It’s bad enough that Ashley Judd has decided not to run for Senate, and now Bruce Carroll, the tweeter formerly known as @GayPatriot, has announced, as scheduled, that he will not challenge GOP squish Lindsey Graham in 2014. Disappointed followers are taking the news with a dash of humor.
I congratulate my friend @BruceCarrollSC on his brilliant Senate run head-fake as he prepares his presidential bid for 2016.

Tonight was 1st time I ever spoke with @BruceCarrollSC. Hell of a nice guy. A shame that politics discourages such people from participating

Whatever y'all. I think @BruceCarrollSC is a slacker. Man up. 😉

Damn. I just realized we have to return all that Chick-Fil-A we ordered for the @BruceCarrollSC campaign launch event….

@BruceCarrollSC I'm going to call you "Senator" anyway. I dare you to do something about it. #TeamBruce

Too bad that @BruceCarrollSC decided not to run for Senate. If he ever wants to come to Alabama, I'd be proud to vote for him.

🙁 MT @BruceCarrollSC: I have decided not to run for #SCsen in 2014.

There must be at least one other “consistent constitutional conservative” in South Carolina, right? In the meantime, don’t get too comfortable, John McCain.
