The White House website has added this to their original “guarantee”:

The President addressed concerns from Americans who have received letters of policy cancellations or changes from their insurance companies in an interview with NBC News, watch the video or read a transcript.

So they’ve acknowledged Americans have received cancellation letters and yet “if you like the insurance you have, keep it” remains.

Amazingly, or maybe not so much, another page on the site is still pushing the “if you like your plan you can keep it” lie:

If a company in the private sector refused to remove blatant lies like these we’re guessing the Justice Department would have been all over them by now.

‘Misprint’? White House ‘keep it’ page: People won’t be forced to ‘change the insurance they have. Period’

  • Maxx

I’m at the point where I don’t want to see a delay. Why? We tried to get one, they balked. Told us “it’s the law” and demanded we leave it alone. OK, fine. Let’s do exactly that and be entertained by all the Democrats running from it as they seek reelection in the fall. They broke it…they buy it. PERIOD

Chris Matthews calls the Affordable Care Act Obama’s baby.

    BS. More like Rosemary’s baby.

    • HanaFiveO

My only concern with the “let it go down in flames” mantra is the millions of people who fought this debacle and didn’t vote for Obama, who will be collateral damage.
Admittedly, I have a selfish interest in the outcome, I’m one of those collateral damage folks.

      • Canadian in USA ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Not to mention that it’ll become so intrenched (and Dems will make sure of it) that repeal will become much more difficult.

        • HanaFiveO

Yea, I got mad a long time ago. Guess some of us will just have to get crushed for the good of the collective right?

          • nc ✓s & balances

I really think the damage has been done. I don’t want to see any more cancellations, but slowing things down isn’t going to help your situation, is it? BHO and the Dems are so committed to this thing it will have to die, the quicker the better, not just be allowed to limp along.

I’m expecting my notice any time, so I’ve thought about this, and what I’d do.

          • HanaFiveO

I agree that it is only going to get worse as time goes by and more Americans are devastated by cancellations. The problem is that total repeal isn’t going to happen IMHO. Look at the history of Medicaid, the parallels are there. We still have it even tho its a nose hair away from insolvency. Ocare was front loaded with goodies for just this reason.

Stopping the bleeding may not help me, but it will help others.
To coldly say that some of us will just have to get crushed for the good of the collective, makes us no better than the progs who want to collapse the system and hurt as many as possible to reach the goal of single payer.

Cruz had it right; de-fund, delay, repeal and replace. Too bad the establishment wont listen, it will cost them dearly in the end.

          • nc ✓s & balances

This is why I always hated the “sit back and let it fail under it’s own weight” argument that the elites were pushing when criticizing Cruz up to and during the shutdown. I knew that too many innocent people would be devastated and at least Cruz, Lee and others were willing to fight.

So now the damage has begun, and how to undo? Even if they stopped it now, could they put the broken pieces back? I don’t know, I don’t think so.

Dr. Ben Carson and Tom Price (R-GA), also a doctor, has each had really great plans that haven’t gotten much attention. I’m sure there are other ideas too. The GOP must push hard to get those ideas out in the public eye, because we need a way forward. It’s clear BHO screwed things up so bad we won’t be able to go back. JMHO

          • HanaFiveO

No easy answers for sure nc. Doing nothing is simply not an option IMHO. The carnage has to stop or it will adversely effect the economy and will will see the crash sooner, rather than later. Its not just healthcare/insurance.
The carnage simply has to stop. We need the breathing room to be able to dissect and repair as much as possible before anymore of this poop sammich gets implemented.

I grind my molars into dust every time I hear a Dem talking head say the Rs are offering no solutions. There are lots of solutions being offered, but the message isn’t being delivered well or heard. I tend to lean towards plans from doctors (like Carson) and those with medical backgrounds, even if they have been out of the field for a while (like Price?). They already know what the problems are and what the effective fixes would be. One thing they seem to have in common tho is to stop this thing in its tracks now, before any further damage is done and then take it apart and fix.
When your property is being flooded, one must build a dam to stop the erosion before you can figure out how to safely divert the water.

Amen, sister! I’m praying for you.

          • HanaFiveO

Same to you nc, God help us all with the strength and grace that is required during these maddening times.
Or else, I’ll just start smacking folks with my toaster.

Too late. The collateral damage has occurred. Time to get mad…..real mad.

        • OneThinDime

Good start is to get the back-stabbing, illegal alien pandering Paul Ryan out of Congress.

          • WisconsinPatriot

After reviewing your posts, I initially wrote you off as a concern troll. This IS true, but I also wonder what planet you are broadcasting from. You don’t like Paul Ryan….fine. But you know what, WE will make the determination of his fitness. Thus far, his only opponents are LOONS (like yourself) and therefore not qualified to serve. TAKE OFF!

          • OneThinDime

Paul Ryan’s pandering to illegal aliens puts the safety of ALL Americans at risk, not just the cheese heads. Illegals love to rape, murder and molest children. Check out Michelle Malkin’s blog for the latest American youth murdered.

Illegals are bankrupting city after city and leaving a path of destruction behind them. And if you think they are all from Mexico, take a clue from ICE & Border Patrol, more than 50% entering illegally are MUSLIMS.

I never thought I would say this but Joe Biden is a better Vice President than Paul Ryan ever would be. Enjoy the homosexuality coming to Wisconsin now that the pretend Catholic boy has crawled out of the closet for homosexuals adopting children.

Unfortunately, elections have consequences. It’s up to us to make sure that the elections of 2014 and 2016 have good consequences.

    • Booker

No delays. This is the time for the Republican party to NOT compromise. We can’t play these games all year. No delays. Only repeals.

    • Kristin

There is nothing that can be done…it is law, right? OH WAIT! He is going to throw in a few new provisions to the LAW that was already PASSED AS IS….wait…can he do that??? Um, well he is gonna try b/c there is so much BAD in it and FINALLY everyone is seeing it for what it really is!! The real problem is still coming…when the employer mandate comes in 11 months from now….well, not just the small businesses are screwed but EVERYONE that holds a job with benefits and pays taxes. But, on the plus side, the web site may be up and running by then and we can at least all get our identities stolen….

Could someone in the house just start a motion of censure or something on him, get it on record that he’s a lying liar who lies? I’d say impeachment for dereliction of duty, but we know that’d never fly.

Like Benghazi, IRS, and other scandals, this will also, fade away. GOP was impotent in responding to the liberal assault on America’s progress. With RINO’s sabotaging conservative attempt to save America, the enemy within should be the focus.

Now that we’re allowing politicians to run the nation’s private businesses like meta-CEOs (for some unknown reason), shouldn’t we be able to fire them when things go wrong? What about criminal penalties for fraud? They’re stealing from us … a lot.

  • Acethepug

No, the last bit is technically correct. President Passive Voice DID address concerns — he simply did so by doubling down on his lies.

  • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

    Let’s be honest here: KING FINK OBAMA has doubled down on the “If you like your Doctor/Policy, you can keep it” lie almost as many times as the House Republicans tried to repeal this Obamadible Healthcare Scam……. If HE knows whats REALLY good for America, he’d REPEAL IT, or at least DELAY THIS MESS Until it works properly, and not FORCE it on us! (Read:Make it VOLUNTARY!) And, he should also make things right for the 4.2 Million people who have already lost their Health Insurance. But I, for one, ain’t holding my breath.. Jawamax 8<{D}
