State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki, attempting to spin a report quoting John Kerry saying Israel risks becoming an “apartheid state,” cited the lefty blog Daily Kos as a reference source:

The Daily Kos? “Wacky Friday” has come early this week:

Psaki also cited the noted nonpartisan centrists at ThinkProgress as a reference source:

Nothing is surprising anymore.

Here’s a great suggestion:

So true.

As his administration crumbles around him… they STILL kiss the mud he walks in, still adore the douchebag..

I am absolutely certain Obama’s cult followers are mentally disturbed.

imagine any other president’s state dept. spokesman using an inaccurate rabidly partisan blog, either party,.. and not being laughed at. These cultists don’t even see how imbecillic and ridiculous they look… I mean kids……. come on..

Ding ding ding! And that’s all that matters, folks: die-hard liberals get all of their “news” from sensational op-ed rags like Kos and ThinkProgress. Ms. Psaki simply knows her audience.

You are giving her to much credit, she’s part of the low information audience as well

Next time a politician references Breitbart or Red State, nothing shall be said.

        FreeRepublic is the Right’s DailyKos.

That’s a fair comparison. Personally I wouldn’t rely on something that I only heard about on FreeRepublic.

          • dark angel

Unfortunately, these days it does seem that FR is “the right’s Daily Kos.”

        • Malcolm Reynolds

That’s true, however the one and only time I know that free republic was ever referenced, it correctly destroyed a “journalist’s” job and a hard left idiot politician’s aspirations.

WD40 is playing games here– Cruz isn’t citing them as a SOURCE, he’s citing a story in which his official “strongly-worded letter” to BLM on behalf of Greg Abbott, his home state’s AG and a constituent, is reproduced, along with Abbott’s letter on the same subject. One assumes it didn’t require Cruz’s having reading about the story in Breitbart Texas to acquaint himself with the issue– one presumes he has been in contact with Abbott all along and that he knew of the dispute already.

        • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

Answer me this, has Breitbart ever made an absurd claim as stupid as “Air is racist!!!!!”?

          • Rulz

Are you kidding? Breitbart has no authorization from the straight, rich white elite left to use the race card!

      • Finrod Felagund

I saw Nikki Haley at the first RedState gathering before she became Governor of South Carolina. She was great.

I’ve seen a few Republican politicians post on RedState, but Newt Gingrich was the only one that engaged people in the comment section.

        • Suzyqpie

Kevin Williamson, NRO occasionally shows up in the comments section. David P Goldman, PJ Media shows up in the comments for many of his articles. It’s great to read the author defending their work in comments section.

    • Republicanvet

So you think Breitbart is comparable to the DailyKooks? Or ThinkProgress where they write about racist air and child allowance gaps?

      • Apostic

I think the Breitbart site is realtively closer to the average American mindset. We’re not talking Ace of Spades HQ or JWF here — which I read every day but not for the sake of balance.

        • Republicanvet

I agree, but they are in no way comparable to DK or TP.

The leftists would have a field day destroying them if their credibility and accuracy was anywhere near those two.

        • Alan

I don’t think Breitbart makes things up, so much as selects from existing news items for their intended audience. Kos – can’t say the same.

      • Ryan Schneider.

That racist air thing is right up there with the old Victorian Obstetric superstition about magical malevolent miasma floating about maternity wards deciding which women and babies would die of purpeperal fever, which was, in fact, blood poisoning caused by dirty hands being put into poor mothers. Dr. Schimmilwiss should be Sainted, his dementia at the end notwithstanding.

    • gekkobear

Next time? When was the last time time a politician much less an administration official used a right-wing opinion-blog as a primary source?

I must have missed all those times when this happened to totally justify both sides doing it and everything.

Can you link the Bush Administration using right-wing opinion blogs as primary sources?

Amazingly I must have missed all of those.

      • Malcolm Reynolds

There was only once that I know of. FreeRepublic. And It destroyed Dan Rather’s career

        • KornKing

Shhhhh! Dan doesn’t know that yet, he thinks he’s still relevant.

    • Jake Bradford

A mentally ill, homeless addict ranting on a street corner is more credible than Think Progress.
Every political opinion site has to be rated on a scale of credibility and fact-to- opinion ratio. But Breitbart is pretty good. Of course Breitbart isn’t going after the “big stories” like Think progress did on how kids’ allowance allotments are proof of gender inequity.

    • journogal

      Interesting statement from a “Libertarian.”

      • Malcolm Reynolds

Lol. I was waiting to see if someone else reminded the resident cretin that he’s supposedly a libertarian and he’s defending the source of everything antithetical to his beliefs. And the source of all evil, of course.

    • Malcolm Reynolds

I’m fairly certain Breitbart is an actual news site, while the afore mentioned leftist sites are cretinous activist sites.

Kudos for not foaming at the mouth about Fox News and losing 100% credibility for your statement right up front tho.

    • DamnCat

But she isn’t a politician. She’s a representative of the US government – and one who speaks particularly to foreigners. Her messages should be more serious and considered than those of a politician merely trying to score rhetorical points for domestic consumption.

        • Mark81150 Never/Trump/Hillary

This administration took every federal department and agency there, many if not most of their employess are big government liberals anyway, but this president has weaponized them to harass oppress and subvert the principle of equal protection under the law..

different rules that allow democrats to slide, while doing everything they can to disenfranchise 50 million voters, and these fascist douches call a picture ID a racist poll tax…. they have enabled democrat party voting fraud, while working hard to kneecap the right’s ability to get out the vote..

This president’s an unAmerican authoritarian snake, reason one why the hard left drinks his bath water. Even when he retires, he’s put in place the machinery to rig future elections.

    • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

So you’re upset that people don’t accept Think Progress as legitimate? Sorry, but after they claimed air is racist they lost all credibility. And Media Matters has no credibility either since all they do is water carry for your Messiah.

I guess you hate BreitBart since they aren’t accusing anyone of criticizing Messiah as being a racist.

how she not only beclowned State, but offended every moderate and conservative voter.. because leftists, only an idiot thinks kos is centrist.. the biggest lie the left wing media sells is the GOP has shifted far right.

The question is, who at State thinks Thinkprogress or the DailyKos is any sort of intellectually-honest purveyor of robust forthright debate on the subject? I stated in another thread about this same state department spokes person. The willing and loyal get promoted to position’s higher than their competency NOT the experienced and competent. It’s just how government works skrew up- move up.

    • snoocks2

Dr. Peter described this very thing: It’s called the Peter Principle wherein a competent person in one job is not necessarily able to handle the job above that one. Like promoting your best mechanic to foreman, and he’s a miserable failure as a foreman but is and was top grade in the mechanics field. Don’t know what grade level Psaki is in, but I doubt it’s much past the 9th or 10th.

      • keyboard jockey

It’s a common occurrence in the government. “skrew up move up” There is the idea that if you keep promoting the person that keeps’ f’ing up, they end up at desk – a supervisory position with little more than a title where they collect a check, warm a seat, and can do little harm. Through promotion, they are taken out of the serious decision making loop. (SEE departmental figure head) It’s very difficult to fire a government bureaucrat just ask Hillary Clinton. It looks like Jen Psaki is in for a promotion 😉

  • JLawson

And this one instance explains just why our foreign affairs initiatives are in the toilet.

A decade back, these folks were the ‘reality-based’ community, who seemed to believe that whatever they decided to be reality WAS reality, no matter what evidence existed otherwise.
