Decades before Eric Holder’s Department of Justice oversaw the deadly Operation Fast and Furious, the nation’s highest-ranking law enforcement official participated in what the Columbia University Black Students’ Organization called an “armed” takeover of the campus ROTC office.
As a freshman at Columbia University in 1970, future Attorney General Eric Holder participated in a five-day occupation of an abandoned Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) headquarters with a group of black students later described by the university’s Black Students’ Organization as “armed,” The Daily Caller has learned.

The Daily Caller reports that Holder has given conflicting accounts of the armed protest that resulted in renaming the campus space the “Malcolm X lounge.” In a 2009 speech, he claimed the radical group wanted to “peacefully occupy one of the campus offices.”
