Tom Perez, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department, promised in a conference call this afternoon that the DOJ “would very aggressively investigate” a possible federal case against George Zimmerman, who Saturday was found not guilty in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. Part of that investigation includes the setting up of a special email address to collect tips from the public, nationwide.

The FBI was on the call as well, despite the fact that the FBI’s investigation of Zimmerman in 2012 turned up no evidence whatsoever that Zimmerman was a racist. That investigation comprised interviews with dozens of Zimmerman’s friends, neighbors and co-workers.
@marklevinshow DOJ sets up a public email to get tips on Zimmerman. Why? Because investigation of him has turned up nothing.
