We’re not sure precisely what happened, but a conversion was not the end result.
It started after British actor, writer and devout atheist Stephen Fry took to Twitter to offer praise for fellow atheist Richard Dawkins:
Superb. Yes @RichardDawkins does takes on Islam just as much as other religions. He's brave & honourable http://t.co/ANNwKzXTwe
— Stephen Fry (@stephenfry) August 22, 2013
Naturally Fry heard from some religious people, but decided to put an end to the discussion:
Ending this monumentally tedious religious thread. Believe in your invisible friends as much as you like. Let the rest of us the fuck alone.
— Stephen Fry (@stephenfry) August 22, 2013
Later Fry saw this question:
Why do people like @stephenfry get so arsily defensive when they dismiss the theological sciences? It is tiresome in the extreme.
— Wealands Bell ? (@WealandsBell) August 22, 2013
Which prompted Fry to close out with more mega blanket insults:
@Wealands_Bell And since you mention it, it's because "theology" kills, maims, abuses, lies, distorts, ignores truths and just hopes. Bad.

If you don't like my utter contempt for your sky-fairies and invisible friends and their commandments UNFOLLOW AND BLOCK ME. Simple. D'uh.

Duly noted.
