Things are so bad for the Buffalo Bills, who dropped to 0-2 on the season after at 31-20 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, that defensive back Vontae Davis reportedly just up and retired at HALFTIME:
Vontae Davis, a Defensive Back for the @BuffaloBills, apparent packed his stuff and retired AT HALFTIME today.
Congratulations. That is a first.

LOL. This news apparently came as a shock to Davis’ now-former teammates:
Lorenzo Alexander says he was told at start of second half that Vontae Davis quit and retired.

So he just like called an Uber and left?
Word is Vontae Davis put on his street clothes at half, said he was quitting and left the stadium, per another source https://t.co/spdxMWrNSd

After the game, linebacker Lorenzo Alexander called it “completely disrespectful to his teammates”:
Buffalo CB Vontae Davis apparently retired at halftime during the Chargers-Bills game Sunday.
"He said he's not coming out. He retired…"

Has this ever even happened before?
I’ve been covering the NFL since 2009. I have not once seen a situation where a player pulls himself out, retires, and quite possibly leaves at halftime way before the game is done. Bizarre situation with Vontae Davis. #Bills

Bills head coach SEan McDermott isn’t talking:
I asked #Bills HC Sean McDermott if CB Vontae Davis left the stadium at halftime, after pulling himself out in the first half, he said, “I don’t want to get into all that.”

Imagine if this catches on and happens around the league?
From strictly an entertainment standpoint I hope Vontae Davis' move today catches on.
