At the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Sochi, the hammer & sickle made an elaborate appearance:

The hammer & sickle apparently didn’t malfunction like one of the Olympic rings did. Go figure.

Though the hammer & sickle along with symbols of the Russian Revolution made an appearance, certain ensuing horrors were left out:

  • Love of Country

Owebamao must be drooling! (and to think he ‘settled’ for those Greek Columns, lol)

    • Steven Chavez

“When the Wall fell, we cheered, they cried! When the Twins fell, we cried, they cheered.” (S. Chavez)

WHO IS “THEY?” “They” are our Communists who were the most bitter of all the world’s Communists since they loved the Soviet Union, and its system, more than their own country. IN THE 1980’S, the Soviet’s WORLD PEACE COUNCIL, had affiliates in every State including mine in New Mexico. The U.S. Peace Council was led by the CPUSA. The NM Peace Council was led by the same man who headed the NM Marxist Educators for Socialist Action. MANY CPUSA FRONTS took over our University of New Mexico campus and all for the purpose of aiding a KGB AND CPUSA mission: The takeover of Central America and eventually Mexico with their main goal “The overthrow of the United States through force if necessary. Brother against Brother.” (George Meyers, head of the Labor Department-CPUSA. Feb. 17, 1986)

MANY STUDENTS were in these fronts and millions more supported their mission. OF INTEREST IS BARACK OBAMA. Please Google: “Obama Sundial 1983” which is an article Obama wrote while at Columbia which focused on PRO-SOVIET WPC FRONTS! These groups, mentioned in the article, had the most radical students and on every major campus. Obama admitted to seeking out Marxist professors and this article proves he also sought out the MOST RADICAL STUDENTS!

HILLARY CLINTON TOO. She gave funds to El Salvador’s Communist FMLN rebels so when the FMLN won the Presidency in 2009, Hillary was the highest-ranking American official at the inauguration! Leon Panetta, John Kerry, Tom Harkin, and many more American leaders were also in, or supported, KGB/CPUSA goals.

OBAMA’S “CIRCLE OF COMMUNISTS.” Look at who Obama surrounds himself with Communists, oops Socialists, oops Leftists, and you will find most all are 80’S KGB/CPUSA DUPES who were the main defenders of “Socialism.” WHAT ABOUT ALL OF CZARS? Lost count on them!

Obama was born of Communists. He was mentored by a Communist. He found Chicago’s Communists and domestic terrorists that he barely knew, He sought out Marxist Professors and the most radical Communist students. He was preached at by a Communist where he also learned BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY which is a racist as it gets. He then surrounds himself with his “CIRCLE OF COMMUNISTS” and his CZARS. He appoints COMMUNISTS to almost every Department and thousands more Closet Communists as assistants. His hidden agenda is COMMUNISM. So what does that make him? A COMMUNIST!

***OBAMA IS CREATING THE CONDITION$$$ FOR OUR DOWNFALL as revenge for the fall of the USSR and the Iron Curtain.

Obama is also aiding in “PUTIN’S REVENGE.” The U.S. aided in the Soviet defeat in Afghanistan which was one domino that led to their eventual fall. Now Obama in aiding Putin, who aids any group or country that seeks our defeat in Afghanistan, Iraq, and the whole Middle East with the destruction of Israel as their main goal. Notice the overtures now to IRAN and with KGB DUPE JOHN KERRY? Putin aids Iran which spreads terrorism throughout the region and many of those groups started or have taken over the OBAMA’S ARAB SPRING. Notice that Obama was silent on IRAN’S GREEN REVOLUTION. What if he supported it as vigorously as the Arab Spring and the Mullah’s were overthrown by their own “People Power?” Wouldn’t the world be a different place today instead of an Iran on the verge of building nukes, which they will use? OBAMA IS IN RETREAT AND PUTIN WILL FILL THE VOID. “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!”

NO COUNTRY CAN DEFEAT THE US MILITARILY so Obama is creating the conditions for our FINANCIAL COLLAPSE. When, not if, this happens, Obama will be seen as much a hero to the world as Gorbachev is. The only bitter ones ARE US RIGHT-WINGERS, TEA PARTYERS, and HARD-CORE CAPITALISTS just like Obama and our Communists were bitter at the “Fall of Communism.”

      ***********************
OWS was started by Code Pink and the CPUSA and labeled as the “Day of Rage” Sept. 17. I found the promotion on their website since I always go there first. I then wrote about it on a national website, H.E., and several comments attacked me even though I wrote where to find the ad. The next day, they Communists removed all traces of the connection. Then, the “Day of Rage” turned into a movement and they said it was a leaderless spontaneous grassroots movement that Obama and the Dems supported even after all the crimes committed. I only wonder if the Tea Party had done the same crimes. I guarantee Obama would have called out the National Guard.

This comment is in response to R Stephan so all of you can be educated about OWS, which in Albuquerque was headed by many leaders of other CPUSA and ANSWER groups from the local Peace Center. If I was in your city, I could trace it to your local Peace Center too, and to CPUSA.

Because you have asshats in this country that will follow anything and believe that they are right. Usually because of medication or psychological issues that left untreated gets them to run down to the store and buy a PC so they can ‘seem’ superior because they now know how to post links. But 10 years ago they were abused by their step-dad and this is their only way to vent. Pissed off and will never go to a communist country. Speaking of, there aren’t that many left because many have woken up. Cuba is now stirring and will soon. China is a façade of a Communist country where they reap the benefits of democracy while all the upper party members live like kings. • DLeeC

Excellent analysis and I have first hand experiences. I was in college during the 80’s and our Spanish class was required to go to some far-left group meetings with a guest speaker from Nicaragua and another from the rebel group in El Salvador. Our prof made us write a paper on their topic and her statement to us said, “They only speak Spanish so you’ll get to hear that plus there will be an interpreter so you can compare your translation to theirs.” The lady rebel from El Salvador even said that she had killed a few people. This shocked me since there were campus Human Rights groups who sponsored her. “Isn’t killing a human the ultimate abuse of Human Rights?” This quote, in Spanish, in my paper must have touched a raw nerve in the prof because I got a C on the paper.

As a curiosity, I looked up the groups in the Associated Students Handbook and the adviser for all the groups was a professor from Cuba. I later met him at the second meeting, topic Construction Brigades to Nicaragua, meaning recruitment of students to go there, and he called himself, “A New Marxist” and he was explaining it to me but I couldn’t get over that a prof actually admitted it. When I opened my mouth at the meeting, again in Spanish, and I mentioned that the Cuban prof said he was a “New Marxist.” He stood up and said, “Where did you get that B**S**T information?” I was laughed at. The picture became clear right then. Our universities are full of these lying and deceiving Marxists who were preying on the young and naive and now we have one as President!

          • steve

No it was not America yet. America didn’t become a country until over 100 years later. The British started slavery here. Of course facts don’t matter right just the agenda?

          • Green Eggs And Ted

Slavery in America ended a lot longer ago than Communist Russia.

Sorry to burst your bubble about that

          • http://amandakmelson.wordpress.com/ GreenEyedGal

Not only did it end a lot longer ago in America than it did in Communist Russia, America was the FIRST country in which slavery ended. The way our country was founded, with a government that acknowledges and protects its citizens rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, made it inevitable that we would be the first country to tackle the problem of slavery. But we don’t talk about that. It doesn’t fit into the “Amerikkka sucks” narrative.

If Russia is putting on an opening ceremony in the Olympics about its history, it cannot completely gloss over the Communist era. I’m done with this.

Sure. And next time we have the Olympics here in the US, we should open our ceremonies with a big homage to slavery. In fact, let’s hold the Olympics in Birmingham, and then we can wrap up the opening ceremony with a bunch of people turning fire hoses onto random spectators in the crowd.

      • George

And we should have a cross burning with people dressed like Ku Klux clansmen singing and dancing around that burning cross. Of course we would not celebrate that, just as Russia did not celebrate the Stalin era. Some people are hell bent on finding fault.

I am not defending Communism – and I don’t think they honored it, as much as acknowledging an iconic symbol. The theme of the Opening Ceremonies (which were really spectacular, btw) was Russian history. So why wouldn’t they display that symbol? It doesn’t only stand for Communism – it stands for the industrial worker and the peasants who made up the evolution of the country.

      • Elizabeth

      • Ty in TX ✓ᵇᵒⁿᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Ok, but you do not seem to get that much like the swastika, a symbol of death, rebirth, and good luck, the hammer and sickle have become symbols of a very repugnant ideology and one that has a large cost in human lives.

        • George

The deaths were during the Stalin era, which they purposely did not honor.

          • Elizabeth

Right. Because when the Stalin era ended, the Soviet Union magically transformed to a land of rainbows and unicorns. Because Communism. Stalin was just a rotten egg that mucked up the Communist utopian ideal. Please! Stop trolling everybody with your nonsense.

          • George

Don’t be so foolish, Elizabeth. No one said that Communism was “…a land of rainbows and unicorns”. I said that the deaths (murders) occurred during the Stalin era, which is correct.

          • Ty in TX ✓ᵇᵒⁿᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

The Romanovs can come dancing out, accompanied by the Anvil Chorus and then at the end of the promenade, they can get festively gunned down by Red Octoberists with spark emitting machine guns all the while the White Bolsheviks do native folk dances in the background…before they get massacred.

          • George

            Good humor, Ty.

          • Richbert88

The entire communist era was the death of a nation, and several neighboring nations to that one. It continues to be so today. And the injustices didn’t end with Stalin, they were just ……more discreet.

What do you know about Vladmir Putin?
What do you know about the KGB?
What do you know about Vladimir Lenin?
What do you know about Joseph Stalin?
Do you know what a gulag is?
Do you realize, we defended innocent people against Communist Russia, Communist Germany? We lost lives, we lost our families????
Children were taken from there Mothers and never returned to there Mothers, ever.
Children were sent to orphanages because they were taken from there mothers at birth, so the mothers would never develop a bond or a relationship with their own child(ren) and were then put into training camps.
They would blow the bakers head off if he didn’t have any money in the till to pay Stalins henchmen, while people stood in the streets in lines and froze to death to maybe buy a loaf of bread.

All of these evils were committed against people by others serving the cause of the ‘Hammer and Sickle.” These are hardly reasons to display that symbol with anything what so ever resembling a sense of “pride” EVER! If anything, it should be taught in school as a symbol to never, ever to be forgotten of things and never, EVER to be repeated.

Please learn all you can while you can in life…History is to be learned from “GOOD and EVIL” is there, do NOT just take away bits and pieces of it…

I haven’t seen the ceremony yet. Did they do anything to acknowledge the purges, the 50-60 million killed by Stalin… ? I don’t know how one would do that at an Olympics ceremony anyway, but in that case I would think they would ignore the hammer and sickle too.

  • Al_the_Fish

One bit of symbolism a lot of people missed was just prior to the hammer and sickle appearance.

The scene started with a blackened stage, then a steam train was shown crossing the stadium, behind the train the lights turned to red, and there was a montage of various industrial workers. The symbolism is that the train represented the train the last Tzar and Tzarina rode on, from which they were removed and executed. Signalling the start of the Worker’s Party (red) takeover of Russia.

If you’ve ever seen the movie Nicholas and Alexandra, you could not miss the symbolism in the opening ceremony.

    • usmccp

I thought that was to represent the propoganda train

Its amazing how this Blog takes something which is in a communist country and immediately equates it with Barack Obama. I understand this is a Republican Blog, but come on! America takes the best things from our friends overseas and incorporates them into “A more perfect Union”. We have been doing this since the country was founded. There is nothing wrong with communism in and of itself, it is just another social system. Yes, I agree some leaders/dictators abused their power abroad just as we had (equal rights, slavery, etc) If it works for them, more power to them. They are very proud of where they have come from and so should we.

Nothing wrong with Communism in and of itself? Sure, if you’re an economic illiterate and morally bankrupt ignoramus who is incapable of learning the lessons of history.

      • Joe Billings

No, I’m no more illiterate than you. The definition of Communism has changed since the 1800’s. Please read up on it, plus America obviously has no problems doing business with communistic countries. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communisim – Don’t tell me Wikipedia is a democratic site funded by Barack Obama – it is very neutral about things for a reason.
I’ll tell you one lesson America learned within the last 60 years is that capitalism can be just as bad as communism, either way it is all about those at the top pulling all the strings, if they are corrupt, then any system will be a disaster. Under both administrations, Republicans and Democrats we have had major issues with capitalism.

        • http://therightplanet.com/ Brent P.

Ah, yes, the old, tired, worn-out refrain of the communist apologist: “We just haven’t done it right yet … it’s still a noble ideal worth fighting for!”

Funny how dems and leftists are always are so proud to tell me they’ve been the major power for the past 60 years.

There’s not a damn thing wrong with freedom and liberty. Crony capitalism is not free enterprise, but rather FASCISM, i.e. big gov + big biz. And there’s barely a plug’s nickel worth of difference between fascism and communism–a centrally planned, one-party state.

We are starting to see this on a world level. I’ve lived overseas and the entitlement that is being propagated far exceeds ours. In France riots occurred for 11 days while they basically sat back and did nothing. Europeans will never fight back. They never have–they accept whatever government comes their way. Mostly. There are a few times when they stood up. Not many. Hence how the Third Reich from one lone country almost took over the world.
Ok they placed a communist symbol. No American should support the Olympics then. Every American athlete should walk off. Every ticket holder go home. No one turn on the television.
But most of America won’t do that. Our forefathers sacrificed everything but most today won’t deprive themselves of entertainment for cause. That’s why you’re losing to the Progressive. For if you can’t even refuse to watch the Olympics then what are you going to do when they come for your guns or whatever else they want?
    Nothing.

Communism would be in the dust bin of history if not for the unflagging efforts of the Democratic Party to keep it alive and growing.

Putin’s just tugging at the nostalgia of Russians over 40. He doesn’t give two ***** about Communism. And he knew it would draw gasps from the West. The Czar had a good laugh at this.

  • schizuki

Oh, c’mon. If they hadn’t acknowledged communism at all, you’d complain about that, too. I didn’t get the impression at all that they were celebrating it. It was ambivalent. They recognized undeniable history in a very general fashion.

Walter Duranty alive and well! And still an apologist.

  • Art_Fold

It’s nice to see Russia’s special effects department has made it into the 1970’s.

  • TheOracle

    Obama’s Czars approve!

  • Guest

I wish they hadn’t done that. The hammer and sickle should be as
offensive as the swastika. It’s one of the most evil symbols ever
    created.

  • Guest

This made me sick. Russia’s communist past is NOTHING to be proud of. The hammer and sickle should be as offensive as the swastika. It’s one of the most evil symbols ever created.

    ok

  • Samantha Pfaff

What’s with the ginormous disembodied heads? I think they’re pretty creepy.

  • irishgirl91

Not enough pillows? Communism obviously kills Bed Bath and Beyond. That alone should prove it’s evilness.

  • bill_a_bob

Obama must be kicking himself so not showing up.

    • tedlv

I was thinking exactly the same thing while I was reading the article.

  • lillapoyka

I bet Obama got a woody when he saw that come into the stadium

  • Mark Webb

Communism, like all collectivism, is shared poverty of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

  • AZWarrior

NBC had a total Bro-mance for Putin and a 1970s Pravda front page on the teleprompter. Enough to make one ill.

  • Ray Mccollum

    Putin waxing nostalgic.

  • daanerud

    It is their country.
Here in America the US flag would be a dominating symbol.
The symbol of freedom for those who love freedom.

  • livfreeordi

So.. I assume the next time the Olympic Games are held in Germany, it will be OK to start the proceedings with the display of a huge swastika? After all, the precedent has just been set!

  • Don Bailey

Funny – it’s a direct result of communism that the water system is Sochi dispenses yellow toxic water, the hotel doors have no handles, the hotels have little to no lightbulbs, sidewalks have open manholes, etc., etc. Yet it doesn’t keep them from celebrating communism. Kind of like celebrating unemployment as liberation.

  • porgiefirefighter

Hammer and sickle: a telling salute to the system that turned Russia into a soulless, corrupt hellhole. A hellhole so profound that they haven’t yet cultivated the will to pull themselves out of it.

  • HuandaRulz

    Obama’s wettest dream.

  • Abbie Mills

Although seductive to the feeble-minded, the notion that knowledge somehow magically exists apart from the individuals who know it is false.

  • Richard Vandiamondsworth

Cankles the cuckold has already called Putin, asking about borrowing these props for her 2016 run.
