A federal judge has decided the fate of Chicago’s firearm sales ban:

Piers Morgan, as you would expect, disapproves of the decision:

Others on the pro gun control side shared Morgan’s disappointment:

https://twitter.com/GGNDRiRock/status/420326808467148800

However, Second Amendment supporters thought the ruling was a “win”:

“Constitution” being the key word. But don’t tell that to “Musket” Morgan.

  • H50 ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Good. Maybe now the good people of Chicago can defend themselves from the thugs that are armed illegally.

    • Mead

They’ll still never allow concealed carry, but home invasions just got a lot more dangerous.

      • H50 ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Yep, the SC said that was unconstitutional too, but they’re still making it a nightmare process, nothing changed there.

        • Michelle ✓classified

All concealed carry laws are absolutely an infringement on the part of the 2nd Amendment that guarantees a person’s right to bear arms.

          • H50 ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Yea I know, I was talking about the man that sued the City for the overly cumbersome/impossible requirements of the city for applicants. The case took about ten years to wind its way thru the courts and was ruled unconstitutional at the Supreme Court level. Even tho the City lost and was spanked by the courts, they have not changed a thing and still do everything they can to make it impossible to get a CCW, even tho they are required by law to accept and process them.

All laws are an infringement on the right to bear arms.

          • Michelle ✓classified

Absolutely. Each and every gun law in any state or on a Federal level is a violation of the Constitution.

          • Calcat36

Precisely, as the Constitution spells it out clearly, leaving states absolutely NO wiggle room! My question, Michelle, is how the heck did we ever allow this to happen in the first place?

          • H50 ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

By not voting our elected officials out of office as they slowly whittled away our rights. By doing nothing, we implied it was ok and they ran with it.

to be fair, most, not all, but most of those murders in Chicago are thugs killing thugs. however, this is good and may result in a drop in those non thug on thug crimes and crime overall.

      • H50 ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Wont affect gang crime at all. And innocents will still get caught in the crossfire.
It will affect home invasion robberies and rapes tho.

        • thetreyman

it could. if the people are willing to take back their neighborhoods. law abiding citizens should be arming themselves and patrolling their neighborhoods in force. make it hard for the criminals to do their business. that’s how you clean up the streets. of course Chicago PD would probably want to arrest the the good guys to protect the bad.

      • Michelle ✓classified

Those thugs on thugs crimes are what is killing a lot of the children in that state. How many times a year do we hear about an innocent child shot in the crossfire? No bans on guns prevent that.

        • thetreyman

like i said, not all are thug on thug. in face i don’t care if the thugs kill each other. i have not argued for any ban and in fact support law abiding citizens arming themselves to protect themselves and take back their neighborhoods from the criminal element.

  • Michelle ✓classified

These over-reaching gun laws impact only legal, safe and responsible owners. The vast majority of gun violence in Chicago (or anywhere for that matter) is done with folks who don’t legally own those guns.

Major kudos to this Federal judge!

On a side note, any and all states (CA included) that do not allow conceal carry for the general public are also in violation of the 2nd Amendment. CA rolls over and takes that violation of their right to “bear” arms, would be fantastic to see an uprising over that.

    • CR

Well, the bright spot for the demoncrats… the criminals that will now be forced to go out of business because they fear that they might actually be met with some resistance when they commit mayhem will now become new supporters of unemployment benefits. Assuming you can qualify for unemployment when you have to give up your career as a robber or gang banger. Since its Chicago, I’m guessing you can….

  • CR

Can’t you just hear the sound of all of those guns that were sitting in those stock rooms just waiting to irrationally go on killing sprees of their own accord. They are breathing a sigh of relief because they can now go out and commit murder since the only thing stopping their massive killing spree was a firearm sales ban (because, you know, murder isn’t already illegal).

A belief of theirs that never fails to crack me up. I won’t give the exact number of how many guns are in my house (locked in a safe), but just know it’s definitely much higher than the average. And yet, none of them have ever inspired me or my guy to go on a murderous rampage. And neither have they ever had the gumption to get out of the safe on their own accord and go kill someone. Very, very well behaved arsenal in this house.

    • H50 ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Criminals cant get their guns legally.

      • LinTaylor ✓vitrified

        Exactly.

    • Michelle ✓classified

Very, very….very few. We all know, it’s a solid fact – strict gun laws do not keep guns out of the hands of criminals, but only out of the hands of legal, safe and responsible gun owners.

    • Republicanvet

…and the obvious next point, when caught, how many are prosecuted?

      • Calcat36

Prosecutions of Brady law violations have been miniscule. Like law currently on the books, lax enforcement and a lack of resources, means many violators have not been convicted of violent crimes, and the “war on drugs.”

This anti-gun nut should be in jail, along with David Gregory:

“While I support and respect Mark Kelly’s 2nd Amendment rights to purchase, possess, and use firearms in a safe and responsible manner, his recent statements to the media made it clear that his intent in purchasing the Sig Sauer M400 5.56mm rifle from us was for reasons other then for his personal use. In light of this fact, I determined that it was in my company’s best interest to terminate this transaction prior to his returning to my store to complete the Federal From 4473 and NICS background check required of Mr. Kelly before he could take possession this firearm. A full refund was sent to Mr. Kelly, via express mail, on Thursday of last week.”

That is right, the crusader LIED in order to break a law and prove his delusional point.

And what will the liberals say when the death toll starts to decline after people have armed themselves?
Personally, if it weren’t for the innocent bystanders that killed in the crossfire of these thugs I wouldn’t care about them killing each other off.

    • Michael Hardy

When that happens, you’ll instead get treated to the next poor little child (who really isn’t) Trayvon (with multiple examples of violence in his past that you’ll only hear about later) gunned down by the next evil brooding snarling paranoid racist white (or close enough to CALL white) George Zimmerman

        Jawamax 8<{D}

    • Michelle ✓classified

“And what will the liberals say when the death toll starts to decline after people have armed themselves?”

That’s already reality, so I can answer that for you: Liberals will ignore that solid fact.

Gun ownership (legal) is at an all-time high in the United States. Gun related deaths have decreased (some reports saying as much as 50%, pick a figure that makes sense to you). Gun related deaths in the US peaked in 1993, as of 2010, that number declined by 49%. And yet, more folks legally own guns today than they did in 1993.

This is a hardcore truth the Left and all Liberals will solidly ignore and deny.

      • H50 ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Another study was just done looking at a 30 year span of violent crimes/murders (by a Democrat no less) that showed where more citizens have access to legal firearms for self protection/defense, gun violence, especially murder rates goes down constantly.
