Wow. What was it that ESPN did to get such a reaction from Rodgers?

What a mistake! Has ESPN recently hired some production people from MSNBC? We’re just curious.

Update: A brief video clip of what Rodgers was upset about:

  • Harbormaster

Rogers must really be pissed to be so… so… so curt!

Let me see, “Rogers” aaaand “Hernandez”.

I can see why ESPNmixed the names up.

    • Evi L. Bloggerlady

Well they both have the first name Aaron. Which of course is such a rare name.

This is not to downplay Aaron Rogers anger about this, he has a right to be upset with ESPN. It is terribly sloppy on ESPN’s part.

But at least Pats fans have a sense of humor about this whole mess…

      • Harbormaster

        Gosh I love da Packers!

And Aaron Rogers is a class act in my book.

  • Stephen K

Did someone tell ESPN that Aaron Rodgers is a member of the Tea Party?

    • Jeremy

Maybe MSNBC people are working with ESPN after all,Bathtub Boy a.k.a Keith Olbermann still has friends at ESPN.

      • Zane Henry

I knew a couple of people who interned at ESPN in the early-ish days, and they told me Olberman was absolutely detested by his colleagues. Once a jackass, always a jackass.

        • Jeremy

well that is good new then.I think it is very telling that Olbermann couldn’t even make it on Al Gore TV.

    • $4880059

No. They may have mentioned that he is a member of Occupy.

  • Jeremy

That is one goof up ESPN and certainly won’t be the last.

  • Steve_J

Anybody who gets news from ESPN deserves the misinformation they get.

    • Jeremy

Yeah it’s like getting your news from the Letterman show

      • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

        Or “The Daily Show”…Or Colbert….Or “The Onion News Network Edition”… You get the idea… Jawamax 8<{D}

        • Joe W.

          Or NBC, CBS, ABC………

  • Bemani Dog

Fox Sports 1 can’t come soon enough. Counting the days to August 17…

    • Jeremy

I am excited for it as well.

  • Oilfart1

ESPN is located very close to the home base of the Patriots. They may have really wanted to deflect.

@AaronRodgers12 funny, no. But I did correct myself, right then, which of course the clip does not include.— Jeremy Schaap (@JeremySchaap) June 27, 2013

    • Janice LEE

Oh, you corrected yourself. I am sure Rogers feels soo much better now.
ESPN lives down to it’s seedy reputation once again.

      • Stephen K

Aaron Rodgers calls out ESPN for tying him to the Hernandez murder case, the ESPN “reporter” responds with a snarky tweet, and the resident liberal applauds the “reporter.” Nothing surprising here.

        • Sons Thunder

I’m not applauding anyone. I included a tweet that Twitchy Staff chose to exclude. When I see an 11-second clip, I get suspicious. This isn’t a liberal/conservative issue – it’s a matter of shoddy journalism.

  • Janice LEE

ESPN was so overcome with the possibility that DOMA would be overturned that they made this simple little mistake of confusing Rogers with Hernandez.
Anyone could understand that little error.
Kind of like the NYPost printing a picture of a missing college student as the Boston Marathon bomber. Sadly, the young man was later found dead.
This is our media folks. Get used to incompetence and often outright lies and misrepresentations.

Everyone else is perfect. That is good to know.
