So far, the 2013 Twitchys have included awards for the most embarrassing deleted tweets and the best celebrity meltdowns. Today we’re bringing you the top 15 “oops” tweets, including some of the year’s best typos, pocket tweets and other bizarre and awkward screw-ups.
Let’s get started:
#15:
We’ll kick this off with talk-show host Bill Press, who had an unfortunate typo in this tweet about the Trayvon Martin trial:

Oops!
One wrong letter is the cause of many a deleted tweet, and we’ll feature more before the 2013 “oops” tweet awards are over.

#14:
Rapper “The Game” comes in at number 14 for this tweet, which was a memorial to Trayvon Martin containing a regrettable error:
#TBT "I AM TRAYVON MARTIN". Rest In Piece lil brother. #SenselessMurder http://t.co/xNJ4OGJN2V
— The Game (@thegame) July 11, 2013
Rest in what?
Oops!

#13:
Coming in at number 13 is one of the most unintentionally honest pocket tweets ever. Maybe Sen. Debbie Stabenow was trying to let her Twitter followers know the cost of all of the Dem policies she supports:
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
— Debbie Stabenow (@stabenow) October 21, 2013
Oops!
But we do appreciate the honesty, Sen. Stabenow.

In early August, there was an attempted burglary at Kid Rock’s home. The Detroit rocker offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest, but the Associated Press accidentally upped the ante:
Kid Rock offers $55K reward for info after man tries to break into musician's house: http://t.co/svC8GMmpou -KK
— The Associated Press (@AP) August 3, 2013
Oops!
The AP later corrected the amount:
CORRECTS REWARD AMOUNT: Kid Rock offers $5K reward for info after man tries to break into musician's house: http://t.co/OInAZ62YYT -KK
— The Associated Press (@AP) August 3, 2013
Nobody appreciated the correction more than Kid Rock.

Back in April, Martha Stewart caused some confusion with the one-word tweet, “OiI”:
OiI
— Martha Stewart (@MarthaStewart) April 22, 2013
Oops!
We’re still not certain what Stewart was trying to say, and perhaps that’s a good thing.

#9:
“New Math on the Block” from “New Kid on the Block” Donnie Wahlberg. Here’s a tweet the singer ended up deleting after a deluge of mockery:
$2,000,000 … $2 … so close, yet so far.

NFL Hall of Famer Joe Theismann was so excited about Beyonce’s Super Bowl halftime performance that he forgot to proofread this tweet before heaving it down field:

My bad meant shut down house

All is well.

In October, California’s Obamacare exchange touted its fluency in a language called “Asian.” This head-scratcher earns the number seven spot:
Service center supporting calls in 13 languages and using interpreter service for other languages: 9% of calls Spanish; 3% Asian; 1% other.
— Covered California (@CoveredCA) October 24, 2013
Oops!
Are the interpreters also fluent in South American, North American and European?

On February 1st, the Energy Department tweeted what was supposed to be a link to Secretary Chu’s resignation letter:
Instead, the link in the now-deleted tweet went to an article about pancreatic cancer, earning it a sixth place award:
@ENERGY Are you sure thats the right link? When I click it, it leads to an article on Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer.
— CoolGuy (@ProjectFEF) February 1, 2013
Oops!
Too bad the link didn’t go to an article about Solyndra.

The Department of Energy has the honor of being the recipient of two 2013 Twitchys. The second award is for this tweet published at the start of the Super Bowl. The department bragged about how “green energy” helped power the stadium:
Learn how #SuperBowl host city embraces #energy efficiency on & off the football field http://t.co/nNlGcIuT
— Energy Department (@ENERGY) February 3, 2013
The problem isn’t the tweet, but what happened just after it was published. Following Beyoncé’s halftime performance, there was 34-minute blackout at the New Orleans Superdome.
“Green energy” oops!

Back in January, Scott Brown captivated Twitter with one word: “Bqhatevwr”:
http://twitter.com/#!/ScottBrownMA/status/295044919775612929
The, uh, “word,” trended nationally:

Coming in at number three is this tweet from USA Today, written after John Kerry’s congressional testimony prompted Vladimir Putin to call him a liar. Based on that setup, what’s wrong with this picture?
Obama calls Kerry a liar http://t.co/dQHQ1ikrML
— USA TODAY's The Oval (@TheOval) September 5, 2013
Missed it by that much:
@TheOval Should be Putin not Obama?
— mpob (@mpob) September 5, 2013

This cringe-worthy O-care typo does Common Core proud. You need Obamacare because it’ll give your mom “piece of mind”:
#GetCovered because
your mom will have peace of mind
(and you will as well).http://t.co/GNfbftrfo3, pic.twitter.com/AP3HLgeQBV— White House Archived (@ObamaWhiteHouse) December 12, 2013
Oops!
We think Team Obama also wanted everybody to talk about Obamacare during the holidays while enjoying a peace of pie.

The number one “Oops” tweet of the year goes to one of the most awkward typos ever.
http://twitter.com/#!/pfeiffer44/status/387575847122907136
White House adviser Dan Pfeiffer, take a bow.
