A small group of protesters descended on the Los Angeles Police Department this afternoon to draw attention to allegations of corruption inside the police force. While several members of the media, academics and others have tried to walk the fine line of denouncing Christopher Dorner’s actions while supporting his “message,” only a few turned out in person to confront the police today.

That was the movie poster version of the protest. The Instragram-filtered version of the event itself looked something like this.

An overhead view was less impressive, however.

The protest went largely unnoticed by the media, which had packed the same area just two days before, and attracted little chatter on Twitter. If there was any consensus from those not participating, it was this:

Things like this make me feel sick. Why would they make this guy some kind of hero? He was an angry murderer, not a victim.

    • CR

None of this should come as a surprise, it is just part of the liberal track record:

      See in re Che Guevara
      See in re Hugo Chavez

  • RichardBlaine

But… Riots! We were promised riots! In support of Dorner! And looting! Free stuff! Where are the riots?!?

Who knew that – thanks to welfare, food stamps and free phones – the natives would NOT be restless?

  • Maxx

    THAT’s a protest? What a turnout.

I’ve seen larger crowds at a middle school head lice check.

    • CR

To be fair, compared to the rallies that Sandra Fluke holds, this is a MASSIVE crowd.

    • GoSellCrazySomeplaceElse

I think it was the 15th anniversary of their head lice check. It’s how they got together.

But a lot fewer lice (at the school check).

  • http://www.politicsandpixels.com/ John Richards

Small crowd . Must be the only people in L.A. who couldn’t get a date on a Saturday night. Poor things :(

  • Michelle

Heh. What this doesn’t tell you is that the protest organizers expected 800 people. Less than 30 showed up. In the local paper here, most of the people interviewed don’t even live in areas serviced by LAPD; a few were there to protest the cabin being burned (um, yeah…wrong place to protest, LAPD didn’t do that, they weren’t handling the cabin); another said it was wrong to “burn him alive,” so I guess they missed the part in the news that Dorner died of a self-inflicted shot to the head and finally, this quote from a 13 yr old brought to the protest by her mother, sums up all the stupidity of each and every Dorner supporter: “…this man wouldn’t have gone on a rampage if he was wrong.” Right cupcake, clearly Dorner was in the right with his allegations, chip on his shoulder, racism, etc. because surely being in the right is the ONLY reason he became a murderer.

  • Jack Deth

    Wow! Epic FAIL.

A Sandra Fluke sponsored protest in the tens of lower single digits!

And I’ve been told that these idiots were so savvy with social media, flash mobs and the Internets and crap like that.

    • NRPax

Dude, be nice. Saturday is their sleep in day. -:-)

      • Jack Deth

        Hi, Pax:

I did notice a distinct lack of African Americans in the photos. And a preponderance of Hispanics.

I guess the African Americans slept in late because Saturday night is Gangsta Thuggin’ Night,

        • NRPax

Either that or they are still awake from Friday night.

  • Mitchell Hendricks

Anybody else find the irony in them using a photoshoped version of the DREDD movie poster?

  • Krazy Kent

They kinda look like Mardi Gras partiers who took a wrong turn en route to New Orleans….

    • Jack Deth

      Hi, Krazy:

They took a left turn at Albuquerque.
      *Apologies to Bugs Bunny*

      • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

        That’s left toin at albaQuoique” XD Jawamax 8<{D}

There’s a lot of corruption throughout any big city PD, government organization, etc. Doesn’t make it okay to murder innocents.

  • michael s

I’m sure they were influenced by Jack Moore’s saying this was like a Denzel Washington Movie?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002109532283 Jillane Kent

Maybe, just maybe, they are influenced by their bizarre need to turn villains into heroes and victims into villains.

  • HARP2

Did Marc Lamont show up ?

  • http://twitter.com/die_mich_zwei Spatial Awareness

WoW!!! Look at all the 10’s of people!!!!

  • HARP2

Looks more like a Sandra Fluke rally.

    • Teddi

There is never more than 10 people at a Sandra Fluke rally…

  • GoSellCrazySomeplaceElse

These are the mentally ill. Take their names and don’t sell them a gun.

Once the collapse of the government happens, we WN will be in the position to “take care” of the far-left for good and preserve this country for it’s people.

  • Raye09

I guess they didn’t have enough money to bus more protesters in

  • $23629333

Wonder if the dipsticks who wear those masks know anything about the man whose likeness they’ve adopted?
