          Why did a new generation white Southerners join the GOP? Not because they thought Republicans were racists who would return the South to segregation, but because the GOP was a “local government, small government” party in the old Jeffersonian tradition. Southerners wanted less government and the GOP was their natural home.

          Personally I don’t like when people say “the blacks.” Just don’t like how it sounds. To answer your question, there is a certain population that will NEVER withdraw support. They are very invested in him as THEY see him as the fulfillment of the Civil Rights Movement. Some of them are my elders and lived through the harsh treatment so I will always give them due respect. I am younger so maybe that is why I am independent, could also be that I am cynical by nature and I am wary of government power.

          If I could offer one piece of advice to “white” conservative America. Please stop diminishing our ugly history. If Jewish people can demand that the world “never forgets” then I think it’s unfair to tell Black America to “get over it.”

          There is an ugliness in some black and white Americans, some truly disturbed souls desire some type of race war. I have children, I just want to raise them in peace. That is one thing that truly bothers me about the president, lying about being bi-partisan and post racial. He said he wanted to bring us together but we are further apart. Sincere ideological divisions are dismissed as ignorance and racism.
