m in the minority on this opinion.)

    • Teresa Davis McCormick

my husband and i were talking about this. I think he wanted to get out and this was a convenient excuse to do so. I hope he plans on spilling the beans on what he knows now. Also thought he might be feeling someones finger getting ready to throw him under the bus for Benghazi.

      • http://twitter.com/yahneverknowCB yahneverknow

Yup. And it appears that people that know Petraeus well and are willing to talk in public about this think the same thing.

Basically, yes, the guy eff-ed up by having the affair, but he’s too honorable to lie for the Obama administration under oath.

(FYI before naysayers descend – the hearing he testified in on Sept 14 was not done under oath.)

        • http://www.facebook.com/steph.vt.9 Steph VT

I hope that you are right about Petraeus having the honor to tell the truth.

          • http://twitter.com/yahneverknowCB yahneverknow

I hope so, too. Can’t really tell with all the stuff that keeps coming out!

Then again, most appear to be assuming that if Broadwell has any classified info, it had to come from Petraeus. She has some serious security clearance all on her own and I’m also positive that she has made other *ahem* friends(?) along the way? She probably has many other sources, not just him.

  • http://Twitter.com/jkerrysforehead John Kerry’s Forehead

I still wonder why he quit over this. Clinton didn’t quit…I smell a rat.

    • http://twitter.com/yahneverknowCB yahneverknow

      and it’s under the desk.

  • Elizabeth

Isn’t DC a big soap opera drama? Every week, something new. Stay tuned for the next episode!!

  • redheadgrl

Who else thinks there is a concerted effort to tear down Petraeus’s reputation in teh press/media so he will have no credibility if questioned about Benghazi?

    • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/555HP3NPFJ2E7MRU4CZUN7GSEU James H

Me – certainly part of it – no bout a doubt it.

      • Teresa Davis McCormick

me too. I’m thinking he has more morals than the libs already for admitting it. He quit. So leave him alone.

    • VoteVictory

You think? This is the Chicago way.

  • CainCan

So the man had an affair. Who quits their job just because they are busted having an affair? Even Bill Clinton didn’t quit his job. If ANYONE should have, he should have!! This is ludicrous – but then again, this is coming from the same folks who blamed Benghazi on a Youtube spoof. Go figure.
