CNN assignment editor Jake Carpenter is reporting what many heard while monitoring the Boston Police Department’s scanner traffic this afternoon: police are searching for a yellow rental truck that allegedly tried to gain access to the Boston Marathon race route earlier today, before the blasts which rocked the event around 3 p.m.
