Observers of politics know that Texas Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee can be consistently counted on to say ridiculous things, and today was no exception.

Wait. What?

Let’s go to the transcript and video showing Jackson Lee insinuating that the U.S has been operating under the Constitution for 400 years:

The video tells the same sad tale:

So ridiculous, and yet so unsurprising.

Maybe this is why SJL thinks the Constitution is older than it really is:

Bam!

This makes no sense whatsoever! Continually perpetrating this division is what keeps racism alive. It is not because she is black that she said this but because she is ignorant. She didn’t fact check herself before she spoke. There are many Americans who are tired of these life long politicians who don’t do their job. Black or white, ignorant politicians who don’t do the will of the people got to be voted out.

I live in the Houston area. It isn’t just that she doesn’t know facts. She also can’t speak English correctly and says other things that are very ” unintelligent” that shouldn’t take fact checking. She is just not very bright. She does, however, know how to promise stuff, manipulate, use the race card.

I am more mad that our people were doing better before the Civil Rights movement and the War on Poverty. It angers me that all other oppressed groups were able to get over their past and do better. I am mad that the left hasn’t done anything but lip service. We have more now to succeed and we still have the same old issues and complaints. We still have the highest unemployment rate, higher prison rate, are losing our charter schools, and a destroyed family make up. I could go on. There are many blacks who are mad but don’t have a back bone to admit that the first biracial POTUS is a disaster. I don’t understand. But, if they read this some how I’d be the bad girl.

The Native Americans are the perfect
example of the failure of social welfare programs. The way the US
government treated the tribes, took away their livelihood making them
dependent, payed them just enough to keep them alive, destroyed their
culture with government school indoctrination. I am not surprised
that poverty is a serious problem on the reservation/plantation.
People giving you things is not the way to a prosperous life.
Equality of opportunity is the answer, the only equality that can be
achieved. Empowerment of the individual is the way to prosperity and
            happiness.

          • mrspinky85
          • Deborah Hallsted

You know, there exists a great divide between tribal members who believe in more education and a career, (thus choosing a white man’s world) and those who live on the Res on benefits/payouts, drugs and violence. It’s a “spiritual/cultural” divide too. Some family’s won’t even talk to each other over it.
And you won’t find a prominent tribal member publicly spouting the same kind of ignorance and smug superiority as Sheila J. Lee.
I have a lot of native American friends, and it’s not the same situation at all with black culture, it’s a lot more complex.

Blacks comprise 13%+ of the population, a figure which I suspect exceeds the Native American percentage. Your point may have some validity, but it is not enough to warrant calling mrspinky’s comment a “TOTAL FABRICATION.” (By the way, we’re not all deaf here, so go easy on the caps!)

It is absolutely mind numbing to see how ignorant and gullible so many African Americans are. As an African American woman, does it not anger you to see black Americans supporting Planned Parenthood? It is obvious that those protesters have never heard of the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger and her philosophy about the black race. If they only knew how deeply racist she was and how she advocated exterminating the vast majority of the black race, via state sanctioned abortions, while leaving just enough population to serve her elitist kind, they would be calling for the elimination of Planned Parenthood. I wonder how many black American know that Martin Luther King was a republican?

The democrat party has done more harm to the back race in this country than any other organization or group, yet the vast majority of the black community keeps buying their lies, deception and divisive tactics. This problem must be dealt with by well educated and informed black Americans

          • mrspinky85

Well educated blacks sometimes are the ones who perpetuated the lies. (Obama, Melissa Harris-Perry) Some who can see pass the excuses and look at our root problem do try to speak up (Thomas Sowell, Larry Elder). But somehow we are ignored or called derogatory names.
I’m not saying I never believed the bull. But, my mom told me to look at what people do not what they say. Too many in our community flap their gums instead of acting on real change. However, this conversation really doesn’t happen because most blacks won’t look within.

          • mrspinky85

The thing people forget about MLK too was that he was a minister first. The statue of him doesn’t have one sermon or reference to that fact. I didn’t want to go this route, but yes planned parenthood disgusts me. I believe abortion has affected our community too and I hate my tax dollars go to something I find morally wrong. The racism of its founder is only one part that angers me. For me, it is troubling that the people I can’t even talk to are family. I don’t want to be just another mad black woman. I want to not just complain but I want to find a solution. Where do I even start?

          • GaryTheBrave

The fact that few people want to recognize that MLK was a Reverend irritates me as well. They always say, “Dr. Martin Luther King.” They don’t want to acknowledge that his PHd is in Theology. If he was still alive he would likely correct anyone who called him Doctor. He’d probably tell them to refer to him as Reverend.

          • John Bibb

            ***
HI MP85–MLK was the real deal. Every year I listened to his I HAVE A DREAM speech again on my 50 mile drive to work. It’s like listening to something in the Bible–a message delivered by one of God’s Prophets. Unlike the messages delivered by the race hustlers and their ilk now.
            ***
His murder by an evil racist was a horrible crime–inspired by Satan. We lost a great American and strong Christian.
            ***
The starting point is that we all need to see each other as individuals–not as members of some ethnic or racial group. As planned by The Lord–equally worthy of respect and fair treatment. There are lots of Bible messages about this.

I think MLK was done in by Marxist blacks and whites….they did not like his “peace and equality” message as they do not like peace and equality. Jesse Jackson, Andrew Young and John Lewis were with him and you didn’t any of these guys take up where MLK left off after he was murdered. Also, why did James Earl Ray die in prison instead of getting the chair for murder? Why did he deny doing the crime up until his dying day in prison?
I don’t think MLK was a Republican or a Democrat, either.

I used to live in Houston and if there is any place on earth that you could justify calling someone an un-informed voter…her district is the prime example. She’s as corrupt as they come. Does anyone in her district wonder or bother to ask her why their lives haven’t improved for decades? I can assure she doesn’t give a damn about anything but keeping her seat.

    • pinkelephant22

I live north in the suburbs, thankfully. Yes indeed, her district largely represents the poster children of the low infos. And when driving thru the heart of her district, it’s one of those places where you check twice to make sure your doors are locked. Perhaps thrice.

SJL: Dumbest Person Ever. It’s quite entertaining to listen to the local conservative talk-show host in her area take her apart daily. She is so incredibly arrogant, and at the same time, stupid, that she provides a constant stream of material for two or three radio shows.

Or has someone else played SJL speechifying about the “vunnables?” I know Berry has had a good time with the word for at least a couple of years. I believe he asked a spelling bee champ to spell vunnable. But I can imagine the Glen Beck bunch having a similar good time with it.

Wow. Whoa. As comical as this is at first, my laughter was short lived when I realized this is a member of my Congress whose job it is to perform under the allowances and limitations of that document…and she thinks it’s 400 yrs old?

Texas – PLEASE GET THIS WOMAN OUT OF MY CONGRESS!

    • BAW

Oh believe me there are people in her district who have tried. I know people who voted in the Democrat primary just to vote against SJL the year she had a viable Democrat opponent. Jarvis Johnson was a member of the Houston City Council and polled well but SJL got over 65% of the primary vote. In general elections she gets 70% or more.

And do you know the story of the work True the Vote did with the voter registration rolls? What they found pertaining to SJL’s district? That right after a press conference announcing an investigation into all of that, that a fire burned down the warehouse containing all of Harris County’s voting equipment?

Like I said, people have tried but just voting is not going to do it.

      • Bill Norris

I remember that. That was probably a coincidence. (wink wink). There is no telling what she says to her constituents. I wouldn’t doubt it if she told them their “checks” would stop if the racist GOP got into the warehouse. Karma’s gonna catch up eventually and knock the snot out that b!tch

Speaking of swearing to uphold the Constitution, I think some new laws should be enacted that makes a ruling that any politician that breaks their oath to uphold the Constitution should be forced to immediately resign. Sheila Jackson Lee is the poster child for ignorance and represents the majority of her low income, alcohol, drug ,infested ,poverty stricken and uneducated/undereducated minority district with lie after lie, as she leads them down the path of destruction in return for their dedicated votes. SJL is all for head start programs because this is the best and highest standard of education the kids of her Houston district will ever receive while she is in office. The really sad thing is that two of Houston’s great Universities being TSU and U of H are in her district along with several Community Colleges. Don’t expect these communities to ever raise the standard of living or clean up while Sheila Jackson Lee is at the helm misrepresenting and misleading her loyal voters with broken promise after broken promise. The list of failed School Districts, Public, Charter and Private School closings due to below average test scores corruption, and drop out rates. Only scratches the surface of her many failures. If people haven’t noticed yet, sit back and watch her, you will see that all SJL cares about is getting her ugly mug in the tv cameras. Be it good,, bad, or indifferent media coverage she is going to find the camera and say something beyond stupid.
