There was plenty of confusion in St. Louis, Mo., tonight as tornado activity kicked up soon after major twisters hit the Oklahoma City area. Reports spread by AccuWeather of people trapped in the debris of Busch Stadium turned out to be anything but accurate.

There were also reports of a “mass casualty event” at a Holiday Inn in Earth City, Mo., but those too seem to have been premature.

This seems to have been the point of confusion.

Lets just hope it does not go that someone over hears on a scanner to send 40 body bags to somewhere and within 5 minutes the death toll jumps by 40 with no confirmation of any type.

    What a mess.

The “Accu” in AccuWeather must be a misnomer

If you think accuweather is bad, you should watch environment canada do the dance sometime. I personally enjoy the severe weather alerts that happen after t-storms, or tornado producing events show up here in southern ontario.

Never mind that they ripped out all the air raid sirens back 15 years ago. It’s not like we don’t get F4 and F5’s up here either.

I heard it, but St. Louis was missing a foot.

It’s to the point where I no longer believe anything reported in the news anymore. Remember how they pegged the death toil;l in Moore, OK at 97?? Then they revised downward to 24. These “jourolists” are nothing but sensationalist, rumor starters, without a shred of journalistic integrity. Only believe your own eyes, folks. And it’s only going to worsen. Look who is in the White House. The media did that, too… SMH…

Sounds like we have some young journalist chasing rainbows. @@

I am going to St Louis today with another round of storms on the way, can’t wait…..

This is all part of the “gotta be first” attitude of journalism. One of the good things about Twitter is that it often is the first source. It is also one of the worst sources.
