The interview apparently went on for a full two-and-a-half hours and will be edited down to 90 minutes, but fortunately, the only thing that matters has leaked, and it fits easily in a single tweet. According to an AP source, Armstrong confessed to Oprah that he did indeed use performance-enhancing drugs. Following the earlier tearful stops on his apology tour, who expected that bombshell, aside from every person on earth?

OK, it is news to some people who wanted to believe Armstrong was telling the truth.

Speaking of taking a long time, who else is sitting down for an interview this month?

This is all a ploy to keep people preoccupied elsewhere. Does anyone really care that he doped up? Is anyone really surprised that he doped up? Seems more people are concerned with this nonsense than what this country is coming to. Sad.

I always believed the guy was a cheat and a fake. He’s just another perfect example of a typical bogus, hollow, phony, lying, cheating fraudulent leftist. I have too much self-respect to be able to live that kind of fabrication. Despicable.

You mean he is a Pete Rose , Say it ain’t so Stuck !

  • Steve_J

So what? All he did was beat them at their own game.

    • Zane Henry

Exactly. They didn’t award his wins to anyone else, because they are ALL under investigation.

Stupid sport that does nothing but create a horde of inexperienced, fat cyclists darting around in traffic.

Had none doped, Armstrong would probably still have won because of his training ethic. There was a story (that had me convinced for a long time he was straight) that one Xmas eve, while in a bar with some friends, Jan Ulrich called Lance to wish him a merry christmas, since it was Xmas day in the states. Ulrich starts screaming curses through the phone. After the call was over, Ulrich’s friends asked him what happened. He said he just lost the Tour de France – Armstrong was at that moment, on his bike training.

      (Not a defense of Armstrong)

I have lost ALL respect for Lance Armstrong. Because he used performing enhancing drugs, yes, to a degree, but more so because he LIED! None of us is perfect, we all make mistakes. but to compound his error by lying about it, sorry…no respect. You blew it, Lance.

    • nc

      You said it.

    • TomJB

Even worse was the way he apparently destroyed some people for going public about what they knew – then threatened to do the same to others if they did so as well.

  • Herman LaClair

up next: a congressional inquiry on doping in cycling.

  • RightThinking1

Armstrong? Drugs? Who knew…? What a shocker.
Just a variation on the Rosie Ruiz gambit.

  • TheOriginalDonald

Next thing you know Jodie Foster will say she’s thankful she isn’t Lance Armstrong or Barry U S Bonds 😉

a sports hero in our country is worshipped. always on t.v. loved to be seen. everytime one player makes a decent play he has to show off in front of the camera even after making multible bad plays. do yourself a favor and bring these atheletes back to earth. they can commit rape sometimes murder, but after all the dust settles you are every bit as good as they are,
