In a conversation with WSJ reporter Jay Solomon last night, the State Department’s Marie Harf blamed the Treasury Department’s “math” for any discrepancy in the amount of money available to Iran now that they’ve been granted sanctions relief:

How exactly is a $50 billion discrepancy a “math” error?
Administration either dishonest or incompetent. Which is it? @marieharf https://t.co/aV8WDuLoH5

Or both.
David Rothkopf, CEO and Editor of Foreign Policy magazine, jumped in as well to further question Harf’s spin:
@marieharf @WSJSolomon @USTreasury Is that really an important clarification? Isn't Treasury part of the administration? Weird distinction.

@marieharf @WSJSolomon @USTreasury Marie, Treasury does fall under the WH, right? Not a very important clarification. The buck stops where?

But the key question for Harf: Why do we need to wait for Iran to tell us the truth?

Sad, but true:
@WSJSolomon @GayPatriot @WhiteHouse @BrianFMurphy In this case, it's likely that Iran is more credible.
