Democrat political consultant David Axelrod shocked quite a few when he tweeted that the indictment of Republican Texas Gov. Rick Perry on abuse of power charges seemed “pretty sketchy.” Days later he’s saying he’s received “lots of unhappy emails” about the tweet, but he still has questions about the indictment.
I understand that if the DA had quit, as Perry demanded, the Governor would have had the authority to replace her. Correct? 2/4

Is the charge that Perry plotted to push her out so he could put his own person in and stifle ongoing corruption probes of his allies? 3/4

That's implied by those who objected to my Tweet and would be a lot more serious. But then why haven't the prosecutors said it? 4/4

Still sketchy.
.@davidaxelrod FWIW, several law professors (some liberal) agree w/you re: the Rick Perry indictment: http://t.co/midNOBoAZy

Respect that @DavidAxelrod is standing by his reasonable questioning of the Perry indictment. Not caving to pressure. #PerryIndicted

@davidaxelrod agree with your assessment, especially "sketchiness". We have to stop moving politics from the ballot box to the courtroom

@davidaxelrod Ignore your critics. We like it when people give an honest assessment of an indictment. Suggests a sliver of bipartisanship

@davidaxelrod …I'm amazed, to think there may actually be a politician that has common sense…

@davidaxelrod @jmartNYT You answered honestly. You have done that before and caught hell from your buds who always answer politically only.

I appreciate the original tweet from @davidaxelrod re @GovernorPerry and I still agree with his original tweet #IStandWithRickPerry
