As Twitchy reported yesterday, Texas Rep. Steve Stockman’s interns were reportedly barred from bringing photos of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods to the the Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on Benghazi. There was apparently no problem bringing photos of the “faces of hunger” — not to mention a steak, a bottle of vodka and caviar — to the House floor today as props in the fight over the Farm Bill.

That bill, which passed the House today 217 to 210, would cut $40 billion from the food stamp program over the next 10 years. That, of course, led to charges that Republicans were trying to starve women and children and veterans. For good measure, Democrats brought photos of some of those women and children as examples of the “face of hunger.”

Not everyone was lovin’ it.

Rep. Jackie Speier noted that, while Democrats are taking the SNAP Challenge and eating on pennies a meal, some Republicans are traveling abroad on official business, eating steak and drinking vodka. She didn’t mention any of President Obama’s lavish vacations, but she did bring a plate of steak and a jar of caviar as props. (We wonder if she submitted an expense report for those.)

As long as we’re talking about taking food out of the mouths of women and children, it’s worth nothing that the Democrat-controlled Senate’s version of the Farm Bill, passed in June, would also cut the SNAP program, by about $400 million a year.

They see a cut to the program as a cut to their power. And power is what they really care about.

    • Elaine

I am sick of standing in line at the store & watching these leeches pay for all the good stuff I cut back on & they still find their OWN cash for liquor & cigarettes or anything else that the EBT won’t cover. They have gold jewelry, tattoos, really nice clothes, all kinds of electronic device & phones I can’t afford! What really gets me is when they walk out to the parking lot & they have a really nice car! In a lot of cases, this in NOT about “need.” I think we are all for feeding anyone who is actually hungry. There are tons of food pantries and soup kitchens for that! Something has to give. It’s a joke now.

      • Seabee

I used to donate to our church food pantry. I don’t do it anymore when I saw them stuffing cartfull of food stuff in their Lexus, Escalades and BMWs.

        • TugboatPhil

That’s how it works. Food pantries are for food. SNAP and EBT are for cash for drugs and booze. And this is to subsidize the non-IRS reportable income generating activities.

          • Seabee

….and for tattoos, lottos oh yeah and in some cases in casinos.

          • walterc

And until recently, strip clubs including lap dances.

          • Seabee

This old sailor wants to know if those pole and lap dancers are equipted with card readers…. er… nevermind….

    • right_on

I think they view programs as opportunities to enrich themselves, and reward friends. Having the power is a perk they care NOT to share with those that would actually use it for the good of the people.

Dem. mantra #2- “Never let a potential ‘cash cow’ go to waste.”

Dem. mantra #3- “Never let an opportunity to cover up your intentions, by lying about them, pass you by.”

  • Richard J Sunkle

Does no one care about the poor starving MLB players?

  • Jack Deth

Very odd. And more than a bit dictatorial.

Democrats can show “faces of hunger” ala hundreds of Sally Struthers 3am, “give me your money” commercials.

Yet Republicans cannot show photos of those killed in Benghazi.

We do live in interesting times.

Or it’s just another day that ends in “Y”.

I think they should force all people on EBT to provide monthly itemized statements.

    • ObamaFail

You are using facts and logic, and that hurts the Democrats feelings.

they look like cheap home done or jail done tats

      • Damien Johnson

Likely, but it’s still wasted money for somebody apparently poor.

  • JanArrah

Millionaire Democrat complains about not having enough money for food stamps, but never offers to take a pay cut themselves. I love their open hypocrisy.

    • vetgal1970

I wonder how much they spent printing up all the posters and assembling the materials for their little show today?

    • ObamaFail

In fact, the Dems jump for joy every time the topic of their pay raise comes up. I remember the Dems vilifying Republicans for trying to stop Congress from getting a pay raise while millions of Americans are getting their hours slashed thanks to Mr. Gotta Help Them Rich People Barack Obama’s policies.

    • idalily

And have no problem with a president who takes his vacations at Martha’s Vineyard. I wonder how many children that week at Martha’s Vineyard could have fed?

  • Magnifico

Perfect opportunity for MO to feed food stamp recipients that same crap she makes fat kids eat. Cut out the booze, lottery tickets, and cigarettes while you’re at it.

  • FreedomFighter

Why are the majority of poor democrats??

    • Bathing Suit Area

Because the republican philosophy is that the poor are all terrible people who deserve to starve.

      • ObamaFail

Bull crap. Obama has given us the highest levels of poverty in 50 years, and the only people doing well under his economic policies are the rich. If anyone hates the poor, it’s Democrats. They hate us so much they want to keep us poor and don’t want us to ever do any better in life than drawing food stamps and welfare.

      • journogal

Can you provide credible proof to back this up? I want to see a statement by a Republican that says that “poor are all terrible people who deserve to starve.” I want to see a quote like this or similar to it, since you said this is their philosophy. Credible proof, that is.

Why do you think Democrats care? (Not the role of the government to care about you, it’s called personal responsibility. The government isn’t to feed, clothe and house you. No where in that very, old horrible document of negative liberties, called the Constitution, does it say government role is to do such. There should be temporary safety nets, not safety hammocks that are 3 or 4th generation.) They only care to keep the poor poor. Do you realize how many one percenters are Democrats? But that’s, okay, right, because they are Democrats. Isn’t it funny how Democrat policies has never led to less people on hand outs? Wonder why…

You do realize at the rate we are going, we are all going to be on dole. Then what happens? The really rich (those evil hated people and Democrats) are gone, because they can mobilize easier, so where will the money come from? Obama’s stash? Don’t think so…

        • Bathing Suit Area

Read the comments thread of ANY twitchy article about the minimum wage, welfare, food stamps, income inequality if you think I’m wrong.

          • journogal

Proof from a Republican in office somewhere, anywhere. I don’t care what people on Twitchy say.
By the way, minimum wage is set by the free market and those jobs are not supposed to be career jobs. I do not feel sorry for people who thought school was a waste of time and don’t want to better themselves. It is called personal responsibility.
There will always be income inequality – someone is always going to make more than someone else, That sounds like wealth envy. Get over it. This is life, and government can’t legislate fairness. They can even the playing field by making us all miserable.
People are responsible for themselves and where they are in life. Not their employer or Republicans or whoever else you currently hate. No one controls them or makes decisions for them. Actions have consequences. Everyone has had hard times, no one gets away from that. Everyone has struggle, no one gets away from that, either. It is life. You don’t want to better yourself, well, that’s a decision you’ve made. No one pushed you in that direction.
There are people who need TEMPORARY assistance, and that is what it should be. There are people too dependent on government for EVERYTHING and expects government to be the savior. That is frightening…the government has no money.

          • Bathing Suit Area

That’s sounding a lot like poor people choose to be poor, so they deserve it.

          • plumberskid

            You can’t handle the truth….

          • Elaine

You’re a nut. No one here wants anyone to STARVE. Many of the so called POOR in this country are just plain leeches looking for any freebies they can get!

          • felicityva

It’s not the government’s responsibility to see to it that you have a good life. It’s called personal responsibility and you should have been taught that. My guess is you are second or third generation ‘victim’.

          • Phyllis Schmulbach

some do when they do not get an education and now with the president we have now, you do not even have to be uneducated to have to take any job you can find to support your family. Get your head out of you a** and actually find something to post about that you have proof of

          • Elaine

You ARE wrong. There is nothing wrong with trying to FIX a broken system. Work hard, try your best and if you need short term help, the TAX PAYERS are there for you. Otherwise, you deserve none of our hard earned wages!

          • Phyllis Schmulbach

If the minimum wage is raised to 15 an hour, the economy would really tank. You raise the wage to that much, then prices will skyrocket, people will lose jobs, then we have even more on welfare. Think about it, say, Burger King pays $15 dollars an hour, do you think they could do that on the prices they charge now? NO, so they raise the prices, people won’t be able to eat there, so then they do not need as many employees, right? Not to mention all the other minimum wage jobs there are now. stupid people are the wanting the wages raised

      • felicityva

I feel sorry for you. You really are that stupid, and my guess is you are one of those low-info voters who does exactly as he’s told and votes for Santa Clause because you don’t want to give up your ‘gimmees’.

      • walterc

Can you name one instance in the history of the world where cradle to grave socialsim has worked? Soviet, Cuba, Venezuela, China, North Korea etc etc. All have millions of people starving and no middle class. Well, China and Russia now that they have embraced capitalism.

      • Jerry Camp

        Ok, prove it.
        Link or slink.

      • MrSnuggles2k2

IF the number one reason for food stamps is to feed hungry people, then let us weight test everyone on food stamps and make sure they can only get fruits, veggies, and lean meat. No soda, no chips, no cigarettes, no candy, no koolaid. just basic, healthy foods.

surely you will have no objection to this, right?

do these simple things and watch the food stamp rolls deteriorate at historic rates.

  • AZWarrior

But what about the young women in line behind me at the grocery store yesterday.

They were buying V8 juice, Bloody Mary mix, limes, pre-cut celery sticks, Lea & Perrin’s Worcestershire sauce, imported Spanish olives. With their EBT card.

They may have to cut back on their Bloody Marys and such!

I wanted to say, “Oh, if only the Liquor Store accepted EBT, you’d be all set.”

    • Otter2

The liquor stores in Seattle accept EBT. So do strip clubs and casinos. Washington State is not alone.

I like bloody marys, and I pay for them myself.

      • Elaine

It pisses me off that they abuse they abuse the system and no one calls them out! Think of all the money we could save and still give more to those who actually need it, like the elderly!

  • Republicanvet

Veterans and military families? Gee Nancy, why are they on food stamps? Could it be because you leftists have ignored veterans service connection claims problems at the VA or military pay raises?

    • Phyllis Schmulbach

when my son was in the Navy, his family qualified for food stamps. He had a wife and 2 children.

  • OrganicGirl

Scum of the earth….with no shame.

  • Republicanvet

Nice. There are more leftists lined up to whine about cutting food stamps than there were present to listen to the surviving families of those killed in Benghazi.

  • Kawaei

so according to the California hag everyone is on food stamps

  • WhoDat

For every person that abuses the system, there are thousands who need it.

      • ObamaFail

Yeah, WhoDat might scare you away Bathing Suit Area. We all know how much you despise facts.

      • journogal

No one is saying that assistance is never needed. However, it shouldn’t be a safety hammock. People shouldn’t aspire to be on handouts. There shouldn’t be third or fourth generations on welfare.

This is futile, anyway; you refuse to open your eyes. You don’t care – you hate us all anyway. I am not sure why you are here, because you aren’t interested in other opinions.

      • felicityva

Welfare was never meant to be a career choice.

        • idalily

Yeah, what generation of welfare are we on now? Six? Seven?

    • ObamaFail

Yes, that may be true. But the fact is that democrats don’t want the fraud to be brought under control. They’d rather prevent anything that cuts any spending just so they can vilify Republicans. Don’t you think the fraud needs to be addressed? If they made everyone on food stamps go to their local office and prove they still need the help, than the only people still on food stamps are those who really need it. I’m sorry, I’m making too much sense, and I know how much that hurts you liberals.

      • Bathing Suit Area

The fraud is not as big as you think it is. Some does exist, and should be investigated, but straight up cutting forty billion dollars from the project will hurt more people who are genuinely in need than the total number who are gaming the system. You guys are hurting many innocents and using anger at one lazy surfer to try to justify it.

        • journogal

There is too much dependency on government. How in the world did we make this far with government in every part of our life. You don’t think charities can step in and fill the void, they use to, before sugar-daddy Uncle Sam promised everything. What about the communities? Are people so uncharitable?

We are quickly becoming a nation of when something goes wrong, we run to the government for a fix. This country has no money, and even if they confiscated everything from those horrible, evil, putrid rich (except for rich Democrats, of course, they are excused and worshipped), there still wouldn’t be enough money.

        • plumberskid

You, sir, are in denial. There are mountains of cases of fraud. There are also thousands of cases of people who are out of work because they choose to be. I know this because these folks are so dumb that they actually tell me with with their own lips. “I CAN’T get a job because if I do, I”ll lose my monthly check and food stamps and I’ll have to pay for all of this myself.” If I had a nickel for every time I’ve been told that by some 20 year old with 3 kids hanging off of their ankles, I could have retired rich at the age of 40, instead of working non-stop, probably until I take my last breath, and all to support these slackers.

        • Jerry Camp

“The fraud is not as big as you think it is. ”
          Source, please…
And for the record, just throwing out ‘$40 billion’ (which is over multiple years, by the way) doesn’t really mean much unless you include totals.

    • journogal

Need to target why they need it. Assistance should be temporary, not decades. You see, for everyone who abuses the system that also means it prevents someone who needs to from getting it.

No one is against assistance, the majority are against it be for generations. People shouldn’t be dependent on it. What is going to happen when the taxpayers run out and evil rich people are gone? Where is it going to come from?

      • WhoDat

Why cut it across the board instead of investigating those who abuse it?

        • journogal

Haven’t they called for investigations, but it never goes anywhere. It is like every other damn problem in D.C.

Why are more and more people be added on? How can we afford this? That is the biggie. The government has no money, and taxing the hell out of everyone is going to do anything. No one is going to starve, that isn’t going to happen. Something has to be done, but, hey, it’s only taxpayer money, so who really cares, right? One big joke after another…

          • Bathing Suit Area

The investigations “go nowhere” because you’re expecting them to find billions of dollars in fraud that doesn’t exist. Most of the money spent is being used correctly.

          • journogal

It’s taxpayer money. This isn’t the government’s money. There should safeguards in place.

          • Jerry Camp

They go nowhere because democrats, by default, turn any investigation of fraud or discussion of reforms into a ‘GOP attack on the poor’. In the same way, they attempt to deflect criticisms of the current president by throwing ‘racist’ at anyone who doesn’t genuflect towards Obama.

          • idalily

OMG, I think you seriously believe this.

          • Bathing Suit Area

And the reason more and more people are being added on is because most of the country’s wealth is going to the few at the top. You know, the ones we aren’t allowed to tax, or ask them to pay their employees enough to live on (which would you know, mean those employees wouldn’t need food stamps anymore).

          • journogal

Minimum wage is determine by the evil free market. I get it, it’s the businesses’ fault that employers don’t want to improve their lives. Minimum wage jobs aren’t meant as careers. It is always someone else’s fault.
And as for those evil wealthy people, might want to take a look at your loving and caring Democrats, because many of them are donors.

          • MrSnuggles2k2

So you are opposed to immigration reform then, correct? the CBO states that it will depress wages for at least 15 years, making is EASIER for those evil businesses to refuse to pay their employees a living wag

    • Electradivine

    • plumberskid

You’ve got that backward. And I can vouch for that because I lived among the slackers for many years. They were the ones who laughed at me as I slogged to the bus stop on my way to work, while they hung out on their porches with their 40 ounces of Colt 45 and their weed, and spent their afternoons watching their “stories” instead of their numerous kids. And I can also tell you that, between their food stamps and other welfare goodies, they’re taking home far more than I do at the full time and part time jobs that I work.

    • WisconsinPatriot

For every person that needs the system, there are thousands who abuse it.

    • MarcusFenix

If even 2% of the people on welfare were doing so fraudulently, you’re still talking somewhere in the 10 billion dollar neighborhood of costs. It’s not a cheap piece of fraud.

Second, what is wrong with asking people to make attempts to find employment or take care of themselves?

The “S” in SNAP, as someone pointed out above, stands for “Supplemental”. It’s not designed to be a full ride…a supplement is just that.

Let’s also throw in one more base fact: We basically are borrowing every dime of the cost for welfare, SNAP, and programs just like it. Not only is there the cost of the program, but the interest generated on the funds borrowed to pay for such programs. Again, not cheap.

I am all for helping people who need assistance. I am also all for the idea of people being able to take care of themselves and be productive members of society. Welfare and programs like it were meant to be temporary measures of assistance….not the mainstay of multiple generations on the government’s dime.

    • j p

I think your math is a little off. There was a time after my first son was born that we qualified for assistance from the WIC program. I felt embarrassed getting the food items on the short list of what we were allowed to buy, thinking that I wasn’t hard up enough to be getting free stuff. I suppose that a large number of those on assistance now imagine the face of a rich white guy when they think of who is buying them their free lunch and feel no shame. Class and race divisions of “us and them” only help to promote the corruption in the system.

    • Jerry Camp

“You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”

  • vetgal1970

Do they think that those of us who pay for us AND them aren’t hungry? Just because we don’t run for the benefits when the going gets tough doesn’t mean it’s not tough.

Yes, that’s right, we want the elderly and the little kids to starve. None of has ever had hard times and we just don’t care to help our neighbor..Blah blah….

I didn’t notice, did they happen to hold up a photo of that surfer guy and proclaim him as a face of hunger? Because that able bodied individual really IS taking food from MY kids. So cry me a river, clean up the slop in the program. I have NO problem helping people who are having hard times. I do have a problem subsidizing a single person who CAN work but chooses not to. I do have a problem with the people who run in with the idea to get all they can for as long as they can, instead of asking only for what they need to get through the rough patch. It is extremely inconsiderate of the people who are trying to hang on as long as possible.

  • Diane Stephan

Wait……hasn’t this administration been saying we as a Nation we are too fat? #foodstampcuts Problem solved.

    • Jerry Camp

We gotta be the first nation in history with fat poor people…

  • The Penguin (Happy Hanukkah)

Yeah…these people are hungry under the current program. Which is wrought with fraud and corruption. Maybe…just maybe mind you, those who are dolling out our money should make sure the one’s who are actually in need of help are getting it and not the lazy deadbeats that are taking advantage. Always a “paint brush” approach with these f*cking libs. Instead of putting in the work, throw more tax dollars at it.

  • Unicorns and Rainbows

Maybe the libs should try to make welfare a way to get back on your feet, which is what it was supposed to be, instead of PROMOTING IT AS A GODDAMN LIFE-STYLE!
    Just a thought.

  • 3am

Why are there more hungry people in America today than when Hoover was in office if Obamas plan was of any good!?! Snap!!!

  • Jeremy

Democrats are the Food Stamp Party.

I remember this stupidity from Pelosi…

  • Kathleen

I have conflicting feelings about these food stamp cuts. I agree that the system needs an overhaul to prevent fraud, and I agree that government dependency exacerbates the problem. Things like food stamps and social security were meant to be a means to get you back on your feet, not as a means of income.

The thing I’m questioning, though, is the timing. I think some laws need to be changed before the food stamp cuts happen. For example, defund Obamacare, so that people will stop losing their jobs before cutting food stamps. Lower taxes and government spending before cutting food stamps. I’m sure there are enough honest people on food stamps who are clearly down on their luck, and I don’t think they deserve to be punished because of the frauds. It’s pretty unrealistic to tell people to “just find work” when the jobs keep disappearing right now.

I acknowledge that food stamps SHOULD be cut at some point, but I just don’t know if now is the right timing, especially with all of the other government programs and laws that are making everyone lose more money.

  • $1018716

You can bet that there are some wealthy Dems getting richer on this SNAP program. They don’t really care if people starve. If they do then they’ll cut $40 billion in corners to continue to ensure people are fed.

  • Sydneyck

Why don’t the Republicans show pictures of the lavish vacations taken by the obama’s in the last 5 years and point out how much money they have spent that could have been used for Michelle’s so-called “worthwhile causes” against hunger! Let them pay for all those druggies and lazy people that refuse to work! I’m sick of all this hand-out crap! Aren’t you?

    • vetgal1970

Why don’t they show pictures of the families of the people paying the taxes. That family where both parents are working their butts off and trying to feed and educate their own kids even as the cost of everything is being driven higher and regulations make everything harder to reach. If they really wanted to help the middle class up the ladder, they would get the boot out of their faces.

      • QueenB

They can start with a pic of my family.

  • felicityva

It wasn’t Republicans that cut military pay, and took away one hot meal from them each day. And I challenge every Democrat out there to go to Walmart and see what EBT cards are paying for…I can’t afford to eat that well. And people using EBT cards do not exactly look like they’re starving.

    • Elaine

I agree! I bet they can not prove ONE child’s death in this country due to starvation. (unless the parents were sick and did it to them.)

  • Pedro

Sorry. I’m not buying it. One look at Mobama’s perfect nails, expensive bracelet, self satisfied smirk, expensive gown. This is the old system where A and B get together and decide to tax C and give it to D in exchange for their vote. The Obama’s just sit off to the side and take their percentage.

  • andso

Isn’t the “S” in SNAP for Supplemental? It’s not supposed to be the sole source of food for a family.

  • BamaMoon

Is she going to give those steaks and caviar and vodka to some snap user after using it as props? Just wondering……

That was her lunch. Conveniently, she left the bottle of single-malt in her office cause she thought it might make her look haughty..

And what was even more telling is them using Vets and their families in their debate. Ummm, why on earth would our vets and their families EVER NEED snap? They SHOULD be the LAST people to need it? But this prez has made sure that they do…..smh.

  • Dave

Yes, I’m really concerned about cutting food stamps to all those “starving illegal aliens” who have destroyed the very purpose of this program.

  • Sandra Vaughn

I wonder if million $ vacs and $100k party bashes of the WH…both sides…has could maybe help stem the hunger of some of those very “hungry” people. DUH!!!

  • RosiesSeeingRed

I didn’t read through all of the comments here, so maybe this was brought up, but does it bother anyone that no photos of the 4 victims of Benghazi were allowed in the hearing yesterday, but these hypocrites were allowed to bring in photos of alleged “victims” of hunger?

And as an aside, when I first saw this story on the news last night and caught a glimpse of them, I thought, how stupid can you possibly be to be showing the faces of overweight people when you’re trying to stir up pity for the “hungry.”

    Epic Fail.

Not to mention the despicable mass walkout by the democrats who refused to listen to the testimony of the murdered American’s families.

  • jakeandlizzie

I remember when I worked in the Food Stamp program and they gave coupons that were only used for food..not wine, videos etc. Yes there is waste and fraud in the Food Stamp program. However, this government waste goes from the riches to the poorest. Republicans and Democrats waste money with the perks they get. We have the rich getting exemptions that should stop. We have business getting tax payer money that is unnecessary and waste. Let’s pick on the real problem our government leaders in both parties. We need a federal government that administers under the Constitution as it was written.. It has been ignored by both parties for decades and has brought us to this time when we are loosing liberties. I don’t for a minute believe we will ever see the country move to being a constitutional republic because the progressive and the corruption is now in all three branches of government.

  • iVillageIdiot

The faces of hunger about which I care most are my own children’s. Since the FLOTUS’s school lunch requirements have been implemented, they come home ravenous every day. Apparently, the mix of tiny portions and inedible, but oh so ‘healthy’, selections doesn’t work for my kids. This despite the fact that my costs for those lunches have doubled due largely to my kids’ purchases of ‘extras’ to try to fill their bellies.

    • tarandfeatherthecrooks

Anybody calling DCF about neglect and hunger imposed by caretakers during school hours?

  • deimos19

this is the only country in the history of the world where the poor and hungry are morbidly obese.

  • QueenB

Hey all you multi-millionaires in Congress…..since you are so very concerned, why don’t you pony up YOUR money? Start a fund for all the people who can no longer get food stamps. Now tell me how hard it is to feed a family of 4 on $160/week, even though I do it with far less, using my OWN money.

  • right_on

Shameful–House Ds voted to take trillions of dollars away from millions of Americans. That means today’s children, seniors, veterans, and military families will not have a bright future, and unless something is done to reverse this trend, the progressives in this country will re-make the United States in to another failed socialist country.
My statement is true, and provable. Nazi Pelosi’s is more Nazi-politicizing, also known as the “Sky is falling syndrome.” This proves once again, that if you have no answers, no plans, no ideas…lie about those that do!

  • AmericanLass

Because hungry people can afford shrimp, then let it go to waste in fridge ? That’s not hunger, that’s being a leech off those of us who can’t even afford such luxuries.

  • Buffalobob

I noticed a nitwit dem. with a bottle of Vodka and a steak. claiming that is what the Rep. are eating and drinking while the childrens starve. How can I put this kindly? Lady you blithering idiot, if you go to Wal-Mart or any grocery store on the 1st or the 15th of the month, you will see the obese EBT card holders with loaded cats filled with junk food, soda, and high priced meats and booze.

  • vdetillion

Do you know how those faces of hunger can afford booze and drugs while selling their foodstamps for money to buy it with I have seen little children holding their parents hand while the parent sells their foodstamps while the child crys for food. These are the faces of hunger you dems are a bunch of fools you are feeding habits but not children. Oh and these parents were buying lottery tickets with the money

My husband is an E6 and we have five kids, we’ve never come close to qualifying for food stamps, and wouldn’t take them if we did. The “military families” on food stamps all live in base housing and don’t have to claim their BAH, while we off post dwellers do. Same with Section 8 and HUD vouchers. It’s easy to look “poor” on paper when someone else is giving you a loophole to hide in-kind income.

  • Demoivre

Are there poor in America? Sure.
But let’s be real here. America is No 1 in the world of obesity. The narrative they are trying to pass that there’s some sort of mass starvation going on every time we make reasonable cuts is laughable at best.
If they want to elevate the poor, they can focus on creating jobs. Not giving out more and more welfare and keeping them perpetually in poverty.

  • DonnaLynn

If they want to do something constructive, quit taxing us to death, so that companies won’t move to China, for cheap labor. People want to work, not collect Pelosifare.

  • kim

um…. I noticed nobody seems to have mentioned that the bill does not effect any family with a child or any senior. It effects only those families comprised of single, able bodied adults. Why is it nobody ever brings these things up when they start the pity slideshow?

  • LegalizeShemp

Why can’t we take food out of their mouths since Democrats continue to take money out of our pockets?
