More than a half-hour late for his statement on the status of fiscal cliff negotiations (but who even noticed?), President Obama gave a brief speech that was short on numbers, aside from noting that “nobody gets 100 percent of what they want” and that Congress has 10 days to get a deal done before Jan. 1. Here’s a quick recap, courtesy of Twitter.
Obama (knowing this will not happen): "Let's agree right now on what we already agree on."

The president left the podium without taking questions.

After Rep. John Boehner’s failure last night to secure support for his “Plan B,” some liberals were demanding that the president “punish” the Speaker for his insolence. It seems they were expecting more from tonight’s statement.
"I went more than halfway on spending"–Pres. O. That's the kind of tough negotiator I want on my side.
