Investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson, who has relentlessly pursued stories such as Benghazi, Fast & Furious and the IRS scandal, announced earlier this week that she had resigned from CBS News. Politico reported that Attkisson “had grown frustrated with what she saw as the network’s liberal bias” as well as a lack of dedication to investigative reporting.

Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist Michael Ramirez pictured Attkisson’s exit from CBS only as he can:

Excellent! And good enough for a retweet from Attkisson:

Just perfect!

She deserves to keep it.

Editor’s note: We have replaced a screen shot of Attkisson’s retweet with an embedded retweet.

      ” A picture is worth a thousand words ” !!! Bam !!!! Beautiful Sharyl !!!

  • Janice LEE

Those of us who well remember Dan Rather’s fake but accurate have long since known that CBS stood for See BS. Laughable to think that this bias is a new development.

I highly recommend you read Bias by Bernard Goldberg. This is not the first time CBS has had trouble with their “slip” showing.

An enterprising network not afraid of the truth would do well to snap her up. Kinda narrows the field tho.

    • Marvin Nelson

Yep, that pretty much narrows the field to Fox or the Blaze. Either one would be lucky to have her. See BS “news” is now officially in the crapper.

        How about Palin’s new network?

  • thedumbblonde

I hope Sharyl asks him for a signed copy of that cartoon, and displays it prominently.

And as she tweeted herself 3 days ago, “Go Gators!”.

  • JeffWRidge

The only credibility CBS had was based on her reporting. They have none now because they couldn’t stand to have someone working for them show any independent thought, or integrity.

I’d say Walter Cronkite is spinning in his grave but that pinko approved of left-wing bias at CBS. Him and Edward R. Murrow.

    • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

One could go so far as to say that those two even entrenched it in such a way that it became self-perpetuating. And lest anyone invoke the old “higher journalistic standards in those days” canard, ask them why Ed Murrow did a kiss-ass celebrity interview show (Person To Person) and Ol’ Cronk did an historical-recreation dramatic show (You Are There)– because that’s what paid the bills at CBS, that’s why.

The “Krankheit” at CBS goes back a LONG way.

I had an uncle in the middle of TET in 68, his unit was an M-48 tank platoon caught up in some of the heaviest combat, he lost friends, saw the rout as the US and ARVN drove the VC out of all the cities they attacked.

His commentary on Cronkites declaring TET a big victory for the VC and the war essentially lost was…. colorful, direct,.. and unprintable..

He put Cronkite right down there with Hanoi Jane as an enemy to the troops fighting in Vietnam. Quite the wake up call for a young boy just starting to see the world outside America… He waited till I was about 12 before educating me, after his third tour, when he received his second Purple Heart.

He told me of incompetence, betrayals by our “news” agencies, celebrities.. of men wasted as our appeasers propped up Uncle Ho..

Of being spit on in a California airport.. wounds not even healed yet..

but he at the same time, urged me to not be cynical, to still believe in my country as an Ideal, a dream not always lived up to,.. he wanted me to still believe in US as a people when it wasn’t so easy. I still do,.. but things like this with CBS just remind me how we get betrayed by those claiming to be on our side so often.

CBS has a lot to answer for..

        • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

It’s been said that the NVA, through Victor Charlie, was willing to sustain the loss as long as it essentially inflicted a Pyrrhic victory mentality upon the Americans, however non-factual that may have been in terms of losses sustained by the US forces. Cronk was sold on that idea right away even as it was still happening, and apparently so were many others– but Walter was the Voice of God back then; “That’s the way it [was]”. So whatever he had to say went. If he said the Americans sustained losses too great in driving off the Tet offensive, people believed him. Saying the Americans won battles in Vietnam is like saying Napoleon won battles in Russia– true, but he never was able to conquer it, for all the losses he inflicted upon the Russians.

        • BeautifulAmerica

          Great post.

        • DutyFirst

Giap, the author of Dien Ben Phu against the French, Khe San and numerous other major engagements recalled after 1975 that after Tet the North was not just, on the ropes, they were on their knees and the only thing that saved them was Cronkite ringing the bell in their corner ending the round with 1min 30 left in the round … spit!!!!!

    • Hirogen

That bastard Walter Cronkite. Remember when that pinko Commie blasted the Vietnam War, causing LBJ to not run for another term? Setting up a path to victory for the ultimate pinko Commie Richard Nixon?

        • kgregt

Right…I am “shocked” that this would happen on the network of Dan Rather and Walter Cronkite!

  • Mark_Melrose

And to think CBS big wigs let Dan Rather go hang himself by advancing the handwriting analysis of a computer font before it existed.

  • Mark_Melrose

Besides the liberal left, there is one guy that thinks Bush fired Dan Rather: Vladimir Putin. That’s his view from his back porch in Moscow.

  • Mark_Melrose

First clue CBS was sandbagging her: when she’d break a story, then CBS would put it on some obscure web page, not the CBS Evening News.

  • bo1921

I absolutely the believe that the “media,” as constituted for about the last 50 years, will go down in this nation’s history as the biggest traitors and greatest threat to the American People. “Speak truth to power!” Is that beyond pathetic, or what?

  • nc ✓s & balances

Someday, if CBS survives (a big if), the brass there will look back at this era and say, “What the heck were those fools thinking?”

  • Dr. Tar

Wow, I actually look forward to the tell all book (for once).

  • CountMahdrof

I get advocacy journalism. There is nothing new about it as it’s been practiced in the US for over two hundred years. It’s natural and human to have an opinion and it will invariably come through. Some folks have never even tried to hide their partisanship. The difference today is when the facts prove that the position they’re advocating for is wrong, they once were professional enough to change position. Now the advocacy is so fanatic that facts are even fabricated. This is a tragedy.

CBS ‘News’ President is David Rhodes. His brother, Ben Rhodes, is Obama’s deputy national security adviser for strategic communication and was involved in writing the Benghazi talking points. Attkisson’s departure is unrelated to this. And Obama is honest.
