What exactly escalated quickly?

Guardian reporter Glenn Greenwald came to the chivalrous defense of Edward Snowden after Adam Serwer’s father, Daniel, made a comment to Greenwald:

Greenwald’s status as Edward Snowden superfan: Confirmed.

But Daniel Serwer’s son, MSNBC reporter Adam Serwer, took exception to Greenwald:

“Journalist” slap fights are kind of fun, aren’t they?

Editor’s note: Greenwald’s name was misspelled in the original version of this post. We apologize for the error.

  • Red Fred

Interesting. Glenn doesn’t have to sink to using the “F” word to make a point. Well done. (Note to Adam: all of us should be so lucky as to know nothing about Daniel Serwer, i.e. pseudo reporter.)

  • waterytart

By the same token, Bobby Jindahl, Scott Walker, both Bush’s, Rick Perry are all someone’s father as well, but that doesn’t stop the likes of you and your colleagues from vilifying them, now does it?

    • Rene Boeve

      they all RICHLY deserve vilification!!!

      • Mark81150

oh…. come here from the idiot moveon crowd have you?

No one on that list who ISN’T a vastly superior man than Obama… or ANY democrat in their leadership.. liberals are scumbags and douches.

  • Joe W.

Adam Sewer has a sewer mouth, doesn’t he?

  • Ntr

LMAO, liberal tears are delicious. He certainly took Greenwald’s opinion, posted on an informal medium, to heart quickly. What a loon.

  • GrindingMills

I’d probably say the same thing if anyone attacked my family for no apparent reason. I’m not hating on this one.

    • TheExecutiveProducer

      “…no apparent reason.”

If anyone in your family made a snide, unprovoked, antagonistic remark like the one Serwer Sr. made, they’d have it coming.

  • Jack Deth

    Memo to Mr. Serwer:

You suffer from such a catastrophic and embarrassing case of Cranial Rectal Insertion, if you were to fart, you’d blow what few brains you have left, out!

  • Stephen L. Hall

I can’t wait until these people grow up and we can have some elementary school level arguments.

  • Jason Gary

Snowden can’t even face the music he’s written. He’s a coward who expected and received fame, and now he’s begging other countries to take him in, tail between legs. He’s not a hero; he’s a guy who talked candidly to international reporters. Do people really not know what heroes are anymore??

    • Bumr50

I really don’t think much about Edward Snowden. I don’t know his motivations. I may never.

But I DO know that his revelations about NSA snooping are legit.

All the “right” people are calling for his head. And by “right,” I mean people who I can’t stand in our FedGov.

Honestly, what do you think would’ve happened to him, regardless of his motivations or political affiliations, if he’d have gone through what you would consider “the proper channels?”

Answer: No one would ever know who Snowden was or what he had to say.

Everyone from John McCain to Barack Obama would’ve made sure of that.

There was a time when I MIGHT have agreed that the surveillance in question was necessary.

      That time is long passed.

Our Federal Government is reaping what they’ve sown, and I’m more than happy to let them flail.

      • Worship Dancer

do you seriously think snowden wouldn’t have had some kind of “accident” or been “maliciously gunned down by a crazed gun owner”?

  • KhadijahMuhammad

Adam’s right — his dad doesn’t have a wikipedia page. So, we don’t know anything about him.

Wait —- if he had accomplished anything in life, he’d have a page, right? :-)

  • JoeMyGodNYC

“Greenwald’s name was misspelled in the original version of this post.”

If anybody else had done that, they would be the subject of yet another taunting and mocking Twitchy post.

    • mike_in_kosovo

Yes, because Twitchy never gives credit when someone corrects an error, right Joe?

Hold on, Joe…the WAAAAAAaaaahmbulance is on it’s way to your location even as we speak!

    • fireandreamitchell

Want some cheese with your whine prognut?

      • Mark81150

oh me like…. might have to borrow that one.

    • Sons Thunder

How often does Twitchy use this graphic?

      • Mark81150

Can’t say, first I’ve seen it..

and YOU NEVER EVER make a spelling error?

or ever admit you made a mistake?

        lame chumly, lame…

        • Sons Thunder

Unlike Michelle Malkin & Twitchy Staff, I don’t pretend I am William Safire. I am happy to admit the many grammatical errors I make. If I made a habit of mocking others’ errors, I would expect to be teased when making similar mistakes.

    • tops116

If anybody else had made an error and *not* corrected it, Joe would be the first one to bemoan anyone pointing that out.

What’s the matter, Joe? Upset that Twitchy actually cops to making a mistake like the spelling of Greenwald’s name? Or did you have trouble reaching your whiny quota on Monday and needed something to complain about?

    • putthehammerdown

I thought little girls only whined about trivial stuff like Hello Kitty unavailability and Miley’s old boyfriend.
Glad to see I am wrong. Keep it up, and keep us thinking,
      dearest Joely………..

    • Mark81150

Really?… Twitchy goes after spelling errors?

do you even have any basic reading skills.. or bother reading before you post?

  • ThomasCollins1

Snowden is just another NSA scam. With all the technology, all the wiretaps and spying on over 300 million Americans, they missed Sonwden? (Jay Leno).

  • notenoughtime

Juveniles should not be hired to fill the seats that once held adults who took their profession seriously

  • Exodus2011

    GOOD JOB Glenn

Stay staunch – if you are upsetting the Obama-Cheerleaders at MSNBC you are doing America a great SERVICE

Snowden is a young and courageous American …a whistleblower who is loyal to The Constitution FIRST rather than the currently CORRUPT Govt

He selected the documents to leak very carefully, so that only the CORRUPTOCRATS would be damaged, and not people put at risk, or national security compromised

    very clever indeed

If the Bushie NEOCONS R guilty of also conducting ILLEGAL SPYING on Americans via NSA before Obama ramped it up ON STEROIDS they must ALL BE EXPOSED, and dealt with by The Law

Stay with Snowden America! …the one who has exposed the TRAMPLING of your 4th Amendment RIGHTS!

    #BeClingers ———> #AmericaRISING

  • J.N. Ashby

Considering Snowden leaked Constitutional violations by the government and Daniel Serwer’s son is an MSNBC reporter, one did a good thing and one made a schmuck. So there’s that.

  • tops116

And tomorrow, Adam Serwer will join Wil Wheaton in lecturing others about the lack of etiquette on the Internet.

  • teapartydoc

    Girl fight!

  • Paul C.

It’s the answer when MSNBC can’t answer the question. With their ratings Soros got to be propping them up.

  • DirtyDave

What the heck is PeaceFare.net? More to the point, how much money can you make by getting a fair piece? Sounds like a cush job for someone doing something nefarious.

Oh, yeah, and who is Adam Serwer and why do I care given that he’s on MSNBC? And will be go bald like his father? Should he plan for a toupee if he wants to stay on TV?

Bytch fight! JoeMyGawdNYC is gonna like this one. Bet he votes Weiner/Spitzer.

Eric Snowden courts America’s enemies and seeks to ensconce himself within their borders for the rest of his life — but he’s an ‘American hero’. Vapid idiots.

    • Mark81150

have to agree with you on Snowden… he hasn’t acted like a hero.. trading his stolen secrets for asylum in enemy nations..

the others.. you can disagree, I won’t call em names over it.

  • Brosephus

Guys, guys. Let’s not deify Glenn. He’s a rabid, anti – american, socialist, hard- left troll who may have just helped break the story of the decade. That’s a great thing to see (it smacks of real journalism, for once!) but it doesn’t change the substance of who Glenn is neither does it chance the reality of his sickening motivation. We can praise the good he has done while acknowledging the fact that he is fundamentally not on our side…
