National School Choice Week kicked off in Phoenix, Ariz., tonight with a rally and concert featuring the (homeschooled) Jonas Brothers.

Organizers also kicked off a 14-city “whistle-stop” train tour in Los Angeles. Andrew Campanella, president of National School Choice Week, described the tour this way:

Just as whistle-stop tours were used to promote civil rights like women’s suffrage to the end of racial segregation, the National School Choice Week ‘Special’ will draw attention to the great civil rights fight of the 21st century: school choice for all Americans regardless of their race, income, zip code or learning ability.

A list of stops on the whistle-stop tour can be found on the School Choice Week website.

My comment was not meant as a direct insult of the JB. It was meant as a criticism of the vagaries of youth. Alas, it was the same for my generation. The cool band this week became the lame band next week.
