The Anthem Blue Cross public relations account is being inundated with complaints this week as people struggle to learn if their payments have been credited and their benefits started. While most agreed that the rollout of the federal website was a disaster, Covered California’s high enrollment was touted by some on the Left as evidence that Obamacare is working just fine.

Covered California this weekend extended its payment deadline to Jan. 15, but many people say they’ve already paid and have no proof that they’re covered.

We’re anxious to see if the #thisnewhealthcareblows hashtag takes off.

Brainless liberals certainly are a whiny bunch.

    • Kimihiro Watanuki

      Their tears make me happy.

      • BlahBlah

I’m unpacking my tiny violin as we speak.

    • Michelle ✓classified

A few of those folks in the tweets aren’t Liberals. In fact, one even has “Conservative Vet” in his bio. Willing to call him brainless and whiny?

      • Ryan Schneider.

I’m surprised there isn’t more bitter rhetoric directed at libs from for voting them into this situation, for dragging everyone down into elevator music hell with them.

  • Juan Pablo

    Good California deserves it

    • Kimihiro Watanuki

      Every bit of it.

    • Joe Joe

There are good Republicans in California who are also suffering.

      • Michelle ✓classified

Half this state is a mix of Republicans and Independents – they certainly don’t deserve this.

        • Ryan Schneider.

And yet somehow they can’t make a dent in the worst policy habits. The only hope is to out breed the liberals and home school, assuming the libs don’t outlaw it.

    • Michelle ✓classified

Naw, only the Democrats in California deserve it.

  • DaMonk

    Anybody surprised?

Next we can put the government in charge of grocery stores. What could possibly go wrong?

Fast forward to 2020: All we have on the shelves today is head-cheese. But we should get a new shipment any day now!

    • Cindy Waters Lynah

They already are…have you read the ingredient list on your favorite box of cereal lately…I bet some form of corn is in there pretty close to the top.

    • Ryan Schneider.

Buy N’ LARGE SUPER Store! All you need, and so much more! Brought to you buy our President and Supreme CEO.

    • TCDave

Head cheese and Solyent Green. Don’t forget the Solyent Green. It’s where liberal policies will take us if left unchecked.

  • Sakemoto

Boxer touting the huge Medical enrollment today on the Senate Floor. That’s a real win for Calif. Or maybe NOT.

  • jukin

All of this pain is self inflicted by the democrats, Pelosi, Reid, and Obama. This is not like a natural disaster. The democrats did this to us ON PURPOSE.

Think of all the wasted time, dollars, and effort that was done to our country, our people in the name of the democrat party and bigger government. As of now, three times the amount of people have lost their insurance versus those that have gained it by Obama Care and most of those are on medicaid.

The democrats and the democrats alone are responsible for the total destruction of health insurance and associated misery. Not one single republican voted for this monstrosity, NOT ONE. Just wait until the employer mandate that was illegally waived kicks in.

    • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

“Not one single Republican voted for this monstrosity. NOT ONE.”
Alhamdulillah! They can’t possibly be blamed for it, then!
      But they will be, anyway.

      • nc ✓s & balances

AND ALL the Dems voted FOR it.

        • Steve in Katy

Correction, all votes were Democrat’s. Bipartisan vote was against this mess.

  • brewerandpatriot

Now Nanzi Pelosi can honestly say she’s never spoken to someone that is happy with their health insurance.

I feel for these people, I really do. At least they havent been priced out of the market…yet.

    • BlahBlah

      • H50 ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Yep, I agree with both of you. We aint seen nothin yet.

Inter office emails are circulating Anthem BC CA as we speak: “It’s YOUR job to tell them they are SOL.” “No, it’s YOURS.” “No way, I got other deadlines.” “So do I.” “Who else can we find?”

  • Lafango

Between Dec 23 and Jan 3, I spent 3-4 hours every week DAY.
    ALWAYS put on hold.
When someone answered my call, it was only to transfer me to yet another department.
I am retired, so I could afford to be on hold indefinitely.
Imagine someone still in the workforce trying to deal with Government style bureaucracy at Anthem?

If Americans can’t remember this experience in November midterms, them they deserve to be scroowed.

All part of the plan to impose single payer.

    • Canadian in USA ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Yep…blame the “heartless insurance companies” and come to the “compassionate government”.

  • Zach Smith

“Just had to pay cash for an RX”

    Oh, the horror!

    • Michelle ✓classified

I would be upset too. That person paid for a product (insurance coverage) and doesn’t have that product. So yeah…”Oh, the horror!” when you pay for insurance that can’t get it’s act together and also have to pay full price cash for an Rx.

      • Zach Smith

People should get what they pay for, but this is part of why health insurance is so expensive, and part of why prescription drugs are so expensive. No one cares what anything costs, and have no incentive to shop around for lower prices because, “the insurance pays for it.”

        • Michelle ✓classified

Uh, thanks for the straw man argument.

          • Zach Smith

You disagree with the argument? You are good with the Obamacare prescription coverage mandates, then?

          • Michelle ✓classified

Um, the point of this entire post from Twitchy was to highlight folks who paid for insurance coverage but aren’t able to use it. Fascinating how you try to turn it into a discussion on the quality of that coverage. I don’t do straw mans.

          • Zach Smith

That would be straw men, right? I’m not sure what you think the straw man is.
I wasn’t aware that there was a rule about marching in lock-step with the point the Twitchy folks are trying to make.

          • Michelle ✓classified

            Oh. OK.

          • Ryan Schneider.

Unless you are playing “Calvin ball” you don’t bring a croquet mallet to a baseball field. So is your score Ogie or Bogey?

            Calvin: What’s the score?
Hobbes: I’m winning, ten million to six.
            Calvin: No it isn’t!
            Hobbes: Then YOU keep score.
(Sorry, way OT and pointless but I couldn’t resist. I loved that strip)

        • tops116 ✓Quipper

“No one cares what anything costs”

That’s Democrats’ thought process going into the midterms vis-à-vis Obamacare. But call me crazy, I suspect people will care what their premiums… especially because of that pesky mandate to buy and the fact that Obama knocked off 75% of Congressional Democrats’ healthcare bill.

        • Ryan Schneider.

You are half right, but only because the medical market is already a bewildering wilderness of technobable and FDA regulations. Trying to understand this market wisely is just too much for most folks, who literally take a leap of faith that their doctor and supporting professionals know what they are doing, and can be trusted. It’s the same reason most people don’t bother to seek second opinions. Who has the time? It’s also the same attitude that for decades have disinclined people to read the ingredient label on food. How many times must the bureaucrats hand us our hearts before we hand them their heads?

        • 4liberty

Why do they call it the affordable care act? It has nothing to do with affordable care-its about insurance which isn’t affordable any more either. THANKS 0bama!!

    • Kingofthehill

Wait till you have RX’s that are required to live and what you were used to previously paying $50-100 for is now closer to a grand. Yeah, it can be a horror especially when you are on 14 medications and you lose your good insurance and follow the law to get the shaft and being ignored to try and get the services you have paid for.

  • NickGranite

Barbara Boxer touting a compulsory enrollment? Is she reporting to dear leader how many they forced through the turnstiles today?

  • Brother bob

Hey look at the bright have free birth control!!! Thank you Obama, u blithering idiot.

    • Ryan Schneider.

…..said the liberal lemming on the way down to the loan sharks.

  • ceemack

    “But…but…Covered California is WORKING!!!”

  • Kingofthehill

CA here on the Anthem Blue plan and still have NO proof or ID number/card to give to pharmacy and am paying cash for RX’s. Cash RX price on one of my cancer meds in 2013 was $174 for a 30/day supply and on the 4th when I had to refill it it cost me $773. I had no choice but to deplete my savings to pay for this. Also my Dr’s in my town are not on the list and I only qualify for locations in Los Angele’s with the closest being in Burbank instead of 5 minutes from my house like before and have to get referrals and wait to get approval (if it even happens) for my oncologist, endocrinologist, Neurologist and Pain Management specialists so i think ive lost all my good DR’s that i have developed plans with to beat this and their great communication with each other. I don’t know how long I can keep paying cash out of pocket prices. All my RX’s last month cost me just under $500, this month im looking at a cash out of pocket of approx $3,000.

I feel as if im put on an isolated island to just die since nobody knows what is going on and can’t get answers from anybody. I truly hope Dem’s who voted for this idiot are hurting as much as I am since I voted against this!!!! I hate to hope for others to feel pain but im being killed here and i hope those who voted for their “God” are also being screwed.

    • ForTheRepublicOfDave

Welcome to Utopia, King. Your life is nothing but a drain on precious resources, so you must be allowed to die. It’s horrible, it’s sickening, it’s downright evil, I know. But hey, at least I can stay on my Mother’s plan for another 6 years.

  • Hoosierdaddy

Is the government liable the first time a person who paid a premium is denied coverage in a hospital and dies due to lack of proof of insurance. After all, they are mandating this process.

    • H50 ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

      No. Government has immunity.

      • Republicanvet

…and if they didn’t, they would blame the insurance company.

        • H50 ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

          They will do that anyway.

Its all politics now, governing and accountability went out the window long ago.

  • Republicanvet

All these people are directing their anger at the wrong people. After being on hold for 2 hours, or being hung up on several times, or having money taken from my bank account with nothing to show for it…I would be on the phone to Boxer, Feinstein, Piglosi or any other raving asshat on the left that said 404Care would be so great.

    • Marvin Nelson

Yep, the DimocRATs are counting on the little people raising HE double hockey sticks with Covered CA, not them. Wake up, people, and complain to your “representatives” in DC.

  • tops116 ✓Quipper

How many of these people thought Obamacare was a good idea? I just wanna know who I should be laughing at. 😉

  • Pam Doddridge

Bought Anthem coverage for my daughter and got her cards, she has been covered for less than a month and today I opened a letter from them dated 31 December 2013, saying her coverage is being cancelled because her plan doesn’t meet the ACA guidelines for 2014. This is madness.
