“Empire” actor and alleged hate crime victim Jussie Smollett slipped off the radar really quickly after those two Nigerian-born brothers who were caught on surveillance cameras buying rope, ski masks, and red caps started talking to the Chicago police.
But now Smollett’s attorney is talking, and he told CNN’s Anderson Cooper that his client is the victim of an unprecedented “media gang bang” and that it’s “startling” how many people think he staged the whole incident with the noose and the two perps yelling, “This is MAGA country!”
"What is happening here is, frankly, a media gang bang of this guy of unprecedented proportions," says Mark Geragos, Jussie Smollett's attorney, about his client's indictment on 16 felony counts, adding, "It's startling the way people assume he's guilty." https://t.co/c5V4BkyrGD pic.twitter.com/dbNwRJDu2D

Wow. If I had known our report was a gangbang, I would've brought something for the host. https://t.co/tvy1weMMud

"Gang bang"? Did he go to the Michael Avenatti School Of Law?

Pretty sure @JussieSmollett was looking for “a media gang bang”.

Doesn't compare to the gangbang that awaits.

He let the media “gang bang” Trump supporters without a smidgeon of guilt. I have no sympathy for him. If he’s stupid enough to let it go to trial, he deserves a long prison sentence.

It’s not good when your attorney looks like he just got off an all night bender.

Hiring Mark Geragos pretty much solidifies a person’s guilt.

He's guilty.

So…@markgeragos has no issue with the way that the blue checks (including several Democrats running for President) took his story at face value and ran with the narrative?

Geragos: "I've never seen a media pendulum swing more quickly and more viciously and rob somebody of their presumption of innocence… it's startling the way people assume he's guilty"
Brett Kavanaugh: "hold my beer"

Absolutely terrible interview by Anderson Cooper. He let his buddy Garagos filibuster for ten minutes spouting all kinds of inanities unrelated to what everyone knows Smollet did. Garagos' only move will be negotiating a plea deal to keep Smollet out of jail.
— Ted Davis (@tedsthetruth) March 9, 2019
I never heard him say his client was innocent
— John (@Tribs824) March 9, 2019
Yikes. Smollett’s legal team is not doing him any favors. This guy just rambles nonsense and doesn’t want to answer any tough questions about his client. @andersoncooper of course obliges and allows him ramble. This whole clip is a mess for a variety of reasons.

Geragos is spinning this with word play. He's playing the process, the case isn't at the phase for discovery, but he's claiming they haven't gotten any evidence. Shame on Cooper for not calling him out on that. The era of victimhood.

Jussie Smollett is guilty. He's throwing away money hiring Mark Geragos. pic.twitter.com/Vt7YlMCJog

Smollett will end up working at CNN. On camera, of course.

another high quality interview

The two brothers told police jussie orchestrated the hoax since he was unhappy with the money and they testified to that in front of the grand jury. There was no reason for Police to speak with Fox or Empire.
— John DePetro Show (@JohnDePetroshow) March 9, 2019
Maybe they don’t need to interview Empire people. Most likely they have all the evidence they need from his text messages. Geragos is an idiot and whybanyone would hire him to defend them is beyond me. This dude never wins.

Hilarious. Believe him or the brothers he hired.
