On May 28, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio issued a call for charitable donations in lieu of birthday gifts/greetings:
Today is my 42nd birthday and I'm using it to help solve the water crisis with @charitywater http://t.co/5Mc2FWUYTa pic.twitter.com/M0nuufnyWP
— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) May 29, 2013
As of today, the donor count stands at 14, which seems to be an exceptionally low number given how much light is on Rubio these days. So, why did Rubio’s call for donations culminate in a participation level worthy of a Sandra Fluke rally?
A sampling of Twitter reaction might help explain the low number of donations: outright disgust and disappointment with Rubio’s position on immigration reform:

I'd be willing to send him a pocket constitution! He's forgotten a few things IMO.— Chuck [email protected] ✝ ن #CCOT #MAGA?? (@BledsoeChuck) May 30, 2013
