The U.S. Capitol was placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon following what a least one reporter says was a shooting near the Department of Labor.
Am told by a Capitol policeman that DC police are chasing someone around the Capitol grounds, hence the lockdown.

Far too many people with little to no knowledge of firearms like to call semi-automatic rifles “machine guns,” so there are plenty of skeptics out there.

Betting it was NOT a machine gun… But, narrative I guess…

Just wondering, what do you believe the term "machine gun" means?

All the folks here questioning this report should be ashamed. Of course it was a machine gun! The press doesn't just make sh** up.
— Dave – Boomer Bot (@Grumpy_Hoosier) July 12, 2016
If it was a machine gun, then it was illegally obtained. In all likelihood, this is just moronic media misunderstanding guns again

OK, smart guys. Police confirm that they recovered a MAC-11 subcompact machine pistol dropped in a tunnel during a getaway attempt. Really.
