The taxes for all working Americans were due to be filed yesterday, but Bette Midler doesn’t think Americans appreciate the occasion enough:
Everyone hates Tax Day. Maybe the name's the problem. They should re-brand it as "Don't You Like Decent Roads, Schools, and Parks Day?"

Because everybody knows that all taxpayer funds are spent responsibly, right? Ms. Midler is always free to cut an extra check to the IRS if she thinks the real problem is too little revenue as opposed to too much wasteful spending.
Also, Midler should feel free to alert MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry to be more appreciative of the obligation, or select Federal workers for that matter:
