Many victims of Hurricane Sandy still have no electricity and are unable to find food, clean water and fuel to power generators and heat their homes. Others have no homes to go back to at all.

But never mind all that. It’s time to prioritize. Won’t somebody think of Geraldo Rivera’s fish?

Here’s a tip, jackass:

Update:

Since you were all on the edge of your seats wondering about Geraldo’s poor fish, he decided to tweet a douchey update:

  • Obamaroid_Ointment

Hey Geraldo, fry your fish & feed them to the hungry.

    • 2ifbyT

Exactly what I just tweeted him.

    • Dio Heerai

OH THE HUMANITY …I heard there was a free generator in AL CAPONE’S VAULT Geraldo

      • thetreyman

damn. i should have read down a little further before i commented above. you beat me to it.

Everybody is doing what they think necessary and just because we might have different priorities, not sure it’s fair to condemn someone for wanting to save their fish…to each his own. He doesn’t have to buy generators for everyone in NY or NJ…I’m sure he does his fair share (or more than) to help others. Quit judging.

    • YeahWeWill

Another person who is not a very deep thinker.

Why can’t someone care for both? I can’t imagine why people resent someone for caring about their pets also.

TWEETING about the stupid fish and needing a generator for the stupid fish, was pretty thoughtless when there are people needing generators to survive. GET IT

Sept 5, 2007 Geraldo Rivera to Michelle Malkin, “It’s good she’s in D.C. and I’m in New York,” Rivera sneers. “I’d spit on her if I saw her.”

      • Brent Guthrie

Maybe if I ever meet Geraldo in person, there will be a chair handy.

    • Dio Heerai

AMBASSADOR STEPHENS was “SOME DUDE” but Geraldo’s FISH need a generator

      • jenndee

Ambassador Stephens was the first person I thought of. Geraldo is so cold and uncaring about our Ambassador and Seals killed, yet even if he does care about his fish, doesn’t see how crazy it is to tweet it out to the World. Idiot lib….completly removed from reality.

  • radjahshelduck

Hey folks, I’m a former zookeeper and I can’t get angry at Geraldo over this. Talk to the people who worked at the zoo in Miami when Hurricane Andrew hit, or the folks at the zoo and the aquarium in New Orleans during Katrina; they’ll tell you stories about how even though they knew humans were suffering–and even though many of them had damage to their own homes–they wanted to do everything they could to make sure their animals were okay. As a matter of fact, they lost a bunch of fish at the New Orleans aquarium. Geraldo’s mistake isn’t his actions, it’s that he was very foolish to put that on twitter.

    • Brandon Billings

Difference is you were saving animals you cannot buy at a pet store. Plus a zoo is a business. If Geraldo said ” I need a generator to save my Koi fish business” it would be a different story…..

    • B.J. Newton

      forurluv
he cried in NOLA cause it was BUSH, can’t goto to the Island and cry because that would tarnish his BFF and Butt Buddy, OBAMA! This guy has lost all creditability with me when he opened his mouth to defend BFF over Bengazi, now we are worried about KOI. He is JACKWAGON!!

      • Hiraghm

He lost credibility with me when he incited to murder on his talk show.

    • Ponsonby_Britt

He cried because it makes for ‘good TV’.

  • David Simpson

    Whaaa. Selfish for fish.

  • SpaceRacer423

to the dumbasses supporting Geraldo here in the comments: STFU!!

Seriously you people are worthless tools.

Its fine for this clown to want to save his fish,
however its ignorant, tactless, and shows no self awareness what so ever for him to be rubbing people’s noses in the fact that his stupid fish are getting better care than Staten Island.

    • soJa

How dare you use logic when talking to the left. They aren’t wired for it. Just like a conservative to discriminate against the disabled; probably racist too.

  • http://twitter.com/Droguta Anna

I honestly think he was just posting that without really thinking about how it would sound. Geraldo’s never been the sharpest tool in the shed… he says a lot of stupid shit, so this is no surprise to me.

  • JM_in_WASH

After that comment Geraldo I would be more worried that someone would try to “lynch” your koi. How much more do people need to see how out of touch libbies are?

  • Guest

I would rather GIVE a generator to a needy family than SELL a generator to this guy. Take the Kois to Vegas. I’m sure you will find sympathy there. They’ll probably throw a fundraiser for the desperate Koi.

  • $92510698

Actually appreciate that Geraldo is concerned for the fish. It’s responsible “pet ownership.” A small generator for a fish pond, would certainly not be powerful enough to do humans much good. Get him when he deserves it, but he should get a free pass on this one.

    • bluewaternavy

A”Small” generator can also keep refrideration going-certainly water pumps for domestic water. Depoending on the heating system, it could keep a household furnace or boiler running.

      • $92510698

You’re sounding a bit like a lib here, demanding what other people do with their money and belongings. Maybe Bloomberg can send those huge generators over.

        • Sheerie Knoll

Criticizing the man for being selfish, self-centered, and thoughtless, is not telling him how to spend his money. It is pointing out that the man is selfish, self-centered, and thoughtless for TWEETING about the stupid fish when people are suffering.

    • YeahWeWill

He is an arrogant self-centered individual tweeting about his damn fish when people are suffering . He should zip it but being the narcissist that he is, he probably truly believes we all breathed a sigh of relief for him. Jerk!

    • JustLikeAnimals

Geraldo is a special breed of sleazy slime.

  • JM_in_WASH

And it’s not that he shouldn’t be concerned about his Koi, the problem is when people are dying, in pain by losing everything he doesn’t show any concern about REAL people by his tweet.

  • John (it true me am)

Saving his koi is actually fine. He has every right to protect his investments, and koi are not cheap. The problem is that in this brave new Twitter world he actually thinks it deserves mention.

    • Hiraghm

The problem is, he’s on the side that condemns the “haves” from spending the money they earn as they please.

      • drschuetz

Actually, he’s on the side that is a “have” and wants to spend “our” money as they please.

    • Kev_H

You can get little koi cheap but you have to take care of them for years until they get big. They can live more than 50 years and get more than 3 feet long, but if you buy I bought some little three inchers for $3 each at Petsmart. I live in VA and was worried about mine during our power outage this summer. Once I have them for 10 or 20 years, I’ll really be concerned if something happens.

  • http://twitter.com/RealEstateFreak RealEstateFreak

Sin vergüenza con una gran confianza en sí mismo Geraldo, who are you? Please apply to MSNBC, they need an advocate like you.

Funny that I am reading all of this AFTER his weekend report from Staten Island. I wonder if he brought those people his pond’s generator. I wonder if he was even going to go there before his twitter blew up.

  • GaryTheBrave

Anyone have a recipe for Koi?

To try to be fair maybe Jerry Rivers did tweet about the problems of the survivors. TBH, I haven’t had any time to watch much of Fox or any news lately.

  • $6903134

I had a Koi pond a long time ago. They live for years and are giant. They are friendly and like to be touched. In my case a new yard service came (no, I was not rich, just newly divorced) and hadn’t told me they were coming. So the guy stood outside the fence and sprayed weed and feed into the yard over a 6 foot fence. When I came home my tiny pond was littered with dead Koi. It was horrible. In Geraldo’s case he would be watching these fish come to the surface, gulping for air and slowly dying as they gasped for breath. Hopefully, in America we have enough resource to keep fish and humans from going through agony. I’m glad he saved his fish.

    • $92510698

Thank you. I’m getting weary with people on both sides deciding how other people should spend their own money.

    • seek456

You seem to miss the point. Don’t care if he’s got koi or guppies, use your head before you hit the send button.

When people are suffering terribly because they have no heat – don’t tell us how rich you are, or what is important to you. It was ludicrous and downright stupid.
Nothing to do with the fish btw.

Now – do you get it? I’m sure he could have screamed out to his loving family, as he slammed the door that he was going to save the fish – that would have covered it.

      • YeahWeWill

        Exactly! Well said.

Geraldo IS a D-bag, but why doesn’t he go here:

And make some contacts. I’m sure there might be someone with power that could babysit his fish for awhile.

If not, put them in the river. They are carp.

And the fact that he was too dense to realize the insensitivity of his comment, given the current situation, speaks volumes to his character as well.

  • cityflat

Geraldo Rimierda is a joke and a sold out. Now his fishes are more important than people affected by the hurricane as was his coverage on Libya trying to exculpate odumba from the responsibility about the people that were killed in Benghazi. At Fox G. Rimierda went as far as requesting an apology for odumba from those that dared to question odumba and his cover up of the Benghazi scandal.

  • hbnolikeee

Geraldo ” Jerry ” Rivera proves much like Jerry Brown that all the insanity earlier in their careers comes back to haunt us when they revive the craziness in their old age. The starving should eat his fish, why he wastes his ” talent ” at FOX and not MSNBC still amazes me.
