Mitt Romney didn’t mince words in calling out the Obama administration’s strategy of appeasement during remarks on mob violence in Egypt and deadly attacks on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi.

Conservatives on Twitter are calling Romney’s strong remarks “presidential” and “Reaganesque.”

Bingo! Which means it’s time for a little concern trolling by Ronald Reagan’s speechwriter and Obama-con Peggy Noonan. Why, oh why can’t Romney have President Obama’s “first-class temperament”?

Shorter Noonan: Shut up and make Obama a sammich, Mitt!

She might as well have. More from Politico:

“I was thinking as he spoke, I think I belong to the old school of thinking that in times of great drama and heightened crisis, and in times when something violent has happened to your people, I always think discretion is the better way to go,” Noonan said. “When you step forward in the midst of a political environment and start giving statements on something dramatic and violent that has happened, you’re always leaving yourself open to accusations that you are trying to exploit things politically.”

Noonan, of course, joined other media lapdoggies in their howling and baying. According to Obama sycophants, Noonan’s press conference trolling is obviously proof that Romney’s statement was aaaaall wroooooong!11!

Never mind that even the Obama administration walked back the Cairo embassy apology. The administration can do it; Romney just isn’t allowed to talk about it.

Note to Romney:

  • Robert

To the contrary Peggy, I am absolutely in agreement with what he said. No making excuses, no appeasement no moral equivalence. Just a condemnation of the savage murder of American citizens.

  • Mike Sanfilippo

Peggy Noonan knows not of what she speaks

  • Leroy Whitby

Well at least Noonan can unite the Republican party, establishment and Tea Party, against her.

  • Love of Country

Peggy Noonan is the most self important, over-opinionated sappy drama queen the GOP has ever seen …. no one even comes close to her on our side of the aisle. To be fair …. she generally does have some working knowledge about current and political events (usually) …. don’t get me wrong …
I just can’t stand her, lol.

  • weRbroke

Peggy Noonan is so entrenched RINO she won’t travel to Africa, the poachers might get her for her horn.

  • $28215153

Peggy Noonan. Isn’t it time for her to retire? Reagan has been dead for a few years now.

  • $30423294

So, Peggy, we have a perfectly good Office of the President of the United States. Our current white house occupant, for whatever reason, has elected not to use this office today.

Would you mind, Peggy, if Mr. Romney borrowed it for the day?

    Shame on you, Peggy.

  • $30423294

For heaven’s sake, you’d think Obama could manage *something* in response, like a stupid “beer summit” or something?

    What a miserable failure.

    • Jay Stevens

… or something. Muslims are not supposed to drink alcohol.

  • Dobby

The Libyans better apologize and find and punish those killers quickly.
Or else Obama might get real mad and start tweeting in all caps.

    • Lyle E Long

      Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah. you’re killing me

  • Armando

Reagan would be a democrat if he were alive today.

    • Love of Country

And that might be funny if not so stupid and desperate.
      (eyes rolling)

    • Guest

Yes because it’d be likely to hear a Democrat say this:If you don’t, this program I promise you will pass just as surely as the sun will come up tomorrow, and behind it will come other Federal Programs that will invade every area of freedom as we have known it in this country, until, one day as Norman Thomas said, we will awake to find we have Socialism. If you don’t do this, and if I don’t do it, one of these day, you and I are going to spend our sunset years telling our children, and our children’s children what it was like in America when men were free.”

    • Richard Jefferies

Yes because I can see a Democrat saying this:

If you don’t, this program I promise you will pass just as surely as the sun will come up tomorrow, and behind it will come other Federal Programs that will invade every area of freedom as we have known it in this country, until, one day as Norman Thomas said, we will awake to find we have Socialism. If you don’t do this, and if I don’t do it, one of these day, you and I are going to spend our sunset years telling our children, and our children’s children what it was like in America when men were free.”

      • Armando

He would say this about this program:

The Virginia legislature has passed a bill that will force women seeking an abortion to undergo a medically unnecessary transvaginal ultrasound. The mandated procedure requires that a probe be inserted into the woman’s vagina and manipulated around so as to produce a high-resolution picture of the uterus and surrounding organs — once again, for no medically sound reason.

        • ZoriahShepard

And we’re back to abortion. Way to stay on topic.

        • 2ndcomingofISA

small price to pay for the privilege of having a vacuum cleaner shoved up your vagina to suck out a developing human being

What ‘medically sound reason’ is there for that?

        • operanerd1986

Ronald Reagan was pro-life and even wrote a book about it, Abortion and the Conscience of the Nation, while he was President. I highly doubt he would have said that.

        • weRbroke

Why do you want to deny women the right to be INFORMED of their current health needs, so they can give their consent for further healthcare needs? the test is ethical and widely used by nearly every facility that treats women who have tested positive for pregnancy, INCLUDING Planned Parenthood, they admit that they do it and bill for it.
It would unethical for ANYONE to perform an abortion on a woman that isn’t pregnant…or has a ectopic, or a placenta placement that could risk her life. Without the ultrasound, that quack would be stabbing in the dark, uninformed of any potential risks to the woman.
In fact, most insurance companies, including malpractice legal dept highly recommend the medical diagnostic procedure for the accurate dating and placenta placement confirmation. It could in fact, be seen as malpractice if a physician DOES NOT do the diagnostic testing that could detect abnormal or high risk pregnancies.
Why do Democrats want to deny a medical diagnostic test given to pregnant women, especially one that could SAVE their lives? who the hell are you to tell women that they don’t need a diagnostic test?
Why don’t you take your transvag PROBE and shove it up your uninformed D-onkey. The procedure is less invasive than the sex that put that baby there, and most certainly less invasive than the D&C that it takes to remove it.

          • Armando

If they want to do it, they can, but it should not be forced by law.

          • weRbroke

In all actuality, it is pretty much accepted as standard procedure for the care of pregnant women in the US…and it comes with LEGAL and ETHICAL reasons it is done.
“FORCED BY LAW”? It might as well be a law…because the malpractice suit is going to nail a Dr’s ass to the wall if he didn’t do it and the woman didn’t “know” that her pregnancy was high risk…or she died from complications of a botched abortion. I, quite frankly, would rather ALL WOMEN are protected from being mis-informed, undiagnosed, and unethically fed lies.
You would rather argue over something that WAS a non-issue, until someone called a medical diagnostic procedure “rape”. Pretty sad when people are running around calling a diagnostic test DONE by a MEDICAL professional…”rape”.
You disgust me. Liars disgust me. FEARMONGERS disgust me…especially people who are trying to reduce women’s access to medical treatment because it might change their mind.
            GET informed.

BWHAA!!!!!! not only is Noonan backing away, but most, if not all rightie pols are backing away, even ya’ll boy Ryan didn’t say the stupid crap Mittens said, none of them except Mittens called out the president on a time of a national crisis, but etch a sketch is getting his butt kicked in the polls so he’s desperate for an opening… he’s on that limb all alone….. well, looks like Malkin and company want to join him…

    • Love of Country

Dinglebarry’s the one who supports the Muslim Brotherhood, mkay?
As far as the polls go, Romney is down by less than the margin of error however he is up by 15 in the enthusiasm gap …. good luck …. you welfare loving, America hating, state run media patsies are gonna need it, lol.

    • Anna

Keep on singing that tune, hon. You have no idea how this is going to reflect on Obama in the elections. You’re in for a rude awakening come November.

      • rinodino

Lol, Obama is going to do what he did with Bin Laden, Kill those that did this, not like Bush and apparently Romney talk tough in front of the mic and then don’t do crap, the bad guys still dancing around in the caves.. is that the leader you guys want? Don’t answer that; cause you guys are one in the same, talk tough and then disappear, freakin righties

        • Hank DeCat

Yesterday showed how stupid thinking “OBL is dead” is all you need as your “foreign policy plank.”

Of course, you idiot Obama supporters fall for it.

        • Anna

Um yeah, Romney’s not the president yet so he can’t exactly “do” anything regarding our military. It’s sad that people actually need to be reminded that, but I can understand why. Right now, this is on Obama’s plate and he is not doing his job as a president. A few apologetic words just doesn’t cut it for a president after a deliberate attack on his people, I’m sorry.

        • Grandma HeadInjury

Is it just me, or has Little davey’s tone gotten a little more shrill over the last couple of weeks. Having one’s panties in a bunch will cause that….

          • weRbroke

panties…how about his grapes in a vice, he is going to have to find a real job.

          • Grandma HeadInjury

            Hmmmmm…grapes….So you are guessing davey’s a dude?

        • weRbroke

Hmmm so it’s Obama’s fault that they killed innocent people? He has been bragging about killing Osama…

    • Hank DeCat

Keep on standing with the Muslim Brotherhood, *sshat. I’ll stand with Romney & America. If there are a majority of idiots like you in November who vote for Obama, then this country isn’t worth saving.

    • J. Cox

Your inner idiot is showing…go hug a islamofacist for us,pat them on the head and promise to reign in free speech so they do not have to have their feelings hurt anymore.

    • weRbroke

      Noonan voted for Oblamo…nuff said.

  • Dio Heerai

Double down Mitt ,triple down and even quadruple down. Let the American people know you stand with THEM.
Obama and the media will then be left standing with the murderers..great optics

  • lyndaaquarius

but didn’t Candidate Reagan speak out often about Carter’s ineptitude? I missed Noonan’s criticism of that. Never forget Noonan praised Candidate Obama, then proceeded to vote for him. She was totally hoodwinked and bamboozled. Millions of us will never regain respect for her. Imagine this foolish woman called Governor Palin a “nincompoop”. Sarah Palin is clearly Noonan’s intellectual superior. Palin was on to him from the gitgo, but Noonan got played big time. Her sentences can often be pretty, but her thinking is very shallow. For in-depth analysis read Daniel greenfield, aka sultanknish, victor davis hanson ,mark steyn.

    • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

That was back in the day when there was journalistic integrity, i.e before social media.

  • Mike Kerns

    God, I can’t stand that woman…

  • Carl Brown

Noonan’s comments are proof that Reagan didn’t rely on a TelePrompter.

  • Streetiebird

It’s never too early for Romney to apologize for lying about Obama day in and day out.

Obama did not apologize over the attacks, nor will he. Obama’s speech was very presidential and was an appropriate response to the attacks. He condemned them wholeheartedly, there was no apology from Obama.

  • redheadgrl

Frankly, I’m glad Romney made a statement since Mr. Obama thought it was #emptychairday

  • Marge

Peggy Noonan promoted OBAMA in the last election. She lost ALL my respect then. She has NO STANDING as a conservative

  • TocksNedlog

We don’t know what he stands for
We don’t know what he stands for
We don’t know what he stands for
Hey you! Who the hell told you it was okay to stand for something!!! What do you think you are — principled?!

  • Laurel

Kurt Schlicter nailed that dead on acccurate. Peggy is always noonaning…and it is never good. she should stick to her breathy columns and baffling people with ten dollar words.

    • zen

I pronounce her, and David Brooks, man and wife.

  • Harry Wuest

With “”supporters” like Peggy Noonan, why does should Romney worry about the likes of antagonists Plouffe and Axelrod?

  • paevo

I thought Mitt looked and sounded quite good today, very principled and decisive, it was a gutsy decision but it could wind up being a game changer.

  • stillinthe60s

Establishment=PNoonan. No surprise here. Just condescension. Move on along!

  • Grumpa Grumpus

    Just remember:
Schooling is separate from learning. You get get an awful lot if schools — puch the clock for years, so as to get all the alpha bits on parchment — and not learn a thing.

    Peggy is a female example.
    Prez!Stinky is a male example.

Intelligence, an excellent memory and manipulative cunning are not the same.

You can have idetic memory, or manipulative cunning but be dumb as a sack of sledge hammers.

B-O is the example here. Manipulators hate papertrails!

Peggy seems just a sack of hammers. She’s insignificant & I’m tired, so decline to spend the effort to classify her.

  • Grumpa Grumpus

All I can think of is how people who were really close to Ms Clinton said she’d have killed for a 9-11 while her hubby was prez.

And here something that rouses ire almost as much and The Wimp, Mr. Limpet is incharge!

She must be angry enough to chew nails & spit rust!

  • Postbackxp

I saw this live on Fox what a RINO. She might as well wear a I love Obummer

  • DoubledayCafe

Peggy, the point is not Mitt Romney doing himself any favors. The point is defending our American rights, which is something our current president will not do. He is busy groveling to Islam.

  • Adela Wagner

“and in times when something violent has happened to your people, I always think discretion is the better way to go” Yes, cross your legs, cover your mouth, look downward, NEVER take up for your people, and be discreet. Sounds like a plan Peggy…but WHOSE Plan?

    • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

Don’t forget to tell her to bow. Wash their feet while she’s at it.

  • EastValleyConservative

Considering he is the only one to call out some common sense, my thoughts are, no one cares what Peggy thinks right now. Except leftists who think they can mark it as a point on their score card. In the meantime, the glaring obvious issue is that our government APOLOGIZES to radical Islam on a regular basis and yesterday was beyond shameful. Yesterday was not about Islam….Christianity, or any religion. It was about something else altogether…

  • Mickey Byrd

Peggy would have interviewed Obama for a comment about the embassy attacks but she didn’t have $40,000 for the fund raising dinner in Vegas.

  • jackay

I think old Peggy is taking too many sips from the bottle lately. Mitt Romney, stay strong and keep it up. I love your strength and commitment to this country! When I listened to Gov Romney’s statement yesterday morning, I was watching an American President! January cannot get here soon enough!

  • Mickey Byrd

Romney was criticized for making a strong statement in support of America.

Obama finally woke and has been campaigning and politicizing non-stop for three days.

OK time for the quiz… How many media have criticized Romney for his 3 minute statement compared to how many criticized Obama for 3 DAYS of politicking?
