Actress Elizabeth Perkins says those follows are from the Westboro Baptist Church Twitter feed, but it’s actually from the separate feed of Fred Phelps (UPDATE: We’re told the Twitter account Perkins referenced is a fake and might not even be affiliated with the WBC).

Though we’re not sure why any of those wackos would follow Palin and Fox News on Twitter, Ms. Perkins should know that, before Twitter existed, Phelps followed somebody she may know and perhaps even admire:

Just sayin’.

Leftist Playbook Page 2: The 12 people from Westboro represent ALL of Christianity, but the daily suicide bombing missions by Muslims are all isolated incidents/workplace violence.

Just for the record, as repulsive as WBC may be, they’ve never blown up anybody.

    • ObamaFail

That’s a very good point. Libs will always say “you can’t persecute all muslims for the actions of a few.” But then they turn around and persecute all religious people of the other religions based off of the actions of a hate group disguised as a church in the WBC.

      • Bradley Dorrance

Autonomy of the local church is a key Baptist distinctive. There are all kinds of different Baptists, just as there are all kinds of Roman Catholics. The Westboro folks have no affiliation whatsoever with larger Baptist denominations – they are entirely independent.

    • Elaine

WBC is NOT officially affiliated with the Baptist Church. Most Baptist churches are black. Sometimes I really wonder about their true motives. They seem to be the kind of HATERS we find on the LEFT?

      • IBXNJ

Most Baptist churches have full autonomy, each one is an independent group

      • Chevypowered

        Truth.

      • TexSizzle

None of the Baptist churches I’ve ever been affiliated with have been black, though being in Texas, most have had a few black members and a sizable minority of Hispanics. None of them, nor anyone I knew in any of them, would have accepted anything the WBC cult claims to believe.

  • ObamaFail

That lib hag wants to judge Fox News by who watches their network. Well, the Boston Bomber was an Obama supporter. Should Obama be judged for that? The Aurora Shooter was an Occupy participant, and worked on Obama’s campaign. Should Obama be judged by that? Bill Ayers was a domestic terrorist, and Obama started his career out of Ayers home. Should Obama be judged by that? Chris Dorner, the cop killer, was a registered Democrat. Should all Dems be judged for that? Adam Lanza was a Democrat, and worked on Obama’s campaign. Should Obama be judged for that? According to Elizabeth Perkins, the actions of people you have no control over should be used against you. So by her stance, we should strongly judge Obama by the people who voted for him.

Hell, using her logic, if any child molesters out there support Obama, Obama condones child molestation.

Guilt by association fallacy. Bread and butter of leftist “tactics.”

      • Jay Stevens

Fallacy? You do not use the type of people that someone chooses to surround himself with to help form a judgment of that person?

Case in point: look at Obama with Bill Ayres (unrepentant terrorist) and Valerie Jarret (Chicago slumlord) to start with.

        • Zhenia Oleynik

You’re describing something totally different. The fallacy to which I refer is if, for instance, a white supremacist likes one of my blog posts, I am supposed to somehow be on board with his/her politics. In this context, to which my example is relevant, the WBC following Sarah Palin and Fox News on Twitter (mind you, a CHOICE they did not make) does not mean they are supporters of WBC at all. Therein lies the fallacy.

          • Jay Stevens

I see the difference you are talking about now, but your original post was not clear.

It’s a fact that Obama supports the murder of babies born alive after “botched” abortions. Does Perkins have a problem with that?

Why wouldn’t an organization that craves publicity follow a popular news service?

    • lildebrarae

And never mind that the founder and many of the members of WBC are registered democrats!

  • trixiewoobeans

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…there’s dumb, and then there’s Hollywood Dumb.

  • jhva99

If you look at the “Follow/Following” buttons next to the 5 Twitter accounts, only the button next to Fox News says “Following”. All the rest say “Follow” which means they are not being Followed at this time. The button, if clicked on, would allow you to follow that Twitter user. Duh!

    • TJ

The fake account follows the 5 but the blue follow button means that the person who is looking at the page follows that person as well. Elizabeth follows Fox News but not Sarah. There is no way to tell if they follow back.

  • TJ

Unless someone goes though all 128 people that Sarah follows it is a big
nothing burger. How many of the 926K that follow Sarah are not good
people, no doubt quite a few. Judging by who follows you when you have 926K people that follow you is the dumbest smear there could be.

    • Bristel

I’ve got about 2000 followers on Twitter, and I usually screen most of them. I don’t block liberals (well, usually unless they are whacko, same for conservatives) out of respect for dialogue, and I think the majority followers of mine that are liberals happen to be friends from outside of twittter who are bemused by my politics. I’m sure most of UniteBlue have an no-follow-cons policy. I’ve even showed up on a crazy person’s Do No Follow list from UniteBlue. Once it gets above a certain number of people, I’m sure it’s almost impossible to weed out the crazies. I find I have to block people on the left and right and even the center occasionally though. It just gets harder to do when you can’t read every tweet from 2000 people. I end up missing a lot of the crazy that goes on throughout the day. LOL

  • Bristel

God hates figs too, but I’ve seen Christians eating them, just sayin.

    • NRPax

Any branch of Christianity that tries to go after Fig Newtons will not exist long enough to regret the decision. Just saying…

    • $7610427

But God created figs…so how could he possibly hate them? I, personally, love figs! The world would be a very boring place without figs. Just sayin…

      • Bristel

How could you have parties without figs? They’re fabulous!

  • TocksNedlog

Poor Elizabeth. By this logic she’s assuming that everybody who’s following her on Twitter likes her.

  • Red Fred

Wow. Maybe Perkins could find a career as a private investigator. Why didn’t anyone else think of checking out WBC’s following list. Clever. Sharp as a marble.

  • John Rebori

Fred Phelps ran in primaries for local and statewide offices in Kansas as a Democrat. He lost. Just saying.

  • John Varner

    Perkins sounds like an ignoramus.

    • lildebrarae

      You’re being too kind …literally.

  • BorderLine Guy

And she’s following George Galloway. 14 deep on her follow list.

    • Frustrated Teacher

I consider him right down there with WBC. He is a true idiot…

  • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

    WestBurro Jackass Donkeys! And I don’t mean Dimwitocrats, they’re worse! #ChefGordonRamsey And Elizabeth, your HolyWeird Naivety is gonna lead you down the wrong road… #RightWard Jawamax 8<{D}

  • Nothing

I’ve been researching WBC for years & am currently writing a book on them. First off, you’re correct, that’s not their real accoubt& it is unaffiliated. Their real account is @WBCsays then there’s @PriestsRapeBoys @GodHatesTheMedia @GodHatesTheWorld & a few others … then there’s personal member accounts (@WBCShirl @WBCJon @WBCFredJr, etc) there are a lof of fakes but the real ones are easy to determine from their tweets (a notable lack of homoerotic & incestuous innuendo).
Secondly, the real WBC accounts do follow Fox news… along with Huffington Post, HuffpostGay, Associated Press, CNN & a number of other news & public figure twitters. That’s so they can keep up on the news & current issues being discussed. If they only followed those they agreed with, they’d just follow each othet & the Bible twitters!

(Disclaimer, I do not agree with or support WBC, I study them in an unbiased manner, but personally I dislike them)

    • JR48

The world shortest list would consist of people who like the WBC.

      • TheExecutiveProducer

And Al Gore would be on that list.

        • nicklinc

          And ur mom.

          • TheExecutiveProducer

Zing! You got me. Now finish your PBJ and go outside. It’s play time.

  • Gallatin

    lizzie perkins truly is stupid.

  • Steve_J

If they were following Gov. Palin wouldn’t the button to the right be blue and say “following”? Who is to say it’s the WBC anyway since she didn’t provide a screen shot with that information.

  • Jim Evans

Wasn’t she once a movie star and acted in the girl with a half brain?

  • $8203344

The ignorance is amazing, she supported Clinton and Obama of course.

  • Frustrated Teacher

I am surprised it hasn’t been said here yet, so I will be the first:
WHO is Elizabeth Perkins and why should I care what she thinks?

    • TheExecutiveProducer

She is an actress most notable for playing the love interest in Big with Tom Hanks.

I cannot answer the second part of your question.

      • Frustrated Teacher

I actually remember her from ‘Big’….but that is about all. The second part is probably the most important…
