Yes, we saw it. And granted, we don’t often agree with Bill Maher, but he was spot-on last night when he talked about the difference between “liberal Western culture” and that of Islamic theocracies, calling them not only “different,” but saying that liberal Western culture is “better.”
Maher went on to single out President Obama individually for refusing to describe the ISIS terrorists as Islamic. Zinggggg!
President Obama keeps insisting that ISIS is not Islamic. Well, maybe they don’t practice the Muslim faith the same way he does.
But if vast numbers of Muslims across the world believe, and they do, that humans deserve to die for merely holding a different idea or drawing a cartoon or writing a book or eloping with the wrong person, not only does the Muslim world have something in common with ISIS, it has too much in common with ISIS.
And Tweeters took notice. Nailed it, indeed:
Bill Maher absolutely nails the inconsistency, and hypocrisy, of the (ahem) multicultural (far) left. http://t.co/GeETIgeHYr via @CHSommers

Bill Maher offers one of best refutations of knee-jerk multiculturalism and PC mindlessness I have ever seen. http://t.co/JDSvNS9gvP

What would this audience’s response be if a right-leaning person said all this? http://t.co/FaGQM3nzrz

And, as expected, not everybody was happy with him:
Time to organize change the channel campaign when it comes to Bill Maher. He's liberalism on certain issues doesn't excuse bigotry on others

@ZaidJilani @billmaher Totally agree … that tirade last night was ridiculous

@ZaidJilani IMO so far @ggreenwald has done the best job of confronting @billmaher on this issue

Oh, well. You can’t please everyone, but he did please us.
