'Now they're deporting her': Protests hit Phoenix over possible deportation of Guadalupe Garcia de Rayos

Overnight in Phoenix, Ariz., protesters attempted to stop the deportation of Guadalupe Garcia de Rayos, a 35-year-old illegal immigrant from Mesa, Ariz. who was ordered to self-deport in 2013 after getting caught using a fake Social Security number in 2009. According to reports, 7 people were arrested:

Garcia de Rayos was taken into custody during one of her yearly meetings with immigration agents:

But of course it’s Donald Trump’s fault that a woman arrested and ordered to self-deport during the Obama administration is being deported now? From ABC News:

Garcia de Rayos’ attorney, Ray Ybarra Maldonado, told ABC15 that she is now facing deportation as part of President Donald Trump’s executive order that undocumented immigrants with a history of arrests are to deported.

Under President Trump’s “orders”:

ICE released this statement to ABC 15:

“Ms. Garcia De Rayos is currently being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) based on a removal order issued by the Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review which became final in May 2013. Relevant databases indicate Ms. Garcia De Rayos has a prior felony conviction dating from March 2009 for criminal impersonation.”

The protesters, however, were not successful:
