Someone at MSNBC is having a tough time learning the states … again. Monday night it was “The Last Word” mixing up Virginia and North Carolina.

‘Time to change your map’: MSNBC graphic shows country that hasn’t existed for over 20 years

Whoops: MSNBC misplaces four out of four cities on map

NBC News apologizes for leaving New Hampshire off its map

  • FreedomRecon

    North Carolina/Virginia
What difference does it make? :/

    • GaryTheBrave

Its all flyover country anyway. If it ain’t NYC it ain’t worth knowing. /sarc

      • DG

        And California. You forgot California.

      • FreedomRecon

Until it’s a Presidential election year…then they know EXACTLY where that swing state is.

        • GaryTheBrave

They may not be able to spell it (Obama and “Oiho”) but, yeah, they know where it is located.

      • Thale Taxurfeet

“Its all flyover country anyway. If it ain’t NYC it ain’t worth knowing. /sarc”

Apparently you have seen the map they use as reference for locations other than NYC

        • GaryTheBrave

It is interesting to see how much (or little) the New Yorker cost in the year of the Bicentennial. I remember how everyone was seriously concerned about the economy and how prices rose at double-digit rates. I recall seeing economists stating that the U.S. was going to have to scrap the Dollar for a new currency because the value of the Dollar had been reduced significantly.

Today it is much worse than they could have imagined then.

          • Thale Taxurfeet

            Yup. The good old days.

    • mdtljt

Ahem…gianormous difference!! Yes, NC has RTP & its bedroom community Cary – Containment Area for Relocated Yankees – but that doesn’t hold a candle to NOVA…or even Charlottesville…trust me…

  • DG

There are 57 states, people! It’s hard to keep track of them all!

    • Right Wired ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

We’re going to Westsylvania in July!

      • TugboatPhil

        Is that near Maryware?

        • Right Wired ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Yep! We’re going right through it, next to Pennsyltucky.

  • DG

MSNBC thinks all states look alike. Racists!

  • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Find the outline of Virginia on the internet?
Done, by me, in well under 30 seconds.
Yes MSNBC, there IS a Virginia.

    • DG

Most progs today believe Virginia is the name of a Christian woman saving herself for marriage.

      • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

For that, we can thank Billy Joel, “Only the Good Die Young”.
(Have you ever seen Billy Joel and Mr Celine Dion together, though?)

      • TugboatPhil

I’m not sure that progs understand what virginity or marriage actually are.

        • LegalizeShemp

Virginity is before age 10 for liberals.

  • Iacobus

Poor elitist, “progressive” Kool-Aid Drinkers™ couldn’t find their own asses with a map.

    • Lois

You shouldn’t say that — they can find their asses fine. Where do you think they stick their heads??

  • DG

Someone really needs to check up on the interns from time to time. Seriously.

    • Apostic

Gotta wonder what their aptitude scores looked like.

It’s not MSNBC’s fault. I mean, they’re both right next to Oregon, right?

    • FreedomRecon

I thought they were both gulf states.

      • CrustyB

Gulf states? Like Iran and Iraq?

        • LegalizeShemp

Did you say golf? I’ll play! Sincerely, BHO

    “Close enough for news.” -MSNBC

  • Jon

If you stand on your head, North Carolina’s outline does look a lot like Virginia. Which may also explain why MSNBC show hosts and staff think the way they do….

  • Utopia Can Never be Achieved

I suspect MSNBC was discussing the resignation of a Democrat state senator in Virginia who resigned on Monday. He has a daughter who is a judge in Virginia and there’s a law that a judge can’t be related to an elected official in the state. He chose to resign so his daughter could get the judgeship for a 6-year term instead of just a temporary time period – which had been applied due to the ethics conflict.

Virginia still doesn’t have a signed budget from this last legislative session and will shut down at the end of June if one is not signed into place. The VA governor insists on expanding Medicaid in the state by 400,000 to the roles. He has tied this provision to the budget and is refusing to budge. Meanwhile, the state delegates have a GOP majority. With the resignation of the Democrat senator, the GOP has 20 members, and the Democrats have 19 members. This essentially ties the governor’s hands on the Medicaid expansion. There will be a special election to fill that senate seat and it’s likely to go to the GOP because the region where the seat is happens to be conservative as a majority.

I hope this happens. The U.S. and Virginia have been slapped in the face with Liberal politics. This minor victory – of kicking the Medicaid expansion to the curb, would give me some faith that the U.S. hasn’t gone full-Lib at this point in time.

    • Suzyqpie

Game Show Government, Vote for me, I’ll give you cash and prizes, is losing in Virginia, glad to hear it, tks for good news.

  • Charles Hargrave

If this doesn’t wake Comcast up to the fact that MSNBC is full of idiots and lyers then nothing will, nobody watches that network because of the constant lies,so Obama should move out of the Whitehouse and live at the MSNBC studios where he can spew his brand of hatrid for America 24 hours a day.

  • Ken Alan Draper

Next they’ll talk about Indiana while showing a graphic of Kentucky, & while talking about Florida show the island of cuba.

    • Blake Waymire

Florida, Cuba, at this point, what difference does it make?

    • TugboatPhil

Or the Asian island of Hawaii.

  • Chris Mears

I didn’t realize that many people watch MSNBC

  • EllisWyatt

They probably had Jay Bennish as their geography teacher.

  • HerodiousPeaskinner

Give ’em a break. At least the two places are close and that’s good enough for MSNBC.

  • bullet2354

As good as the MSNBC George Washington Battle Ground ‘Obama poll’ put up earlier this year =

    Unfavorable: 47%
    Unfavorable: 49%

    • Thale Taxurfeet

Heh… 4% were changing the bong water and unavailable for an unfavorable opinion.

  • Fire and Adjust!

WRONG!!! That is, in fact, South Virginia, one of Obama’s 7 extra states

    • unknown

Given how northern Virginia seems to control the rest of the state, perhaps it should split in two.

    • bullet2354

I have been to South Virginia – nice – warm – the people were nice too. 😉

  • arttie

They did get south of the Mason-Dixon and in the South-east quadrant of the US. Close only counts in atom bombs, horseshoes and now msnbc graphics.

    • Dan13

If they moved just one state south of NC they would be on the Gulf of Mexico.

  • Stephen L. Hall #NonquamTrump

Come one guys, you know that all red states look alike.

  • bicentennialguy

This is not the first time they’ve done this. How can anyone trust anything they say when they can’t even get maps correct? Meanwhile, I’m sure all the iPhone equipped 12-year-olds behind the scenes are looking at porn when they ought to be looking at maps.

  • Robert Smith

I am so proud of my 6th grader! She saw this error before I did! (she is home schooled)

  • mommyoffive

Not to be the one to point out the obvious, but I did get a chuckle out of one of the tweets pointing out the error.
“Craig Peters @[email protected] – Virginia / Medicaid expansion – please correct your graphic showing a stethoscope draped over map of … North Carolina”

That’s not a stethoscope, either. It’s a caduceus. If we’re going to point out the ineptness of someone, we should really be sure that we aren’t just as inept.

    • aint bee

      ineptitude (sorry)

      • mommyoffive

LOL! Point taken! I don’t usually do this, because as noted by you, I am not perfect. Thank you!

  • Dan13

Wow! All six viewers caught the mistake…!

    • yourmamatoo

Oh please! They only have 5 viewers😊

  • LegalizeShemp

Liberals aren’t good at geography, they’re good at Communism.

  • yourmamatoo

And there ya have it folks. The Obama voter, supporter crowd.

  • BigTBoom

The on screen caption is actually a dog whistle referring to msnbc’s ratings goal: how low can you go?

  • aint bee

north carolina, virginia, what difference does it make

  • Yeah Buddy

    It’s Caroginia, the 58th state!

  • rambler

Well …. it might look more like Virginia turned upside down and backwards…..

  • Jay Stevens

    Wayne Clark tweeted:
“Talking about healthcare in Virginia … but with a map of North Carolina. Teach your interns some geography.”

On second thought, don’t bother. We can use the comic relief.

  • interestedobserver2

All them redneck rubes south of the Mason-Dixon AND their states all look alike to enlightened MSNBC reporters….

  • old motorcycle enthusiast

But, how do you FEEL about your blunder MSNBC? As that is the only thing that matters.

  • Norm McDonald

And the fact that the MSLSD lunatics are dumb is a surprise? Hell, I’m not in the least surprised…….
