The source of Wheaton’s Twitter outburst against the Wisconsin governor was Walker’s signing of a bill “requiring doctors to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals in order to perform abortions, and women to first have an ultrasound to ‘bond’ with the fetus.”

Wheaton’s tweet is evidence that he doesn’t heed his own advice. Here’s a flashback tweet from last month:

A study in dual tweeting personalities.

In closing, “shut up, Wesley”:

Update:

Aw, Wheaton doesn’t like having his tweets quoted verbatim by Twitchy. Bless his precious heart.

Why are they so against, I don’t know….Information? Having actual doctors perform abortions, and have hospital admitting privileges? I mean, since they’re for “women’s health” and all that. What a bunch of losers.

I actually had a pro-abort tell me that the NC bill may lead to LACK OF PRE-NATAL CARE. Oh yes. She actually said that. Because pro-lifers are attacking ‘women’s health.’ I told her she had no idea what the pro-life movement is actually about. God, are these people stupid.

We had a twerp like him on a boat (submarine) I was in back in the 90’s. This twerp was an Ensign fresh from Sub School that thought he knew everything. He got so obnoxious that he was found in the Engineering spaces EB Greened to a stanchion

A carefully placed popcorn trail led the Old Man to him. The OM left him there figuring someone had good reason to EB green him.

        • mike_in_kosovo

I’m guessing EB green is the Navy version of 100mph tape?

          • bluewaternavy

Yup-but even better. I’ve patched hulls with that stuff

        • Lady 12

I have no idea what the last three sentences mean.

          • Horologium (fka Ron)

The “old man” is the captain of the submarine. A stanchion is a structural part of the boat (think like a column in a large room). EB green is industrial-strength duct tape, super-sticky, reinforced green stuff. The Air Force has something similar (probably the same stuff) which they call 100mph tape, because “it can withstand 100mph windspeed”. Does that make everything a bit clearer?

          • Lady 12

Not just clearer – funnier, too! :) Thanks.

Actually, Wil is a pretty neat guy… intelligent, funny, and fairly well grounded in what is right and wrong. That’s why his thoughtless comment stands out… it’s unusual behavior in a guy who is well known (amongst his fans, of which I am one) to be overtly nice and extremely open and accessible to the general public. While many celebrities cash in on their fame without allowing their fans to see more than a passing glance at the real person, Wil seems to be a real guy… and is actually HAPPY to talk to people, even when the crowds crush up against him at conventions.

    And they do.

So here’s an idea… instead of making the silly mistake of assigning a behavior or situation upon the guy… how about we address him personally? Let’s give him a chance to explain why this particular piece of Legislation is SO AWFUL that he would step out of his purposely crafted Rule of Life and act like a dick.

Yeah, he’ll be wrong… but then he’d have to defend his beliefs, not defend against High School level taunts. He may learn something… he is one of the Libs who is willing to think, so it’s a good bet. He might not become an advocate of the Right, but he can at least be exposed to the philosophies of the Right.

“We are not going to win any discussions by calling people names, or telling them to Shut UP.”

If Wheaton were interested in a discussion, he wouldn’t have thrown an arrogant, whiny and hypocritical fit. Nobody forced him to act like an intolerant jerk. He brought any insults he gets on himself.

And for my money, the problem isn’t that Wheaton told Walker to go f*** himself. A second doesn’t go by where someone doesn’t hurl an expletive at someone else on the Internet. You expect that. The reason why Wheaton gets special attention in this regard is nicely illustrated above. He claims to hate when people act like dicks, yet he does so when it suits him. In other words, Wheaton won’t hold himself to the standard he–by his own words–expects of everyone else. Typical Hollywood crap.

Explain to me how this legislation is so awful:
      1. Women are required to be shown an ultrasound of their child before it is killed, dismembered and sucked out of their womb.

      2. Abortion clinic doctors are required to maintain their Doctor’s licence and be affiliated with a hospital so that IF something go wrong, that woman can be admitted to the hospital and get this- The abortionist can face charges within the medical system for malpractice.

      3. Any child over the age of 20 weeks gestation gets to live and be born. No ‘pretending’ by dint of NOT doing an ultrasound that the child is younger. 20 weeks, by the way is FIVE MONTHS along for a pregnancy. If you can’t figure out to do in that length of time, just have the child and put it up for adoption.

Which one of these is so awful?

      • cjeam

Well all three of them have their downsides, as do most things. The one I’d have a serious objection to is number 1, because it’s a bizarre idea to force someone to see what something looks like, how human it is, and try to get them to bond with it, when they’re trying to kill it and have it juiced and sucked out of their womb.

    • BornLibre

It’s not unusual behavior. His timeline during the Chick-Fil-A days speaks for itself.

    • Christy000

      Because he’s on tv?

    • Christy000

      Because he’s on tv?

  • MisterIncredible

That twitchy crowd probably thinks they’re so smart, JUST BECAUSE they’re right!

  • Belinda Henry

    not sure who he is,sorry

  • Larry Rappaport

Wil Wheaton? Asked the family, granddaughters etc., who this guy is and none could be specific. Don’t know him, never seen him, next…..

    • Basset_Hound

He was Wesley Crusher in Star Trek – the Next Generation. He was a bright motivated kid when the series began, but got kicked out of Star Fleet Academy the show’s last season and became a real loser.

  • No Way

Thank you for standing up for your beliefs Wil…and for giving the little twitchers so much butthurt. :-)

  • American_by_Choice

Wesley… get off the bridge, you’re simply not bright enough.

    Report to the garbage deck.

Nice language from the guy who played the Richie Cunningham of the 24th Century.

Just don’t go off the deep end like other child stars.

    • American_by_Choice

      “Star”?

No, no… at best he was just another clump of doesn’t-matter, floating aimlessly in the dark cold vacuum of ignorance.

  • American_by_Choice

    Isn’t this precious?

Let’s examine Wesley’s reasoning for consistency:

FIRST: He imparts the emphatic sentiment: “Go fuck yourself, Scott Walker.”

Only to return a few days later to show off this pearl: “I have zero tolerance for people who are shitty to other people, on the Internet or in Life. Don’t Be A Dick.”

So, what’s wrong with Richard? What did he do to you?

  • Neely

Wow, so hostile! Guess Wil needs some attention for his barely-there career. Unless of course he’d like to run for office and let us women know about his vast knowledge about abortion! I’m waiting with bated breath!

  • Gregg Hammerquist

    Ew. He got ugly.

  • Mary Lee

I think he’s fun on The Big Bang Theory, but he’s one of the biggest celebrity jackasses on Twitter. He’s such a douchenozzle.

  • Barack Hussein Sharpton

    You’ve all been had.

    That’s not Will Weaton.

It’s Rachael Maddow with a prosthetic beard.

  • $25327935

Becomes a d**k? He has been for a long time.

  • David

Who is this guy Wheaton? I have never heard of him.

  • dagnytaggart

    And Will Wheaton is…???

  • ann_h

He actually can be a pretty good actor. Saw him in a really creepy episode of Criminal Minds a couple years ago, I think it was. And, hey, he’s Gordy from Stand by Me! LOL. Too bad he never stood a chance, though, growing up in Hollywood. Little hope of NOT going left when you spend that long there.
