@BarackObama, the Twitter account operated by Organizing for Action, recently tweeted this bit of dream-world ridiculousness:

Blogger Caleb Howe and the “Underpants Gnome” got to work and fixed it:

Much more realistic now!

Editor’s note: The title and text of this post have been corrected to indicate that the original tweet came from the Organizing for Action Twitter account @BarackObama, and not from the White House Twitter account. Twitchy regrets the error.

Phase 3: Profit! @BarackObama reveals sure-fire plan for jump-starting the economy

  • americanexile

Broken window fallacy, look it up. Basic economics. Paying people more doesn’t create more wealth. It reallocates a set amount that would otherwise be put to different uses.

Higher wages means fewer small businesses who often need to operate at a loss in their first years.

  • Traitors will be hung

    Obama is a dumbass!

  • cmerlo1

It’s things like this that show the complete lack of real world experience anyone in the administration has.

First Drunk: “I have a foolproof scheme– I buy at $10 and sell at $9…”
Second Drunk: “How do you hope ever to make money on that deal?”
    First Drunk: “Volume!”

Actually I think that joke’s been floating around since the Abbot & Costello days :)

Two guys buy a truck together, drive to Idaho from California, load up the truck with potatoes, then turn around, head back to California, and sell them.

The truck holds a ton of potatoes; gas for the round trip is $200 and they pay another $500 for the spuds (25 cents per pound). They sell the potatoes at 30 cents a pound, for a total of $600.

After a couple months doing this nonstop, they’re still in the red. Neither one can figure it out until one has an epiphany:

“We need to buy a second truck!”

That is awfully like our current president. All about volume and lacking any substance.

BHO and the WH staff lie as easily as they breathe. Heard about Uncle Onyango? BHO’s uncle that the WH claimed he “never met?” Ooops? Turns out BHO crashed at his place for a few weeks when he was a student in the 80’s.

So the explanation today, when it came out was:
‘White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters at Thursday’s White House briefing that, when the issue of Obama’s uncle came up in 2011, the press office “looked at the president’s records, including the president’s book” and found no reference to him.
“That was what was conveyed,” he said. “No one had spoken to the president.”‘

Correction to above: it was the 70’s.

Update to the Correction: WAPost says 80’s, Boston Globe says 70’s. Guys, get your lies, er, stories straight, please!

  • Zathras11 @B5

Why not $09.09 or $11.11? Not to mention $12.12, $13.13 or $14.14. Those are all equally meaningless, stupid numbers picked simply for how cool they sound.

And we still suck for jobs.

  • Right Wired ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

If their math is correct, then increasing the minimum wage by 30,000% to 2,182.25 per hour will result in 144,000,000 new jobs.

Right there is proof that none of 0bama’s worshippers has ever taken a basic math course.

Hey, don’t Underpants Gnomes really “steal” underpants–just like Obumuh steals from the American taxpayer, with no real plan for anything, and is failing miserably.

America is lost. America of yesteryear was a far different place. In the early part of the last century millions came here with nothing including my fathers family. I am just the3rd generation born here. My dads family including him were all self employed. From hucksters in the early 1900’s to full service gas station owners in the 40’s through the 70’s.

They MADE work. Today they wait for work to come to them.

  • $84598387

Remember what Pelosi Obama and Carney and others said was great for the economy?

    Unemployment and food stamps.

“It is the biggest bang for the buck when you do food stamps and unemployment insurance. The biggest bang for the buck,” Pelosi said.

“Let me say that unemployment insurance… is one of the biggest stimuluses
(sic) to our economy. Economists will tell you, this money is spent
quickly. It injects demand into the economy, and it’s job creating. It
creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name.” Pelosi

” “If you talk to economists,” Rep (D)Steney Hoyer contended,
“they will tell you there are two things that are the most stimulative
that you can do — one’s unemployment insurance, the other’s food stamps,

Right here on the OFFICIAL White House website.

“What’s more, SNAP is boosting the economy right now.”

And shouldn’t the White House website be a non partisan site that represents ALL of America and Americans? A PARTISAN WH website, which is paid for by all of us, is not right. Obama’s personal lobbying sites are one thing, but the WH being so damn partisan?

    • $84598387

And I find it highly ironic that the official WH website is touting the benefits of the SNAP program while not taking any responsibility for being the cause of so many on SNAP to begin with.

  • MBrooks

I don’t know why everybody thinks the graphic is wrong…it looks correct to me. They just conveniently left out that it’s China’s GDP that grows by $32B and China’s workforce that gains 140,000 jobs.

  • https://twitter.com/thehiredmind Hired Mind

Why not raise the minimum wage to $1,000,000 per hour? Then we’d only have to work a few more hours, and we’d all be rich!

  • tops116 ✓Quipper

I don’t think the comparison is apt. The Underpants Gnomes at least had a work ethic. All Obama has is a teleprompter and a golf bag.

  • lainer51

  • supplyguy

Loved the underpants gnome episode. And the funny thing about it was that it was making fun of how liberals attack successful businesses. I’ll bet all of the liberals that watched the episode didn’t even see themselves in it.

  • AuAgFinder

About a year ago I was at Walmart and ahead of me in line were two(2) 300+ pound women with at least 20 boxes of Macaroni and Cheese and nothing else. They paid for it with their SNAP card. Then the second one bought a carton of cigarettes using cash. My vision of the SNAP program will be forever tainted by a vision of these 2 ladies sitting down to a delicious dinner of Mac and Cheese, night after night.
