The Democrats, especially Harry Reid, have a fixation with the Koch brothers.

Naturally, that fixation has more to do with money than truth:

Really? Nobody in particular was very surprised:

And it’s only March. By October the Dems’ fundraising emails will probably consist only of the words “Koch” and “brothers” repeated a couple hundred times.

  • jkpalmdale

The Dems have the top 58 Donors and they are focused on #59. Pathetic

    • Right Wired ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Wow, that’s just about one per State!

    • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

It’s because they can’t handle someone daring to donate to the opposition. Donating millions to Dems is okay, but donate to republicans and you are the Devil.

      Love your avatar.

So Obama ran against bush twice, is constantly running against oil companies and others involved in some grand conspiracy, and now they want to run against some random rich guy.

Do the democrats actually plan on having a platform to run ON? Oh I forgot, socialism doesn’t sell (pardon the pun)

    • Fhalkyn Phoenix

      IT’S A PLOT, I TELL YA!!!

Could we finally get leaders instead of progressive overlords?

  • CO2 Producer

It’s a fact that if you go for the trifecta and include “Faux News” and “T-Bags” or variants thereof, troll donations go up an astounding 2700%.

  • DeadlockVictim

They sure seem to spend a lot of time thinking about Kochs.

    • Ms. Abigail van Beagle

      Very Freudian, isn’t it?

So the Koch Brothers, who actually contribute to the economy, get the Oppressives all worked up. For the Conservatives, it’s Nancy Pelosi, she of the fact-bereft, read-it-to-see-what’s-in-it, collectivist bent who’s never done a damned thing for anyone but herself and her own.

To be honest, this says a great deal, none of it good about the Regressives.

    • mrspinky85

      I love the term Oppressives.

  • QueenB

Part of me thinks it would be hilarious if the Koch Bros. laid off all their workers for a month or two and have them put in for unemployment and watch the unemployment numbers skyrocket. When people ask what the hell is going on, just say, well, liberals wanted the Koch Bros. to go away. They did.

    • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

If the Koch Bros. liberate people from job lock, maybe the libs will love them!

    • mrspinky85

My husband and I discussed how the more rich people are pushed some may leave like in France.

  • Finrod Felagund

It’s like the old lawyer saying:

When the law is on your side, pound the law.
When the facts are on your side, pound the facts.
When neither the law nor the facts are on your side, pound the table.

  • mrspinky85

    I just smell desperation.

Hmmm…my bad! I thought “free” was the Dem Pavlovian buzz word

Lefty always has to have a bogeyman to fire up the low information voters.

    • SpiffyMclure

Yeah, like George Soros or that Alinksy fellah. Oh, you said Lefty.

  • DG

The Koch brothers are quite interesting to me. They keep taking a licking, yet keep on ticking.

Naturally, they are quite aware of the liberal assault against them, yet they rarely speak out publicly. They simply keep doing their thing. Quietly and expertly.

    Kudos to them.

    • Perry

Dirty Harry Reid was slandering them on the floor of the Senate. The man has NO shame.

    • Arkuy The Great

One of the secrets to success in a cutthroat business like theirs is not to get rattled by the sleazy tricks of opponents. They have encountered the likes of Dirty Harry before. I’ll bet they view him more with contemptuous amusement than with caution.

  • LinTaylor ✓vitrified

Here’s an idea: Let’s send out a fundraising email claiming that the Koches support Obamacare. If we do that we can get it repealed within a week.

    • H50 ✓RAT

The chorus of exploding heads alone would be invigorating.

    • Tyrconnell

Hey, just point out that the Koch brothers have donated to legalizing weed and for gay marriage.
Nah wouldn’t work, these are dhimmicrats we’re talking about.

    • Humanary Stew

Just point out that David Koch supports the Met in NY. And hospitals…

  • Matthew Koch

It’s times like these that make me happy that my last name is Koch.

  • Super Marsupial

Hypocrite Harry has Koch (read coq) on the brain

  • Conserv_58

YET… it only takes two words, “Nancy Pelosi” for republicans and especially conservatives to vote in the tens of millions.

  • ReubenHood

I guess Democrats have one thing going for them at least, they’re easily trained.

  • Arkuy The Great

    Talk about dog whistles…

  • Oscar Mysterious

Since equality before the law results in the claim that people have a share in making the law, democratic methods tend to accompany liberty.

  • Shelgeyr

OK but you’ve got to admit that anybody who parties as hard as the Koch brothers are going to take flack from time to time. Perfect example: We were at this three-day after-wedding blowout the Kochs were throwing in Rio, and by the end of day 2 everyone had pretty much forgotten who the bride was. It’s all to be expected but I think it irritated the monsterinlaw who was a big big greeno-lib who would do her best to capitaliz- uh, take advantage of a little misadventure that happened. Now I must admit that everyone has different reactions to things – for example, I myself am wildly allergic to most forms of artificial vanilla flavoring – it hits me like freebasing crack – and WHO could have guessed the billionaire brothers would scrimp on a little thing like that? I mean, seriously! “Vanilla”, guys, you can afford the good stuff! Anyways David had to eventually shoot me out of a tree with a tranquilizer gun, and then Charles – bless him – dragged my sodden tux-enshrouded body out of the pool. As soon as I regained my faculties I promised not to sue – I’m man enough to admit they actually did me a favor! Still, I do miss being on their mailing list, but alas it is pretty understandable why I’m not.*

    * This story is at least as true as the one about the Koch brothers owning the plurality of fracking leases in Canada. But don’t quote me on this, or you’ll get mocked relentlessly.

  • Chip

Interesting. Last week, I was reading an article that said mentioning the name “Pelosi” gets out the GOP voters.

    • © Sponge

The difference, one is a public official who’s job is supposed to be of the people, by the people and FOR the people and the others are private citizens that made their fortune via hard work, free enterprise and the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
