#MillionsMarchNYC protesters managed to close down the Brooklyn Bridge in both directions earlier tonight, and now Blaze contributor and former New York police officer John Cardillo reports that demonstrators blocking traffic in the name of social justice managed to stand between a person with a severed leg and the hospital.

There must be some way to blame this tragedy on the police.

  • FreedomFighter

There has to be thousands of pictures coming from these protests. Identify everyone you can and file a lawsuit.

    • Coondawg

Start with the organizers and any VIP’s that were there to speak.

      • radicallyalyssa

Or the city of New York. Much easier, faster win.

    • Ms. Abigail van Beagle

Sharpton seems mighty eager to take credit for all this, maybe he wouldn’t mind taking the blame, too.

HA HA HA HA HA HA! Good one. A real knee slapper.
If he takes the blame for this, it’ll be the first time that he would take the blame for anything!

        • rennyangel2

Maybe de Blasio will step up and pay damages and pain, as he calls these “protester/agitatos” the “real democrats.”

          • Thale Taxurfeet

With taxpayer monies… Same as it ever was.

    • Other than Dien Bien Phu

I’m okay with running them over and then letting them deal with the ambulance response time.

    • ChuckFinley

Perhaps any lawyers can help with this question: Does Joint and Several Liability mean that any one individual who can be identified blocking the ambulance can be held responsible for the entire amount of damages to the man with the severed leg caused by the delay?

      • Wanderer

        In a word, yup.

It’s then on him to join the other protestors in the case or seek compensation for their part of the damages. The court’s more concerned with helping the harmed person than sorting out who among the guilty parties pays for it.

      • Ryan Schneider.

If I were the driver, I’d take the leg, get up on the roof, and wave it around to drive home the seriousness to the morons.

    • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

      BTW whatever happened to PeterP? I’m sure he could answer this, being an Attorney… And an infinitely wise conservative as well… Jawamax 8<{D}

  • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

“Yeah, who cares about some poor schlub who just lost his leg, and needs to be taken specifically to the trauma unit at Bellevue to be treated properly? Our protest is more important!”

EDIT to add: I dealt with this days ago, in another thread, what the mentality of these people is– and damned if I wasn’t right, and I’m damned sure not happy I am:

    • AT

That doesn’t even need a sarc tag, because that’s probably their precise thinking. Me-generation. The rebels without a coherent cause.

ESPECIALLY if dude without a leg to stand on is white.

      • ramthemdems

If white they will say he got what he had coming. This race BS has to stop. I can see the war coming if responsible people do not stand up and lead us toward one nation. Oh story people who are in the best position to effect change are the ones pushing the unrest and chaos.

        • Charles Hammond Jr

I hate to say it Ram… but if it’s a war they want it’s a war they’ll get.

Why? Cause they’re head strong. When did facts ever mean a thing to these folks.

They’ll get their race war… and they’ll get it good and hard. Problem is… they really don’t want what they’re looking for.

          • Tommy Maq

Oh, they want a fight. They just keep mistaking innocent bystanders for warriors.

When it’s truly on, their story will certainly change.

      • Thale Taxurfeet

“As we saw with the Rolling Stone, they don’t care about truth, only narrative.”

Been that way since at least the 60’s.

And that’s the way it is…

        • Tommy Maq

It’s been that way since Marx, c.1880.

          • Thale Taxurfeet

For the most part, the major media mouth-pieces were at one time, mostly loyal to the ideals of the Republic. Granted there were a few exceptions prior to the 60’s, the NYT’s Walter Duranty being the most famous/infamous…

          • Tommy Maq

I can see that, but by that time a decent number of academia had already been subverted by their desire to be ‘in’ on the ‘new idea’ about ‘remaking society, man!’ THAT sophomoric ambition has been at the heart for a long time. The entire progressive project (like Sanger and the other Eugenicists praising Hitler for his ‘purification’ efforts) has been about that goal since the beginning.

Such systemic deception really starts with hacking on the language – that’s the only way such ideologies can get consistent results while faking reality.

          • Ryan Schneider.

Some saw it early and tried to nip it in the bud. Read “Eugenics and Other Evils” by GK Chesterton.

          • Tommy Maq

Yes, I’ve heard of Chesterton. Hayek, Popper, Von Mises…

The Cassandra’s about the evils of Marx and Keynes are legion, but trying to convince politicians of something logical about history is like herding turds.

It was only a matter of time before a medical emergency happened. That’s exactly what my concern was, and I wondered why not even one person interviewing protestors asked, “What if someone has to get to the hospital?” I am so interested in how they’d defend themselves. Every damned one of those protestors should be fined $1,000.

    • Dean Bruckner

      • Jan

I stand corrected. $10,000 is much more fair & richly deserved. God, I hate those protestors, and it’s still going on all over the country.

        • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

          And, the Agitprop Organizers like Sharp-tongue should be fined $100,000, or the amount of the severed Leg victim’s Hospital bill, whichever is more… IMHO… Jawamax 8<{D}

        • Wanderer

They should do time and have criminal convictions on their records. Further, as they have demonstrated they are a risk to public safety, they should be held without bail until their trials, which in NYC I’m sure will be a bit of a wait.

    • Maryland_Malcontent

Most who would pay would just be giving taxpayer dollars back to the government, I fear 🙁

And the epidemic of black people being murdered on Chicago by criminals is ignored. The press covered violence by gangsters like Al Capone, but today kids being shot in a gang related drive by in Chicago gets mentioned with no real description of the perps. The world has gone insane, all lives should matter, but to Dems they don’t.

  • Michael Rice

Yet, they wonder why people are sick of them.

Remember, the witch hunt when another bridge got shut down. I am betting there won’t be one here.

But, alas, it is all okay because police murdered people of color. So, people who had nothing to do with that, who might even support the protest, must be punished.

These people have a collective IQ of about 5.

    • ramthemdems

Strong word murder.I’ll grant there are degrees of murder but I’m not sure in any of these cases the police officers started work that day planning to kill anyone let alone willfully murder someone. Still goes back to crime and resisting arrest. Just go to jail and sort it out later while you are still alive.

    • The Dragon

      5? You’re being generous.

      I used to live in Queens, Shemp… And at the time, the same issue regarding EMS Response times was heavy on the minds of New Yorkers, especially the politicians and those who would really need it (senior Citizens, etc.) but that’s all they did, talk about it with no action….eventually they settled on some kind of “deal” but it turned out even worse than it was previously… And these Agitprop Protesters aren’t making situations like these any better… Jawamax 8<{D}

On a side note, in this era of computerized trains, why haven’t they erect barriers between the tracks and the station platforms for subways, barriers with doors that would only open when the trains (which would align perfectly with them due to computerization) pulled their doors alongside?

    • Ms. Abigail van Beagle

You’d think that would already be in place, what with the socialized transportation system that Troll #36748 was telling us the virtues of the other night.

    • johnstretton

This is where quantity over quality matters. Eventually the ambulance would bog down. And we know rioters attack large vehicles en masse – ask Reginald Denny.

Of course in the USA, people will say, it’s different because we have guns. That depends really on where you live, and watching the way the GOP establishment is conniving with the Liberals lately and not caring if the voters are enraged, perhaps they are planning already to get the guns out of the hands of the people they are driving to distraction.

So stupid. How does shutting down traffic and endangering lives do a damn thing for the ’cause’. How did burning down Ferguson relate to Michael Brown? Why is shutting down Black Friday related to Ferguson? How is San Diego related to Ferguson?

These idiots are just too stupid to believe. The left has brainwashed a mob of morons so utterly destructive and useless that what they need most is a brutal wake up call. Arrest them. Charge them with whatever bad things happened as a result of their actions… arson, assault, murder, manslaughter… and then slap them with civil suits. Soak Al Sharpton and his merry band of criminal agitators with inciting riots, bring him upon charges, sue the living daylights out of him and the rest. Take them down with Lawfare. And when the media starts crying ‘racism’, go after them too for fraud because they are not reporting news, they are trying to create chaos.

These idiots feign holding the moral high road when in fact they are gutter scum.

Here’s a bit of advice… If I’m on the way to the hospital with an emergency, don’t stand in my way chanting stupid slogans. I’m getting to the hospital even if I have to put a few wannabe domestic terrorists there, too.

Aren’t these the same fauxtestors and general libprog tools who were all up in arms over #bridgegate last year?

I’ve been looking all over the internet for news reports about the man with the severed leg being blocked from Bellevue Hospital for treatment because of protestors. Zippo. Nada. All I could find was a forum for the NYFD saying the guy had to be taken to Kings County instead.

There were also no news media reports of the bag of hammers and masks found on fauxtestors on the bridge too or how fauxtestors assaulted two police lieutenants on the bridge, knocked them to the ground, kicked and punched them and tried to steal their radios.

This is one of the few times I would gladly approve the use of hosing the fauxtestors down with cold water and letting them freeze to death on the bridge.

What would be a worst-case scenario, and let us pray it will NEVER happen (and I mean that sincerely), is that some violent psycho, maybe even one thinking he’s down with the struggle or some such heinous motivation, decides to go all Columbine right as one of these block-a-thons is in full swing preventing access TO and FROM the scene, necessitating long detours and a concomitant delay in response time if the demonstrators are not forcibly cleared.

But you just know the Left and MSM would primarily focus on the gun angle of it if that ever happened– don’t you?

    • TarHeeled67

Sad to say, I’m surprised it hasn’t happened yet, considering the amount of loonies out there.

That it hasn’t happened yet would seem to go against their argument that there are racists and “haters” under every rock, so much so that they’re afraid to walk down the street unless in groups of a million, er, thousands.

Of course, I tend to doubt the perpetrator of such a heinous act would be a true Klan / skinhead racist, but rather some whackjob who hates everyone – or someone on their side that thinks more blood and violence is what’s needed to kick off the Revolution. As you say, the media would be all over the NRA and Tea Party, etc. no matter who was behind it.

I’d figure out how to tie taxes into all of it as well. Taxpayer money paying ALL of their salaries, and paying for the roads, etc.

Someone needs to stand up and put an end to all of this.

People can protest all they want. If you want to use the streets, then get a permit and have the cops direct detours.

Slimy, States in his foolish arrogant ignorance.. “Maybe cops shouldn’t necessitate large protests because they murder people of colour @johncardillo” The folks who say the cops shouldn’t have faced charges are the ones he should be addressing. Considering the resisting of arrest coupled with so many officers being dispatched to drop a dangerous seller of loose cigarettes, something bad was bound to happen. BTW , I don’t think the choke hold was more dangerous then having three officers sitting on the chest and rib-cage of the poor man wasn’t conducive to the death but I digress.

I would also reply, Cops kill people of colour all the time since we are all of different skin pigmentation who are breaking laws or resisting arrest. Believe it or not they are hired to use force if needed. The guy should never have been subject to such an arrest other then some Town Hall lunacy demanded Police waste their time & badges arresting a Capitalist who saw a means to make money selling loose cigarettes. The other factor is the police were exonerated so the beef shouldn’t be with the police but with the hierarchy who exonerated them & do so through the flippenn Mayor who is so worried about selling loose cigarettes. In no case should the anarchy which is taking place on these bridges be allowed. Not sure why my comment disappeared… just wanted to remind that Dr. Sowell predicted racial war and “hoped to not live to see it”. It evolves very quickly and is manipulated masterfully. Hello Saul Alinsky.

What if the victim with a severed leg is a black man? What’s a brainless protester to do then? Don’t #BlackLivesMatter?

  • reddarin

I wonder how many of these idiot protesters were outraged over the incessantly covered BridgeGate scandal that trapped that ambulance in traffic?

Instead of “hands up” gesture, CNN panel of enablers Robbins, Kohn, Hostin, & Hoover should be sent prosthetic legs to hold up.

    • Thale Taxurfeet

Heh, I thought about saying legs up… but with that bunch of panelists, the wrong idea could easily convey…

  • Hirogen

Excuse me?? These protestors have no business shutting down roads and blocking ambulances from hospitals!

If they want to do that, do it the legal way: wait until you become governor of New Jersey.

    • Harold Patterson

Even though the lie that the governor was involved has been disproved, you drag it out one last time. Troll.

    Just need the right tools.

Was train victim an Asian pushed by someone?

  • Knight64

NY needs to attach plows to the ambulances or put the cow catchers from old locomotives on them.
