The most transparent administration ever didn’t do itself any favors at the peak of the Benghazi scandal by hand-selecting a number of journalists for a “deep background” meeting with Press Secretary Jay Carney. Now, with Attorney General Eric Holder allegedly investigating himself for seizing the phone records of AP reporters and the private emails of Fox News’ James Rosen, some Washington, D.C., news bureau chiefs are being summoned to an off-the-record briefing.

The New York Times has reportedly sent its regrets, not wishing to further encourage the administration’s behind-closed-doors brand of transparency.

DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse thinks it’s the Times’ loss if it refuses this generous offer.

Oh yes, yes he did.

“Joseph Goebbels holds off-the-record press conference to explain death
camps, but some in the media refuse to meet with him. Kind of forfeits
your right gripe.” — Brad Woodhouse

Brad Woodhouse forfeited the right to call himself an American.

    • Kimihiro Watanuki

Yeah, you nailed it with this comment.

  • Joe W.

I love the smell of desperation that is emanating from the corrupt White House. It’s going to take 3 visits from the Orkin Man and 10 haz-mat teams to clean the place up when these grifters get perp walked out of there.

    • RightThinking1

Let’s hope that Holder stays as long as possible. The sooner he leaves, the sooner they re-trench and go back to their old ways…., and by ‘they’, I mean both the Administration AND the MSM. The longer this guy is there, the more the stench spreads.

      • Kimihiro Watanuki

        Sadly, you’re right.

    • Kimihiro Watanuki

I’d give just about anything to see a perp walk out of WH and the AG office. Please… pleaseeeeee….. let it happen.

    • Ronald Green

Bet the silver will be missing too.

another contempt charge? another executive privilege?

  • kateorjane

Obama and his fluffers really don’t seem to have a clue

  • Jack Deth

Some where off in the distance, I hear a familiar cry:

“Save us, Obi-Wan. You’re our only hope!”

You don’t invade the privacy of the press. And then expect them to bail you out while a Crucifix is being raised in the town square!

    • Kimihiro Watanuki

What I don’t get is how they’re his staunches ally, and yet, he treats them like dirt. It’s enough to just make me dizzy. I pray they really do turn on him, but I don’t hold out hope.

What, the MSM needs a *new* shipment of gov’t approved kneepads? Already?

  • Janice LEE

The NYSlimes doesn’t need to attend. Their mission statement is to swear to all Obama’s lies. Even make up a few when it behooves them.

    • Billie Slash

Absolutely. The should spare us their sanctimony.

  • grais

Nothing anyone ever does or doesn’t do is a forfeiture of said person’s right to gripe.
This woodhouse clown is an idiotchild.

  • Gordon

That guy must walk funny having balls that big. Maybe Nixon should have doubled, nay, tripled down on Watergate.

  • vetgal1970

I sort of thought they forfeited their right to gripe when they carried water through two elections and refused to actually report the news. Truthfully their constant buttkissing of this administration has very nearly forfeited the rights of each and every American. Just as we warned it would.

PS We will know who DOES attend. They will be the ones that begin to incessantly bleat “We need the Media Shield Law to protect all ‘real’ journalists” because some of the animals should be more equal.

    • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

      I’ll bet Odd money against Even that the “Media Shield Law” is something like the “Fairness in Media” (Hush Rush”) Act from the nineties. #RightWard Jawamax 8<{D}

@DrewMTips nailed it. A for effort for “Jesus Brad” Woodhouse, on his way to the firing squad…….

  • http://mikespoliticalmusings.blogspot.com/ Cynical Mike

Two comments: #1 – my ass, Woodhouse. #2 – Off-the-record except for whatever Holder decides should be leaked, no doubt.

  • Dan Gerous

I really hope someone smuggles in an audio recorder and anonymously leaks the contents.

  • detroit19

    Paraphrasing, obviously…
First they came for the ‘conservative journalists’ and I did not speak out–
Because I was not a ‘conservative’.
If journalists, at large, believe this could never happen to them? Two letters for you, AP.
    Wake UP, America!

  • neyney

So 4 Americans are left to die in some god forsaken middle east hell hole while Obama and Killery look the other way for no other reason than politics and the MSM say meh. Up to 500 conservative groups are targeted, harassed and denied their rights by agencies of this government and the MSM say meh. BUT have THEM have THEIR rights infringed on and KATY BAR THE DOOR!!! I hate these mofos!

    • Trevor Fortune

Exactly, and there were no bigger hypocrites extolling exactly these sentiments than the PBS Newshour suck holes.

      • beebop1952

        Don’t.Listen.

        • Ronald Green

I don’t. As soon as they start with their propaganda, it’s mute or change to Looneytoons, which Is more informative by the way.

    • Testicules

      Well said!!!

  • tops116

“Forfeits your right to gripe?” That was a really, REALLY unforced error, Woodhouse. Have fun getting yelled at by your bosses for making a bad story even worse!

  • J.N. Ashby

Oh, God. I hope someone hacks his e-mail.

  • jebjr

Off the record? Good grief, that meeting should be televised on C-Span. Typical Obama/Holder/Democrat attitude of ‘my way or the highway’. All media outlets should take the high road and take the highway on this one. Don’t give the administration the satisfaction.

  • NY2DC

If I was invited to this meeting, I would go. I would listen. Then when it was over, I would remind the Attorney General that nothing is EVER “off the record”, and anything he says can be printed.

  • JPeden

I’d go to the meeting with a “wire” or recorder, then publish the whole thing. Their desperate need for secrecy in effect means that the content of the meeting needs to be made public.

  • OG_Locc

The replies to this fucking idiot are absolutely priceless.

  • CitizenEgg

I wonder which bothers him the most: getting caught with his ideological pants down or not inserting a 2? #grammarian

  • Zathras11 @B5

How do people live that long being that dumb? Who holds it for him when he goes?

  • beebop1952

Seems to have misplaced the concept of who works for who in the government ….

  • Paul C.

Talk about a low info voter, where do they find these people with IQ’s under 50

  • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

    So let me get this straight: The Sheriff of NottingHolder and Carney Barker want to meet with the Beaureau Chiefs of the Washinton Media outlets, and if they don’t attend, they have no right to complain that the Government is spying on it’s reporters? Really?!? REALLY!?! REALLY?!? Well, You and the Administration (THE MOST TRANSPARENT IN HISTORY?!?) are in BIG TROUBLE with Rupe and Roger Ailes, who should tell their people to AVOID THIS MEETING LIKE THE PLAGUE! They won’t take being Intimidated or talked down to by a bunch of Corrupt Politicians! #RightWard Jawamax 8<{D}

    • Steve in Katy

How do we know Fox was invited? They’ve been blocked by this administration before.

  • chetnapier

What if they went and reported on it anyway?

  • gekkobear

“Is this part of the “most transparent administration ever”??”

Of course it is… when something is transparent you can see through it.

But is something is perfectly 100% transparent; you never see it at all. So off the record meetings and secret investigations are prefect “transparency” because you should never see them.

Classifying more documents than anyone else and prosecuting more whistleblowers than all other administrations combined also increases “transparency” because you get to see less.

  • regmgr

What else would you expect from a socialist like Woodhouse. If you don’t like what you see and hear then shut-up. All he is doing is reflecting the attitude of the Socialist in Charge.

  • SideshowJon36

Journalists should attend. Then “leak” the conversation to their own media. With bylines.

  • thetroll01

So….who the hell is this Brad Whorehouse……aahh, WOODHOUSE(my bad) anyhow, and why should we give a rats a&& what he thinks?

    • Ronald Green

He’s just one of the top dogs in the Democrap Party.

  • Ronald Green

Behold… the DNC’s vision of what America should be. The Democrats are not only trying to shred the 2nd Amendment, but the 1st as well and the libtards are silent.
