Emily Miller is a senior opinion editor at the Washington Times and author of “Emily Gets Her Gun,” so she’s continually defending Second Amendment rights. She didn’t waste much time today, though, defending herself against charges that guns are “bad and just plain awful.”

Boom! Miller this weekend is at the NRA Women’s Leadership Forum in Asheville, N.C., along with “Divider-in-Chief: The Fraud of Hope and Change” author Kate Obenshain.

the “PHENOM” is anything but phenomenal. Based on what I can see on his twitter profile, he is a follow-back whore with a deep-seated crush on Brianna Keilar (CNN’s Sr. White House Correspondent) and a penchant for akimbo “hang loose” hand signs…… and all of 33 followers to show for it. Also of note, he is doing a horrendous job of digging himself out of this hole he has dug for himself.

    • Ty in TX ✓ᵇᵒⁿᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Agreed. Guns are awesome, so awesome in fact that they can be used to protect women against their abusive husbands. So abusive that they even abuse their wives while pregnant with their children or after they’re born. But that’s mine and my mother’s story so maybe I’m biased.

      • opus6

        They are the “great equalizer”.

    • Billie Slash

I think he just misspelled “VENOM”.

      Excellent.

I totally agree with you there MJ.

And the irony eludes the Femocrats who believe that it is a woman’s right to determine what she does with her own body– perish the thought she might want to protect that body, courtesy of Messrs Smith & Wesson…

      • Ryan Johnson

No, the real irony is the democrats who think it was wrong for the Oklahoma teen widowed new mother to shoot an intruder with a shotgun, but out of their same mouth said that if the woman and her husband didn’t want the baby she was protecting, it would be her right to kill him.

No seriously, I really argued with somebody who said “so the moment somebody steps on your property, their life becomes worthless?” (what I’d actually said was forced entry into the house without permission = that’s your ass) And later, said it was absolutely ok to kill a child if a mistake was made during recreational sex.

        😐

        • Catchance

Sadly, the pro-abortion, anti-gun crowd aren’t open to any kind of logic. It’s like their brains are missing that part.

          • Ryan Johnson

It’s time for the logic Doctor to operate.

        • Bathing Suit Area

So it’s ok to use force to remove someone from your house, but not from your body?

          • John Rebori

It’s ok to use force on someone who has already used or threatened force illegally.

Not real complicated, when you threaten or ignore the protections of civil society accorded another, you render yourself outside them.

It is the original meaning of the word outlaw.

          • Ryan Johnson

When I saw this in my notifications I wanted to ignore your stupidity for once, but the opportunity to downvote you was just too tempting.

          • rickg62

Even you can’t be this stupid. Or maybe you can be.

          • alanstorm

I’ll make it easy for you: Whenever you feel like making a comment, just post the phrase “I’m still brain-dead!”.

The effect will be the same.

Seriously, can you not discern a difference in the two situations? Hint: Where is the volition in each one?

Get back to me if you ever figure it out.

    • ceemack

How’s that for reasoned debate on a Constitutional issue, huh? “Well, of course that Amendment should overturned. ‘Cause firearms are bad, and just plain awful. I mean, they’re borderline icky.”

  • LinTaylor ✓vitrified

There’s nothing sexier than a woman with the courage and ability to stand up for herself.

  • Jack Deth

    PHENOM tweets:

“why haven’t you acknowledge firearms are bad & just plain awful.”

    Because they aren’t?

Mr. Phenom must be unaware that Ms. Miller has written articles and a book that has won awards regarding her three year sojourn through the political mazes of DC to legally possess a firearm.

What an incredibly stupid question to ask, Mr. Phenom!!!

    • ObamaFail

I guess PHENOM is a phenomenal idiot.

It must be strange going through life scared of inanimate objects like guns. Some of these people must faint at the smell of cordite.

      Sweet!

    • porkchop6209

I’d bet your rifle has never once picked itself up, crawled outside and self ignited a round at an unsuspecting innocent?

      • The Masked Avatar

No, but it did, in conjunction with the Koch brothers, crash a certain government website related to health insurance. Yep, it’s that good.

    • Jack Deth

Too bad “Vera” has already been taken.

      Though, “Black Betty” works.

      (Quite awesome, by the way)

    • QWYS (Hydralisk of the Swarm)

.338 Lapau? Man, I seriously want one in that caliber. But every time I bring up another $5K rifle, before scope and other mods, she starts talking about me spend $5K worth of nights sleeping on the couch at Motel 6 rates.

      • The Masked Avatar

Nah, man. It’s a .308. Savage 10BA. Savage makes larger calibers of this model but like you said, the price really jumps and the ammo is more expensive as well.

        • QWYS (Hydralisk of the Swarm)

.308 is good caliber. The Army is once again considering to provide one 11B per squad a 7.63x51mm (7.62 NATO / .308) SDM (squad designated marksman). The 5.56 NATO just does not have the reach / power of the .308 Win.

          Nice weapon, grats.

      Bam-ba-lam.

    • Ken Alan Draper

Just don’t name it Vera, that ones already taken. LOL!

      • TheChuck321

        Firefly mention FTW!

    • bobbythebuilder

Nice rifle, I would suggest calling it ATT (reach out and touch someone).
BTW, be sure and keep your doors locked….according to liberals, your rifle may try to escape and shoot someone.

    • TheChuck321

So you’re rifle even has legs and hasn’t just walked off and shot somebody? lol

  • ObamaFail

    “Guns are just plain awful.”

They are inanimate objects that don’t do anything unless the person holding it does it. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people, using guns. But people can also kill people using knives, they kill people using blunt objects, drunk drivers kill people. Hell, people can even kill other people with their bare hands. Don’t blame the gun, blame the person.

Libs say, “you can kill someone with a gun, that’s why we should ban them!” Well, should we ban alcohol because of the people killed by drunk drivers? Should we ban all knives because of the people who have stabbed someone to death? Should we all have our hands and feet surgically removed because you can choke a man to death, or stomp a man to death? Should we ban cellphones because of the inconsiderate morons who have run people over because they couldn’t wait to text their friends? Think before you speak libs. Guns are not the problem. Banning guns won’t stop the violence, not when you are ignoring the real problem.

    • IBXNJ

If they really want to follow that logic one of the worst mass murder in US history did not use a firearm. Julio Gonzalez killed 87 people in 1990 at the Happy Land social club arson in the Bronx. All he needed was $1 worth of gasoline and a lighter.

    • GaryTheBrave

Guns are really just an assembly of springs and levers. Take all the non moving parts (barrel and stock) off a gun and that is all you have.

Anti-gunners are skeered of springs and levers. Fraidy cats.

    • TopCat_Texas

“should we ban alcohol” – we tried that already.

  • HanaFiveO

    Guns are just plain awful?
Let me think about this for a minute.
Home alone at night. Big mutant thug smashes in my back door.
    Do I;
    a) Dial 911, knowing that in my rural area, the average response time is 15 minutes for emergencies.
    b) pee my pants in the hope that it will be a turn off
    c) try and vomit on myself in the hopes that it will be a turnoff
    d) get big Bertha and blow his balls and pecker off in the hopes that it will be a turn off.
    e) a&d

Now, which one did I pick?

    • rssllue

I am going to guess E but in reverse order. 😉 Well played!

      • HanaFiveO

        We have winners!
        Just a thought…
I put A first b/c when you call 911, put the phone down and go get Bertha, the line remains open and is recorded especially with long responce times. That tape is the best witness you can have. Narrate the event.

Who are you? What do you want? Put down that knife! Dont come any closer! scream, boom.
        Been there, done that.

        • rssllue

Good point. I revise my answer!

    • Bgoulette

E), A&D, though hopefully in the opposite order 😉

    • TheChuck321

I’ve been carrying a gun for a long time, but I think if I had to shoot someone, some level of answer B is going to come out sooner or later… lol

    Snippet:

But the truth is he desperately needs Taniqua Hall, just like he
needs as many Columbines and Santees as can be mustered, until they
spell an end to the Second Amendment. And not for the benefit of the
masses, but for the benefit of his self-esteem. He often
accuses men with guns of “compensating for something.” The truth is
quite the reverse. After all, how is he supposed to feel knowing there
are men out there who aren’t intimidated by the big bad inanimate
villain? How is he to feel in the face of adolescent boys who have used
the family gun effectively in defending the family from an armed
intruder? So if he can’t touch a gun, he doesn’t want other men to be
able to either. And to achieve his ends, he’ll use the only weapon he
knows how to manipulate: the law

  • JustChuck57

Next time you’re confronted with a violent criminal, call an archer.

  • TwoEyed Jack

This is what happens when liberals are in charge of gun laws.

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/oct/23/miller-dc-businessman-faces-two-years-jail-unregis/?page=2

Cliff notes: Man had a misfired shotgun shell and an empty rifle casing in his house, 30 militarized cops show up, break down the door to the bathroom and pull one of his kids out of the shower, whole family held at gunpoint, $10K damage done to the house. They want to put him in jail for two years. This is insane. *Never* vote for liberals of you want to keep your liberty.
